  1. Pitt does take Brett Hull & waives Mike Needham.
  2. In the SNES Dynasty League, for a wrinkle, Hali decided to remove penalties. SNES no weight bug, so you ended up w/ tanks playing like tanks, and could bounce off guys for a bit. No B check to stop them. It's better to have tanks w/ the weight in effect, as a) its better mentally & those are the slower players, and you have time to gang up on them to stop them! Of course, by season's end, the vets who were used to their B check were missing it. The biggest bonus w/ no penalties in SNES is not having the gay goalie interference play.
  3. Some classic ventage is probably acceptable in the realm of a forum. Probably the norm. That said, it's not really my style. Most of the guys in B primarily do not play 100's exis & it's rare to see a B shot or heavy crease usage, and tend to be more of a casual gamer who likes joining a league, creating his team, and duking it out some. And, ironically, we were all put in B because we suck too much to play in A. LOL. Stating pass shots, and all the other advantages of "gaming" & practicing 100's of exis gives you an edge and pisses those not doing it off is an exercise in redundancy.
  4. Sic, smoz fixed it. It's just not in the exi rom, because that used the old Blitz rom. And I disagree w/ you on Plabax & his skills. His goalie control has gone to a very high level & his B check is better than his C to the B check, so the drop off if he doesn't use it is minimal. He controls all one timers & passes to them extremely well. He's always scored at a high clip, but now defends well too. He's a high A+ skill level. He's also a little prick that no one likes. I get that. And does rage quit, etc, etc. He likes to use the bugs more than the regular way. That is the way of a "gamer". Any gamer is going to play all the time & practice too. A casual guy like you or me really has no real chance on a regular basis, bugs, pass shots or not. If he played w/out pass shots, and C/B checks, he'd still crush at a 85 to 90% clip anyone in B, including you or me. I just don't see the value of calling out his play when it's strong & the bug is fixed.
  5. Blitz seems to be a league that is designed to NOT have a weight bug, so unlike pass shot debates, this one seemed to smack right in the face of the core reason to have Blitz, instead of Classic. Draft a good checking team in & exi against Plabax and you quickly realize just how bad it is to have a team lighter & faster than you by miles and then also able to out check you. I've never been one to hop on the forums & byatch though. I did see how bad it was after exi'ing against Raph & Plabax (more so w/ Plabax because his team was so light), and I was the one who then PM'd smoz because, again, you can play in any league w/ any rules. Why create Blitz and fix a weight bug only to get around it? Just didn't make sense. I'd assumed once Smoz fixed the bug that goes around his original fix that it would be implemented into the newer seasons. I doubt the "fix" is in the exi rom, so hokkee having the fattest team in the game just about probably was in straight hell last night. And, Plabax doesn't need to use it to dominate, but why would he not?? I mean, I completely understand using it. And, it's something I would work on for GDL. But to me, Blitz was designed to NOT have this particular issue of light/heavy abused, and have the game play where the big boys play like big boys.
  6. I read the write up about Klima & Jagr w/ a presumed allusion to some argument w/ Plabs/someone else, about who was better, w/ the Blitz Rom in effect, not that he claimed you to own Klima and now had Jagr. Perhaps I'm wrong, and Raphy needs to smoke more. Or maybe we are both right, and Raph needs to smoke more.
  7. So, most, if not all, teams have their lines done, trade deadline has passed, long re-draft all completed, etc. Curious to know if we know what site we are using, and when we plan on starting this up. Obviously need an official ROM finalized and all that. Figured I'd ask in case someone knows.
  8. Minpind, sent you a message in aim.
  9. Brian Bellows on the block. If someone has a faster player ranked higher than him but have decided they'd want more weight, or someone with a higher ranked fatty but decided they'd like a lighter man in Bellows. I'm not looking to package anything. Just upgrade on a one for one basis if someone likes him.
  10. Good point Labs. I forgot about this. If we don't set the 3rd line (checking line) LD to your 4th defender, then it subs in a FORWARD at defense in those situations, and can lead to an odd advantage to the team on the penalty as they kill it off.
  11. St. Louis Blues Line 1 LW B. Hull C J. LeClaire RW B. Bellows LD M. McSorley RD K. Hatcher Xtra Attacker N. Emerson G Vanbiesbrook Line 2 LW B. Hull C B. Bellows RW N Emerson LD M. Petit RD J. Daigneault Backup Goalie Jablonski
  12. I'll take daignealt. If I missed that he's picked, give me B. Holder then.
  13. Only two picks missing from scrub round. Draft often goes 10-12 picks past a guy in late rounds before a name is assigned. So I I think stopping draft is worth losing time slots & finishing it up
