  1. This looks like a lot of fun and an absolute blast to the past! Thanks for the hard work!
  2. Just curious to know if anyone has edited either of those ROMs.
  3. I should clarify that I do know a cheesy way to score from NHL 96 onwards: skate into the zone at the corner points with a shooter whose handedness matches the point (i.e. left-handed shooter in the left point, right-handed shooter in the right point) (after more experimenting it looks like backhanders work too) and take a slapshot aimed for the lower near corner of the goal. This works really well going downwards, and the goalie AI always seems to have a hard time with it. Going upwards it works less well but it still can do the trick. You want the shot to be off within the first two, maybe three segments of the wall. The more accurate and harder the shot, the better, but some goalies have a hard time with even slow backhanders!
  4. LOL, okay, good to know that offense is not the easiest to come by!
  5. I usually only play '94, but I'm trying out some of these newer editions. I'm finding it hard to score goals in, for example, the IIHF 99 ROM. Does anyone have any gameplay videos or just goal-scoring tips?
  6. EA has pretty much given up on Nintendo in case you didn't notice. You go to EA's "library" page for the Switch and they list eleven games: four are the awful FIFA games they ported from two generations ago, and two are remakes of older games (Burnout and Need For Speed). Kind of ridiculous considering how well the Switch has sold but they know where they make their money and they want to exploit that.
  7. As a Penguins fan, I am troubled by the omission of Pierre-Olivier Joseph (Zach Trotman can be dumped), and it's Zach Aston-Reese, not Auston-Reese. Two little nits I'm picking for what is otherwise a great ROM!
  8. Every once in a while when I'm playing, I will unintentionally start to take a shot but I can seemingly cancel it out by pressing the B (pass) button quickly, and I'll get a sound like a piece of paper being ripped quickly (hard to describe). Has anyone else experienced that?
  9. Thanks for the bonk on the head! I've never been very good at playing online, but I'm still very much alive regardless!
  10. Looks like the ROM makers will have to get KRAKEN on the logo and colors!
  11. The game automatically tries to save after you complete a three-game series, and that's when it hangs, regardless of what you choose. At least, that's been my experience!
  12. Looking forward to 99OVR Sam Lafferty and Adam Johnson for the Penguins!
  13. It's my favorite time of year, and this ROM makes it even better!
  14. NHL '94 wishes it was as deep and editable as SWOS! That being said, what is so new and up-to-date about this version of SWOS? Looking at the rosters, are they just using the best single-season lineups of all-time?
  15. It's probably the emulator then, no worries.
  16. I went to play this ROM in OpenEmu (Mac emulator) and all of the players' names are blank! Is it also not playable in season mode?
  17. I would love to see this, but every time I go to play a season in Sports Talk Baseball it fails to get past the first save point.
  18. Besides NHL '94, '96 is probably my second-favorite 16-bit generation NHL games (that sounded too specific)
  19. I wonder if there's a way to prevent the puck from going out of play at all? Just for fun...
  20. Thank you as always skip and slapshot67, I am a big fan of your edits!
