  1. lol...I remember hearing that about Clark...I think there were also similar rumors about Stephane Richer.
  2. 45+ posts in this topic in just a few hours...might be a record for this site!
  3. Thanks for the tip..I just called my bookie and made the switch to chicago.
  4. you've set an example of sportsmanship for everyone else. well spoken...and here's hoping the rest will follow your lead.
  5. I'll keep it simple and say a caper will win it all.
  6. Very well said...this should be on the front page of both sites so that everyone reads it...especially new members coming in
  7. this will happen eventually..but these things take time to build....more guys will sign up and more leagues will be formed...the playing feild will level out.
  8. I know there's a few of us out there who are on the outside looking in for the play-offs either because we (A)signed up too late to get a team or (B)missed the playoffs altogether. I know you guys(admins) have run spring and fall leagues and it will be another 4 months or so before the next one starts. Is there any chance to have a winter league set up for those of us that are itching to get some 'official' games in and for those others who continue to enjoy playing year round?
  9. I'll agree here...it seems certainly legit. I think anyone should be allowed to replace their player after an injury so that you dont get joe blow out there. However for PP time(because this can happen several times a game) it might become annoying for a lot of people cause everyone will start doing this that hasnt already....perhaps for next time, all injuries can be changed no matter what but for PP/PK they can only make one change per game by using their timeout. As long as these changes are done during a stoppage..it's all good.
  10. lol...I was thinking the same thing....but needless to say...give em kudos for getting hooked on the best video game ever!
  11. How much do you weigh in on home ice advantage?...is it overrated?
  12. I certianly don't blame you for being frustrated. I think the admins do the best they can to figure out FF and DNP's in a league that was full teams not playing. It's certainly unfair to some to players like yourself when those teams(like NYR) have had two months to play their games and dont even play half of them. I think Schwartz and company will be able to weed out these types of players for the next season. Good luck in the playoffs!
  13. What's your take on blow outs? Good or bad for league play or just simply part of the game?
  14. If i bet on more games, although the pot would be bigger, my chances of winning decrease...ill just stick with bets i made on your opening matches with each team and since washington is a true thing i only need two games right....the take is 140 bucks (remember I'll split the winnings with ya)
  15. just put my money downon proline... I've got the deer over shakazuzu and a i picked a tie between deer/94kid...and i got the deer over washington(from a confirmed source)....dont let me down guys...i'll split the winnings if ya want.
  16. I think maybe his point was that the 'A' league champ is considered to be the overall champion of their console (GENS/SNES) because (I assume) that the 'A' leagues have the best GENS/SNES players and thus shouldn't be scheduled (forced) to play a series with their B league champions. But certainly if either GENS or SNES champ wanted to play a series with their B champ then they could.
  17. My birthday isn't close to September 4, 1993 but I do remember it like it was yesterday. It was first day of school. Grade 11 in fact - the toughest year of high school. I was getting my stuff together...my 5 star notebook, putting on my outdated chip and pepper wetwear t-shirt and ripped bluenote jeans. I wasn't looking forward to another year of cafeteria lunches and annoying morning announcements. My dad gave me a present before work. My first ea sports game...SNES nhl94. "It's time for you to become a man now, son", he said as he left. "Sweet, thanks dad I said" with excitement and a tear rolling down my face. I never did become a man but I did become "sick" and stayed home for the first 8 weeks of school. Lots of my buddies became sick as well and huge tournamens ensued. "mono" classics and "fever" invitationals were scheduled constantly over the next two years. School grades suffered but it didn't matter cause it was if heaven was raining down on us everyday. The moral of this story is wearing outdated chip and pepper wetwear can get you beat up.
  18. Dick Pound is gonna be on here telling us we need to start drug testing the players..lol
  19. im currently using a keyboard...and it blows..lol...but i dont mind playing a few games until i get a controller.
  20. I just finished playing my first online SNES game with an exhibition game against Schwartz. I lost 4-0 (personally i think he was taking it easy on me) but nonetheless it was a fun experience although playing with a keyboard sucks...lol...but once i get my adaptor for my contoller...hopefully ill give him a better challenge. Ultimately the game was fun to play but I appreciated the fact that schwartz took the time to walk me through the process of getting it up and running. Having guys like him in charge is great thing in getting a competitve SNES league built. Thanks again! if anyone wants to add me to aim...my screen name is hfx2006 and id love to play some exhibition games.
  21. sounds fair enough...although ultimately leagues are striving to find guys to play all 40 games..like you did... i like the idea that someone had mentioned in another post of a forfeit team being deducted a point...so forfeit winner (2 pts) forfeit loser(-1pt)
  22. I'd like to see The SNES A and the GENS A champions cross platforms and play a summit series...4 games on each system.
