  1. It's one hundred percent there. And watching someone demonstrate the trick that highlights this, well it's like a sliding B check, to imagine it, and it only works cause the CPU is controlling the player when the calculation is made on impact. And, that's why Bourque & Stevens types who are really aggressive and heavy checkers are best left not used at times, as the computer will beat the piss out of the lighter player who is skating around like he's wearing titanium armor on, and the CPU's C check does actually knock them down. So, in Blitz, the fat f&cker loses this skill, and JR & Co become the new computer checkers.
  2. Ok, that didn't work. The 2v2 version of games is not uploading for JER's Toronto & my Blues team, fyi.
  3. I was able to load up the games I played w/ Probob that used the original season1pt2, but the games i played against Jer w/ season1pt2v2 is not uploading. I'm gonna try to rename it to match & see if that works.
  4. I haven't found Dcicion on AIM when I've been on, so I just tried PM'ing him as well.
  5. I'm gonna be around tonight, about 10:30 to 11 pm central. I'll try to post on AIM 15-20 mins ahead. I can also do EARLY Sat AM if that gets one of European fockers. I'm US Central, so my early would be like 7 am'sh. I have to leave at 8:30 am, so we'd have to start before 8 am. Schedule via AIM or PM me if either of these times works for you.
  6. New release preview coming out tonight. Quick video & press release I found makes it look like they definitely got it right and makes me WISH even more EA would have done this w/ the NHL94 Anniversary mode. Two buttons & simplistic play w/ modern graphics & names and some updated season controls, and behind the scenes being used to keep complicated controls for hitting, pitching, fielding, etc to make use of all the modern day stat technology. Definitely looks like a modern version of RBI Baseball. http://mlb.mlb.com/news/article/mlb/excitement-builds-on-eve-of-rbi-baseball-14-launch?ymd=20140408&content_id=71352756&vkey=news_mlb
  7. Been trying like hell to catch anyone on I've got games w/ & I've had no luck for a while now: Remaining list: Nahkahomo, Hokkeefans, BOK, Plabax, Freydey, Vocally Caged, Jer_33, SWOS, Dickon, Pearate, Icestorm, Seth & Zalex. I've been messaging away on AIM when I'm on & can play, but haven't been getting any games in. My generic hours are Mon-Fri after 10:00 pm US Central, and on Sundays, with pre-arranged, I make myself available in the am's.

IF whomever does the ROM, sees I have one, just change the second name to whatever.
  9. Blues trade C. Janney back home to Boston for Glen Wesley.
  10. Brutus trades newly drafted Russ Courtnall & Paul Coffee to Chicago for newly drafted Tomas Sandstrom & an old main stay, Chris Chelios.
  11. Janney is 75 overall & weight 7, shoots 3 w/ 4 accuracy. Solid starter for someone. Looking for similar skill set back, could be a fat type defender w/ skills. Played line 1 pre-draft w/ line changes on half the time because he had decent endurance. Figure he makes most guys line 2's still, and post draft, you might have too much depth somewhere. Would also consider any offers for Bassen, only because I HAVE to make one trade I guess, and he's a hitting machine that someone might want instead. Blues don't have much depth, so I don't have as many angles to make moves here. Let me know if you guys see something. I've been messaging as well.
  12. I'm around at night, post 10 pm US Central, which used to be standard operating hours for the two slugs in question. I've only got Witt left on my schedule.
  13. Hey Seano. We can get this going again. I'll challenge you to some King's Court. I'm not around till late tonight or Sunday, but I'll find you on AIM when we are & get our series in. Gonna bring out the Blues.
  14. The ONLY games left unplayed in this league are both against Witt or Minpind. All other coaches have 100% completed their games against each other, and probably have for some time now. So, if we have any chance of having a trade & free agent draft, you have to be up to the games played point guys. Otherwise, I'm not going to bother trying to trade with anyone, as it's not relevant right now, imo.
  15. Was playing minpind tonight, and we got one in, and game 2 was late in the 3rd when the desynch bug hit. Couldn't finish after that. Caught J&J earlier. Missed Icestorm by about a few hours in each direction. Haven't seen as many dudes on to play lately.
  16. Oh & FYI, I've been on a lot but haven't found any late night games last few weeks & even went try a few times in the day time. I'm known for playing my games, so I'll try to catch people again next week. Im pRobably tied up for this weekend.
