  1. Version 1.1 added to top post. Rosters as of December 4, player ratings updates to reflect big stories this season. Comments or corrections welcome.
  2. I'm gonna put out an update in a few days actually! Unfortunately it won't do anything for freezing/crashing in the menu. That's something with the 32-team ROM that's beyond my expertise. There's a known bug if you cycle through the player cards for one of the last teams it makes the game freeze. It's WPG maybe?
  3. WTF my man Tywin should be a 99. LOL
  4. I didn't make one, but I believe there is a roster exporter to excel tool somewhere on these forums. I consider a lot of different sources. Partially just my impression from being an avid hockey fan, but I really rely on individual player scouting reports from http://www.sportsforecaster.com/nhl/players When I dive deep into a player I'll look at their advanced stats or look at their charts on hockeyviz (which I am subscribed to). A lot of time points totals dictate a guys offensive awareness rating, goal totals and shooting accuracy drive shooting ratings, I have ballpark overalls I target as to how it should all add up. For instance: Forwards: 90+ -- MVP contender 80+ -- Solid all star 75+ -- standout player 70-75 -- first or second liner 65-70 -- second, maybe third liner 60-65 -- 3/4th liner 60 or lower -- 4th liner or fringer NHLer Defense: 80+ -- elite 70+ -- solid all star 65+ -- very good 60-65 -- solid but not spectacular 54-60 -- average 50-54 -- below average 50 or lower -- bottom of the lineup guy
  5. This may help some people, or just be convenient for any modder. It's an xml file that is a bunch of bookmarks in TileMolester for the 32-team rom template. To use, download the file and put it in the resources folder of your tilemolester install. RENAME it so the name of the xml is exactly the same as the name of rom you are editing. Then open tilemolester and open up your rom. To edit something, go to the top menu, Navigate and choose what you want to edit. After that, go to Palette and choose the corresponding palette for what you are editing. Voila, never look up a hex address again. (For the palette bookmarks, if it says 'p2' or another number, load the palette, then hit the right arrow at the bottom menu to go to the 2nd page of bookmarked palette) I hope this helps! 6. Not sure if this is still an open question, but I think I got the solutions where everything moved for the 32-team rom.
  7. Okay, maybe old news by now, but here's a THIRD NHL 2019 rom for the community. All the usuals: -Updated lineups from opening day (best case scenario lineup, with injured players and holdouts in lineup) -Updated uniforms with sprite hack -Player portraits for all NLC starters -Updated center ice logos per frozenfaceoff -Weight bug fix, reduced speed burst effect, smoz 3 star formula Perhaps what separates this rom from others is that I really try to maintain the player ratings spread from the original rom. That means 3rd line players rated in the 60s, 4th liners in the 50s. Any defensemen that breaks 60 OVR is a solid defenseman (the average dman OVR rating in the original rom is about 50). See for yourself: Comments and corrections are appreciated! EDIT: Quick re-up with some goalie fixes and updates NHL 2019 by naples39.bin NHL 2019 1.1 by naples39.bin
  8. I don't think F or D designation effects gameplay on the ice, but if you go to edit lines in-game you won't be able to choose from players designated F for the D slots (and vice versa).
  9. Update. Ongoing player ratings revisions, more work on rosters (Skinner trade), some rookies added. NHL 2019 by naples39.bin
  10. I have a WIP for NHL 2019 and I'll just put it up here for people to fart around with. It has all the free agent signings and trades so far, although obviously it will be 3 months rosters, numbers, uniforms, etc... are finalized for real and can be properly updated in the ROM. Player ratings will be tweaked over the next few months, but for now this is perfectly playable if you really want to use Tavares on the Leafs or other summer moves. ONLY PLAY WITH LINE CHANGES OFF! 11. A while back I was curious as to looking at how players were rated in the original NHL 94, so as to keep my hacks more or less playing like the original ROM. I made these charts but never had a moment and organization to upload them, but here they are now. The zip files contains images for the distribution of each player attribute, skater and goalie. The groups are further separated by offense/defense, and starter/backup for goalies. I won't clutter up the post with all 22 images, but it's crazy seeing how low the overalls are. Nearly every backup goalie is rated between 40-50 overall! About 45% of defensemen are ~48 OVR, and about 30% of forwards are the same. Only about 15% of forwards break 80 OVR. There's lot of little tidbits you can find as well: -Fs and Ds aren't rated all that differently in most categories, but D are better hitters, with WAY worse shooting accuracy -About 80% of D have either a 2 or 3 on speed (FYI, original rating scale was 1 - 6, with 6 being 99 in game, and 3 being 40-60 in game) I can't say I match these distributions in my ROMs, but I think it's interesting to look at. 12. I honestly don't remember what I did, but taking the 32-team ROM and applying the sprite patch sounds about right.
  13. I do them in NOSE, also with the clockwise sprite hack. There might have been some tweak to NOSE (or the reference images it uses), but I set it up a while ago and barely remember.
  14. Alright bros, updated ROMs in first post. Two roms, one the usual deadline, the other with outdoor uniforms for Caps/Leafs, Sens/Habs, and Sabres/Rangers. Things updated: -Mittelstadt to BUF -Tolvanen to NSH -Updated Caps jersey (change template, darker red) -Updated Caps arena name -EDIT - Forgot to add that it also fixes NSH's gold helmet
  15. FWIW, I'll be uploading a new version soon that goes with #3 of this Caps issue for 'accuracy'
  16. Whoops, I mis-read upload as update. The World Cup rom is still here:
  17. I'm not sure what that 'update' would be. The World Championship is over and done, and the 2018 Olympics are entirely different uniforms, teams, and rosters. I am definitely not interested in making a ROM based on this Olympics that I didn't watch with a bunch of players I've never heard of.
  18. Thanks, I appreciate corrections because there's no way working by myself I'm gonna get every player number, uniform detail, arena name, etc... correct. WSH is a tough call. #3 is the most 'accurate', but I think #2 comes off better...hmmm
  19. The ROM crashing on WPG player cards is a known bug in the 32-team ROM. There is no fix for it.
  20. 1) I will correct the Caps arena name if I do an updated release of this ROM. 2) It's impossible to accurately re-create the Caps current jerseys in NHL94, so it's more art than science about what feels right. I'm open to changing it, but there's no right answer. Here's 3 different looks that I could do (one on left is in the current rom). 3) That's likely a bug in 32-team rom. Vegas is team 29 in this rom, Caps 30, 'Peg 31 (32 unused).
  21. Alrighty folks, I'm gonna put this up. It should be good to go, please let me know if you find any bugs! NHL 2018 1.31 by naples39.zip NHL 2018 outdoor by naples39.zip
  22. I am also working on updating my ROM for the trade deadline, but it will take me at least a few more days.
  23. It's not so much a bug as it is an unsupported feature. When you edit a rom, the playoff matchups have to be set manually. I simply didn't take the time to set them!
  24. I often like making things like this (did World Championship last fall), but I just don't have much interest in this tournament. Also rating all the unknown players would be a nightmare and arbitrary. Doing trade deadline update to NHL rom will keep my busy enough, I think.
