  4. I'd be willing to test the backup goalie theory with a quick preseason - but if memory serves, all goalies suck in '93. Not sure it will make much of a difference. ... as far as line-changes go, we'd need to test that as well - as it will be set-up for 4 lines I believe.

  6. It's second nature to most gens players - and the half second delay is something both teams deal with. I haven't played much with the y-button hack, a league that had some difficulty getting everyone setup with the 6-button configuration for online play.

  8. Goalies will be preset to manual, and I'm debating adding the y-button hack (and allowing them to roam - if it can be done).
  9. Been thinking about this for a while. A tournament/playoff rom for use in weeklong or weekend tournaments. Standard rules, 5min periods, penalties on/no offsides, manual goalies. Currently under construction and open to ideas. Must haves: * Roster corrections * Pre-set 5min period lengths/penalties/goalies (done) * Simple weight-bug fix (done) * 1 minute penalties (done) * 99min overtime period (done) Debating: * Y-button goalie patch? * roaming goalies?   10. Find a night or two that makes everyone happy, and make those league nights. Just like leagues in real life (hockey/bowling/pool/...) you set time aside on those evenings to attend - NHL94 leagues should be no different.
  11. It's just funny to me, that there's a fighting instigator penalty is coded into a game without fighting.
  12. Just seems bizarre to take fighting out completely, but leave the 5min fighting major and 2min fighting instigator in the game.
  13. Just curious if anyone has gone down this road? Are the fighting penalties just legacy code (carried over from '93)? Has code simply been added to suppress fights in '94? Can we find the fight switch?
  14. @Marchdawg How tough would it be to develop a standard 8 team playoff style tournament? Manual or random assignment of seeds, and some of your slick presentation of team stats and scores. I think it would be a hit. Jer
  15. A site for running tournaments would be awesome, would be even better if it accepted a variety of roms. As for leagues, we've run them using nothing more than google spreadsheets.

  17. Getting shelled and goose-egged would be worse I suppose, but I hate not scoring. Seems in GENS that if you get down 2-3 goals, your players start to lose the ability to take a pass.. does this happen to anyone else? Clearly there is a momentum component to the game, that effects individual player abilities.
  18. Minpind rarley shows as online - send a message through in the evening and you'll often catch him. Or simply PM him through the site, he's pretty good about getting back to you. He's been real busy by the sounds of it...

  20. 0 pts is still worth more than negative points (points lost for DNP games). Playoffs are not set however - there are still many games to be played.

  22. As a solution to league slackers, I think that similar to ones global ranking - there should be a leagueplay ranking as well. Based simply on completed games/seasons in every league. Essentially, it could be used when recruiting - if your leagueplay ranking is poor and another player signs up with a better ranking you'd get bumped until eventually you are on the waiting list.