  17. I think a replacement coach in an advanced league should be picked by the commissioner based on talent & desire to catch a team up, not solely on your place in line. I think when filling a league, you use next up, because you already know up front you are adding multiple guys & will end up w/ lesser talent blended on. I know if a heavy hitter took my spot before I joined I wouldn't like it but would understand & waited for the next opening.
  18. There is a cord for sound if you use the VGA instead of HDMI. I use both. My VGA cord is like 50 ft, but the sound cord is short, so if I want to play from the couch by the back wall, I use VGA w/ out the sound. If I want the sound, I use the HDMI cord, since I'll be plugging up close anyway. If I can't find the HDMI cord, I use the VGA & sound cord up and pull a chair up to the TV! Nothing lag related on the movement part though. It's straight perception cause it's up on the big screen on the wall and I think I was sitting too close or something perhaps. I keep my cable box way the f&ck away from my TV, and run the HDMI cable through the ceiling and down into the wall so you don't actually see I have a cable box in my living room. This some times cause a small amount of lag on the cable feed. So, I imagine if you had a really long HDMI cord and hooked your computer up to the TV from across the room, you might get some lag. Where my cable box is located has nothing to do with how the computer hooks up to the TV, just an example of if you use a really long HDMI cable, you will experience a delay. The HDMI cord I use is short, and the joystick cord is extended, so I don't get lag playing on my TV. I think you need to take distance into account if you switch to HDMI more so than VGA. I experienced no delays w/ the long VGA.
  19. I bid on all my players during the auction for penalties off, figuring the need to use the C check over the B check, and think it was one of the reasons I did well given my lack of SNES experience, imo. My team was big & fast. In my limited SNES exhibs for Classic, I actually HATE getting rammed by the goalie & given a penalty. It's WAY WAY more common than the opposite thing that Fank alludes to, which does happen, especially by my team, where we LIVE in the goalie's crease, attacking & ramming away!! Still, even as odd as it is to see the offense attacking the goalie, it's LESS ODD than the goalie running around & knocking the sh&t out of the other team & giving them 2 minute penalties. For me, if you put penalties on w/ 0 seconds, it's a great compromise. What most guys want is to be able to B Check, and ramming the goalie at least causes a stop in play, and gives the chance of a 6 on 5 until the puck is re-captured. I've played a version like this on Gens, and it was fun. 5 minute periods w/ 2 minute penalties is beyond gay anyway. I think even 1 minute is too long, especially given most just want to use B check or not reward the goalie ram. My vote is to leave it OFF, but if you put penalties on, I would then vote 0 seconds, or 30 seconds, and anything over that, I am throwing my arms up in revolt!!! As for trading, I like Fank's cap trade idea, so you can move a player & some cap. Unfortunately, I do believe that for at least HALF of the league, based on their auction issues w/ the cap, this would probably cause additional chaos. If everyone is for it, and trades like this subject to league approval, I'd be in for it. But, would be wary of causing more turmoil. And, for cutting players, I believe that 50% that season cap hit for the 1st season is cool. I do not agree w/ the 25% idea, but I would be Ok w/ not having to hit them 50% every season. If you wanted to penalize the duration of the contract, maybe 50% first season and then 10% each one after that. But my vote would be 50% that season only. However, if you implemented Fank's cap trading, then I would think you do the 50% per season penalty as it gives legit value to salary cap trades. Thanks a million to you guys for letting me join the Darkside for a season. I had fun. Congrats to Big Bob & Little Fank on their titles.
  20. I've actually done this before & it's a lot of fun, especially w/ the sound cord as well, and the hits blasting from behind w/ a good surround sound. I play most of my games when the kids are in bed, so I rarely get to do this, as it wakes everyone up, and find that I play worse cause everything seems to move a little faster up on the big screen for whatever reason. That said, everything before you load the game up will obviously look night & day, and you can actually easily read all the screens, forums you load, etc, but the in game, I just found it to have a glossier version of large, ugly looking animation hockey dudes. Did not make it look like a modern day version of the game at all!
  21. Maybe consider doing a GENS C & D or just a D for Spring. If the new guys drop out, it's always easy to get a few vets to sub in later on. The A & B crowd have a few other leagues they easily got into, but I think to keep guys joining the site, and continuing to grow the "population" to offset the losses over time, having the Classic seems to be the best recruit tool. I know it's what got me online, as the other leagues have wait list &&&& huge delays often between seasons, so a guy signs up for the wait list & is gone by the time his name comes around. And maybe any vets that are needed to fill in team needs take LOWER level teams to keep up the entertainment value for all parties involved.
