  1. Hannu, I tried to change colors on my exported rink in GIF-format and bring that back to game. Everything worked fine. I used GIMP to edit colors. Lets figure this out, so you can make your own rink to game.
  2. kingraph, any success so far? I have been trying to figure this out too with NHL95PC...
  3. Is there any easy way to collect NHL season 1980-1981 player names, jersey number, position, shoots, weight and age to same spreasdsheet? I can have Player names, position and age nicely from http://www.hockey-reference.com, but for jersey number, shoots and weight I have to click link for each player to see those and pick that information individually.
  4. Check this out, this seems to be very nice conversion: http://vimeo.com/12885085 That TGOL-league was running on http://www.thebreakaway.net forums by DEATHSTARWARSBIRD! Unfortunately it seems that he is not anymore active on that forum, if you would like to ask for help.
  5. HI shajtan1980, you have cool project there and I really hope you can make it. I would like to help but unfortunately all I know from editing NHL95PC graphics is told in this thread. Right now I dont have time to study secrets of NHL95PC graphics editing, I am running my NHL95PC simmed manager-league. But I am very interested to see your KHL conversion in future. Happy hacking!
  6. Few more screenshots from web-client, boxscore of the game:
  7. I just wrote couple of c++ programs to save game stats from GAME.SAV file to txt-files. Then I wrote importing stats from txt-files to SQL-database with php. Also I wrote saving back to game (database->txt->game). Screenshot is from web-client to edit lines in game. Here are some more screenshots from database:
  8. NHL95PC game stats, rosters and attributes to database? Browse stats and make changes to rosters by your web browser? Maybe...
  9. I suppose you got a DOS game? Never heard about Windows 3.1 version of NHL95PC...
  10. Personally I have to say that clock "speed" has not bothered me at all, I quess NHL95 and some other games are not trying to make game as a perfect simulation. The implementation is somewhere between simulation and arcade. EA's NHL-series 92-96 have got my heart, after over 20 years I still play, coach and trying to do little bit of hacking to them. I would say that slowing down clock speed is somehow possible, but I dont think that it would be an easy hack, just by changing some values in HOCKEY.EXE via hex editor.
  11. Clock may not be in sync to real time in NHL95PC. Anyhow, I was understanding that you cannot change period length in NHL95PC? If you choose 5, 10 or 20 min periods, that should show selected period time to the game clock. In your case this did not happen? If so, I think you have modified HOCKEY.EXE in use. Problem should be solved if you try to use original HOCKEY.EXE. If problem still exists, we have paranormal activity...
  12. That sounds a hack, normally NHL95PC should not do that... where did you get your copy of game?
  13. Hi wraparound17. Period length selection should work fine in NHL95PC. At least it works fine on my original version of the game. You have original game? Could you explain how do you change period length? Did you do it on exhibition game or in season game? That result of your editing HOCKEY.EXE is quite strange, never occured to me that "the clock always starts at 20:00, but moves very fast acting as if it is 5 minute period". Actually I would like to know how to do that I suggest that you make new installation of NHL95PC and first try to change period time in exhibition game settings. If everythting is ok, then try my program or edit hex.
  14. This program changes 5min periods time in EA Sports NHL95-game (PC-version). 1. Take backup from your HOCKEY.EXE. 2. Put NHL95time.exe and HOCKEY.EXE in same directory. 3. Run NHL95time.exe. 4. Give new time for 5 min periods in minutes between 1-99. 5. If you copied HOCKEY.EXE to different directory, just copy it back to your NHL95 directory. 6. Run NHL95 and run your game where you use 5min periods. Period time should have been changed. NHL95 uses 5min periods time for overtime lenght, so this affects to 10min and 20min periods overtime also. NHL95time.zip
  15. Hi, many C64 emulators have network option. So, like playing Hat Trick is possible. Hat Trick: http://www.lemon64.com/?mainurl=http%3A//www.lemon64.com/games/details.php%3FID%3D1151 Instructions to netplay with VICE: http://www.gb64.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=4687 Oh, memories...
