  1. This game is in our wheelhouse. Wonder what kind of power my computer would need to run this game?
  2. Thanks chaos you have been a wealth of info!
  3. Ha! was woundering which jersey he was wearing. Was hoping for a Rober Reichel jersey. Great tune
  4. I think I may of just made a new NHL 95 best friend..... If you are an NHL 95er check out our site www.segathon.com which is all about NHL 95. Love it when a hear people with big brains working on these games, I have put in a lot of time but my expertise ends with MS Paint.... Welcome to the boards!
  5. Thanks for the info, have not ordered yet. So X3 and X5 if they have a save battery, they will save (example NHL 95) Leaning towards X3 now if going with NES one as well. Would like save states but getting the X7 and NES is a whole lotta moola.
  6. Oh so X3 doesnt do save states? I'll do x5 Then, may have to pick up the NES version as well....
  7. Ha! I didn't want a mail order bride tagged on to my order with my everdrive. One wife's nagging is enough
  8. One last question about to pull the trigger but they want me to pay through eservice on the krikzz.com pretty sure it is legit but want to double check if anyone else has used it. Thanks
  9. Thanks for clearing that up. will get the X3.
  10. I think I am going to bit the bullet and get one of these. There are so many variations now. X7, X5, X3 Any recommends? https://krikzz.com/store/
  11. Seth hit the nail on the head with Ice Hockey. It nuts when you have to defend a shot with the goalie while trying to get your Defense in as well to check. Plus you have the NES staple mutton mash fight. Ice Hockey is a simply game that holds up great and you could pop it in today and play against someone for a while and it would be fun. Just played it a month ago and sadly my team Poland was routed by the burley Swedes, skinny guys are s**t! Blades is worth owning and looks great when you consider it's an 8 bit game, has fighting, and doesn't it have a little 3 period space ship video game built in? Have not played it in a while but I remember liking it but it was no ice hockey.
  12. Sorry I missed it. Sounded like you unlocked the formula for a great event. You had the right mix of High Stakes/Fun time with playing NHL 94 competitively, and the other games to goof around a bit. We had an ode to Retrothon at the same time while in Nebraska on a road trip. Played NHL 95, Mutant League Football, General Chaos, NBA Jam on GENS and Baseball Stars, Superspike Vball, Ice Hockey and RC Pro AM on NES.
  13. Good to hear the progress. I think you are on the right track catering to the general population to enjoy it be seeing NHL players etc. Will you be able to put in the swingers scene? That seems to cement NHL 16 Bit in pop culture. You'll just have to do a directors cut for us uber nerds... You'll just have to do a directors cut for us.
  14. Nice, will have to try out. Never had RBI Baseball growing up. Everyone talk about how great it was. My Baseball games of choice were Baseball Stars and Dusty Diamond's Allstar Softball.
  15. Thanks for posting! Your NOSE has been essential to this community. You should check in more often.
  16. The Big Finnish Tourney is having their 10th Anniversary tomorrow. https://twitter.com/NHL95turnaus/status/767968999917387776 Some people dream big, my dream right now is to go to Finland on my private jet to play NHL 95. Hang around for a couple weeks in Europe then fly to Saskatoon for Retrothon.
  17. Online Tecmo is big on call the match up. But keeping the same team is good for a few games so you can get used to the team. Here's one pretty chart that breaks down the teams. SF rarely gets called as Montana to Rice you can bomb all day and not worry about INT's. I love Tecmo, it is a great game of strategy when played at a high level, My only complaint is if you can tap faster than the other player you have a distinct advantage.
  18. Thanks guys, Hope to do a big one at a bar again some year and will try to get all you guys out for it. The 97 vs 98 is our High School Graduation year. The Evil 97ers started this thing and we were the "little brothers" that tagged along in everything. Eventually after saying our prayers and taking our vitamins per advice of Hulk Hogan we (98) have been able to beat them up. Been doing this in some form for over 20 years, and have been logging it since 2006. This last one we did 9 on 9 instead of 4 on 4. Ryder Cup is by far the funnest event and it does not take a lot of buds to pull off. Tecmo guys play a version with "slappys" where once a game you can slap the controller out of the opponents hand. May have to institute it. Just googled a flight to Saskatoon ($500) for Retrothon, but then realized I'll be in Nebraska that weekend. Will be playing NHL95 all the way to Nebraska then going to watch the Gophers get killed by the Huskers. Make sure to keep the Twitter feed going on Retrothon so I can follow.
  19. Just thought I'd post here to put some new stories in the ol NHL 95 portion of the forum. Posted a recap of the Segathon NHL 95 Tourney http://www.segathon.com/segathon-2016/ Only 8 months after the event was held...
