  1. How can this code you added be added to the same gens-netplaysave.exe" file that we use? This is key. Edit: I mean this is key, unless the version that Atomic worked on has the ability to save during Netplay already... does it?
  2. Describe the problem? We can help troubleshoot the AIM beast...
  3. I think this league has fizzled out. I frequently have posted on AIM for games, and found the last post was from me, the day before.
  4. Yeah, the way it saves now is not optimal. We need one button: save. Then auto-increment as you suggest, so it would be: nhl94-1.gs for first save nhl94-2.gs for next, etc. OR have it do a time stamp with date and time, like: nhl94-2016-10-21-211721.gs for now (Oct 21,2016 at 9h:17m:21s) What do you think?
  5. Ok, I am interested in making a ROM that has these fixes: From above: 1. Record number of checks per player in a game (no after whistle checks). 2. Fix the assist bug where it doesn't remember the 2nd assist in a passing play goal if the scorer touches the puck twice 3. Fix the bug that causes one-timers to not count as successful passes. Then, from the "'Thread guide' in the Gens editing section": 4. Make the edit lines ratings match the actual on-ice ratings In my opinion, these tweaks should be the Classic ROM. None of them affect gameplay, they all just help record stats correctly. (And #4 helps you see stats correctly.) Does a ROM like this already exist?
  6. Out! (Wish I was in, but it is too late for me.)
  7. Regarding the hidden bonus that IS applied (see my point #3 in original post)... Say that Mogilny has the hottest bonus he can, a +8. Questions: 4. Does that mean that his speed and agility will be 116!!!?? (That is, 6*18 = 108, and 108 + 8 is 116!) 5. Do these calculated numbers get used "as is", or do they somehow get "rounded down" or further altered? (I am just wondering if 116 is really the same as 100, in that it tops out or something? And maybe 90-99 is the same, and 80-89, etc.?)
  8. Interesting. So, bottom line is looking at the Hot and Cold screen, or the in-game player stats (through "Edit Lines") is a complete waste of time. Yet people do it all the time. (I have known for some time Hot and Cold was (supposedly) off, but I thought the Edit Lines attributes were correct. I have wasted hours of my life looking at these ratings... dayum. Now I know better; 20 or so years later.)
  9. Ok, thanks, Smozoma. I knew others hacked too, so I should have been more specific. I am looking for a definitive list of "logic hacks", so I can see what logic tweaks can be added to the game, like the couple you listed n post #1. Is there a complete list somewhere?
  10. Hey that is really cool! Yeah, slow-mo instant replay looks great! (And Roy and Belfour are in their own class!)
  11. So, to be clear, are you confirming all 3 of my points are correct?
  12. Two questions: 1. Is Smozoma the only guy who has ever made hacks/patches? 2. Is there a definitive list of all the hacks/patches available? ** ** I did a search and came up with this thread, but there are only a couple hacks here, and I know he has a lot more.
  13. Ok, I have read "Hot / Cold Effect" from Raph's site, here: http://nhl94strategy.com/?page_id=201 Do I understand it right? For the unhacked Classic ROM: 1. The HOT/COLD screen is useless (does not indicate who is hot or cold correctly) 2. The displayed player attributes (when you are in-game and go to "Edit Lines") are also useless (as in, they are incorrect) BUT 3. There really is a HOT or COLD effect, and it is applied to each attribute (all are hot or all are cold), but there is no way to see this effect. You need to "feel" it. DO I have it right?
  14. Raph, please quit your job and get to: 1. The Art of Checking 2. Manual Goalie Control Looking forward to the words of wisdom!
  15. Well the Zip package includes the old one, and the new is a separate download. The Zip package should include the New Kaillera not old. Can someone fix that? It is hard enough on noobs trying to figure stuff out without this wrinkle. (Yes, you can say it is not that big a deal to download and put the new one in place, but why not have the one that is used 99% of the time in place to begin with?)
  16. Yeah, feedback would be great! Seems like we all agree you are a good guy and are sorry to lose you. Giving feedback on your experience would be appreciated.
  17. We're getting hung up on one word here. Slacking (and not finishing) is worse than announcing you are quitting. But announcing you are quitting THREE LEAGUES AT ONCE, well, that is... er... a selfish act "byatch move". (Though making an announcnment, and not just disappearing is appreciated.) Ba55 seems like a good guy. I like him. Quitting 3 leagues at once, because you "lost the desire", is garbage behavior. You can be a good guy and still make a bad/selfish decision.
  18. I understand walking away, too. And I don't know the particulars. But I would never walk away in the middle of a season. Get the games in, complete the season, THEN retire. Note: Of course, if there is a medical emergency or family crisis, I would walk away mid-season. But "Not feeling it"? Not cool.
  19. Raph gave great advice. It is appreciated. (I hold my head in shame as I write this next part.) I lost 4 straight to FPB last night. And yes, he even potted some of those pass goals he mentioned. What can I say, the guy has skillz.
  20. AND DON'T CALL ME NERD!!!! I WILL DESTROY YOU!!!!! THAT'S IT!!!!!!!
  21. Now? Because 9pm is 3 hours away? Huh?
  22. Wow, Raph! I absolutely will record it, and appreciate that offer! (I actually record all of my games, though a crash wrecks the Krecs, which is not infrequent.) Also, thanks a lot for the many points! All great ideas!
  23. Important note: This has not happened! YET! FPB is one of the highest skilled players, and finished near the top of the league. Aqualizard is a poor player all around! On paper, and off of paper, and in every way imaginable, FPB is likely to win 4 games straight! Unless.... You tell me my best strategy to beat him!! Me: I won 19 games, had a Goals Against AVG of 5.04, and Goals for of 3.43. In short, I score rarely and give up lots of goals! My one saving grace is I have Mogilny, and was able to get about 2,5 PPG with him. (Yes, I know that is a sad PPG for 89!) My tender is Ranford which is decent enough (unless I take control, which I often do). Him: Won 47 games, with a GA of 3.29, and GF of 6.04! He scores lots, with Verbeek (121 goals), Hogue (78) and D-man Paul Coffee (56). In net he has Belfour, which hardly seems fair. What should my strategy be? Currently I am thinking don't even try for one timers (he will clog up for sure) and move Mogs to wing, and give him the puck as much as possible and try to score with dekes? For D, I have no good plan. Just plug the middle up (don't chase). In general, what is a good strategy when one is severely outmatched? Of course more specific advice is appreciated, too! Join in the fun and help me take this malcontent down!!!
  24. FPB, Wed (tonight) no longer possible.. I made a separate thread to schedule: http://forum.nhl94.com/index.php/topic/17749-round-1-aqua-calling-fpb/
