It was kind of funny to see aleksey morozov, ville peltonen, ziggy palffy and jaromir jagr carrying their country's flags tonight. It will be interesting to see how they perform .. haven't seen them play since they left the NHL.

112!? That's insane. I can't see myself scoring much more than 20 goals in a period even if that's all I was trying to do. Nicely done.

I usually try to score on one-timers and straight slappers only (no dekes) and try not to allow any shots on goal, but I think the best I have done is allow 3 or 4 shots in a game. I tried Ottawa (with no goalie) vs. the West Allstars and lost 12-7. I discovered that Mike Peluso (the extra attacker for Ottawa) is actually pretty decent.

Everyone is always talking about player ratings in terms of 3's and 4's and 5's and 6's.. but the ratings in the game are out of 100. Now, I understand that the ratings out of 100 does not matter that much because a 60 rating for shot power for example could be the same as a 64 rating in terms of in-game performance, but how do people know what the rating is out of 5 or 6 or whatever it is? Is there a list of ratings somewhere? I'm talking about SNES if that matters at all (but I think the SNES ratings should be the same as the weight bug fix GENS?).

Ya, I guess the weight bug fix would be similar to SNES, but let's be honest here, the SNES game is a lot different than the Sega game. so maybe there would be some differences in preferences. I agree it would be really cool if someone were to add a SNES perspective to AJ's threads. I would be interested in hearing other people's ideas for lines.

I need a break from work, so I'm going to comment on Dangler's suggestions and write about some switches I've tried... DET: Chiasson --> Lidstrom I tried that switch many times, but in the end, I decided that I like Chiasson better. I think Chiasson gots a bit more "jam". Lidstrom seems a bit week, and doesn't seem any faster than Chiasson. CHI: Goulet --> Ruutu I agree with the Ruutu for Goulet switch which seems to be pretty common. Goulet is quite crappy. STL: Hull to center It is quite fun to have a big shooter at center and focus on teeing up the one-timers for him. NJD: Richer to center Semak --> Stastny I like to put Stephane Richer at center with Stastny on the left and Lemieux on the right. Richer is a big body with a huge slapper, hell of a figure skater too. NJ is actually my new favourite darkhorse / under-rated team. Stevens - Fetisov is a quality defensive paring. Both can hit and have decent skating. TOR: Andreychuck --> Clark Who wouldn't want Wendy Clark on Killer's wing? - firing slappers and crunching defensemen

I like playing with teams that have a good all-around center who can play two ways. Ones that can put the puck in the net, but also come back hard on D and make some hits. Yzerman, Roenick, Lemieux, Messier, Oates come to mind. Coincidentally, Detroit, Chicago, Pitt, NYR and Boston are some of my favourite teams. I don't like to mess with the starting line-up much, so I wouldn't know what bench guys are good to sub in. Although I do like to put in Stastny in NJ since I'm a fan of his. It would be great if someone did a "building lines with AJ" type thing for SNES. I don't think I have enough knowledge of the bench guys to do it. I would just suggest the starting line-up for most teams.

Maybe this is the bot that controls the other team every time I play single player NHL 94? If so, he sucks!

Personally, I would like to see the Nords in Quebec again. I would definitely try to go to a game every season. Quebec City is a pretty cool place.

Dangler, you probably shouldn't come back. You should focus on your job ... plus you don't want to put too much strain on your computer. just kidding of course. you're really good at this game and would likely beat me several times, but it would be cool if we had more snes guys.

How come there's no Winter Classic Season? Not like "Winter Classic", as in outdoor games in football and baseball stadiums, but you know what I mean. Just curious. I'm anxious to play some more 94.

Congrats to the Master. Well played. That was probably the best/toughest series I've ever played in... He won game 6 in OT and game 7 in double OT. I was pretty damn pissed to have lost because this was my big chance to win something significant. I have been having nitemares of Lindros barging his way into the net and scoring with my Red Wing defenders helplessly hanging off his back. But considering I made the playoffs by 1 point, and took out the top 2 teams in the West, I am still happy and I can't wait for the next Classic Season to get started.

We played last night and Master won. I don't have the scores here at work, but we can post them / log them later. He won in Game 7 double overtime.

My series with Schwartz is completed.