  16. Network game with NHL96PC and dosbox is possible. Here are the instructions to those who like to play it in network (applies to Dosbox version 0.72): 1. Install Dosbox and NHL96 on both ends (Of course ) 2. Edit dosbox.conf on "server" side pc. Find label [serial]. Change serial1 to following: serial1=nullmodem 3. Edit dosbox.conf on "client" side pc. Find label [serial]. Change serial1 to following: serial1=nullmodem server:["server" IP address] (for example: serial1=nullmodem server:192.168.0.2) 4. Start dosbox on "server" side. 5. On "server" Dosbox status window should say something like "Serial1: Nullmodem server waiting for connection on port 23...". 6. Start dosbox on "client" side. 7. On "client" Dosbox status window should say something like "Serial1: Connected to [iP address]" 8. Start NHL96 on both ends and select modem as gaming mode. 9. On "server" select connect mode to "wait for call", direct connection to "yes" and com port to " one". Dont mind the phone number. Click check sign. Now wait for synchronizing... 10. On "client" select connect mode to "make call", direct connection to "yes" and com port to " one". Dont mind the phone number. Click check sign. Now wait for synchronizing... 11. If everything went well, connection is established and you can select your teams, sides and start to play. Connection is using port 23 by default. It could be that port forwarding and/or port number changes are required on your system to make it work. Have fun! EDIT: If game seems to be laggy, try first put more cycles to dosbox. NHL96 requires on my PC about 20000 cycles to run smoothly. Also, adding rxdelay to 50 or 100 could help. Like this on "client": serial1=nullmodem rxdelay:100 server:["server" IP address] and on "server" serial1=nullmodem rxdelay:100
  17. It reads palette for rink from RINKPAL.QFS, not from RINK.QFS. Palette file is separate from rink-image.
  18. EA Graphics editor have Palette workbench on tools menu, maybe that would help you?
  19. When NHLinfo asks do you want to use this picture's palette (replace) or trying to match for palette for original picture which is in the game (match). Have you tried to select replace? Nope, it does not work. You can open palette files from example RINKPAL.QFS, by using EA Graphics editor. Here is link to it if you need one: http://forums.nba-li...=detail&df_id=3 Unfortunately I cannot help more, I dont know much about editing graphics. Hope you can change palette and when you do, please post your instructions here
  20. Finally I managed to export rink with correct palette. In NHLinfo with GFXPAK: 1. Select RINKPAL.QFS. 2. Save !pal by pressing "F". 3. Give name to that palette-file, for example rinki.pal 4. Go one "step" back to "root", by selecting "back" from menu. 5. Press SHIFT+P so palettes will be red. 6. Select RINK.QFS and then rink. 7. Press "P" until rinki.pal is in use. (In my case editor shows picture still gray) 8. Press "M" and select image format. 9. Press "S" and give filename to save image. 10. New rink image should be in nhl95 directory. I put my exported rink in here.
  21. I think you should read txt-files through from that zip-file You can do many things with NHLinfo. You can "trade" players if you want to, but there is no actual need to trade, unless you dont want to, because you can simply transfer players to other teams. Of course there is limit with positions but, no actual trading is mandatory. You can delete players and make new ones. You can make new schedule for games. You can change player names and attributes. You can change Teams names and other info. You can change images in game (well that have been bit difficult with some pictures in my case, I have explained that on other thread). You can view your season and playoffs stats and even change them if there is need for that. You can print out stats, attributes, schedule... You can export data out. You can convert players with attributes to and from other EA NHL-series games (I think at least to nhl99). I think there is more, but I think here is quite enough stuff to examine for a while. Just remember take backups and making separate installation to study these things, would be good idea. Have happy editing!
  22. Also I need GSUMMARY.DB from 5 vs 3 short handed and powerplay goals. I got it.
