clockwise
I've been following Adam Gretz on Fanhouse for the last couple of weeks as he catalogs the NHL's (current) top 50 players.. He reached #1 today and though it would bring some healthy dialog to the forums. And again this is not my personal list, it's Adam Gretz's. #50 Shane Doan #49 Brenden Morrow #48 Paul Stastny #47 Patrick Kane #46 Dan Boyle #45 Brian Rafalski #44 Shea Weber #43 Tomas Kaberle #42 Andrei Markov #41 Scott Niedermayer #40 Kimmo Timonen #39 Johan Franzen #38 Anze Kopitar #37 Jay Bouwmeester #36 Jeff Carter #35 Dion Phaneuf #34 Jason Spezza #33 Marian Gaborik #32 Daniel Alfredsson #31 Evgeni Nabokov #30 Thomas Vanek #29 Sergei Gonchar #28 Alexander Semin #27 Martin St. Louis #26 Mike Green #25 Niklas Backstrom #24 Marc Savard #23 Mike Richards #22 Zach Parise #21 The Sedin Twins #20 Rick Nash #19 Ryan Getzlaf #18 Eric Staal #17 Chris Pronger #16 Danny Heatley #15 Marian Hossa #14 Vincent Lecavlier #13 Ilya Kovalchuk #12 Zdeno Chara #11 Martin Brodeur #10 Henrik Lundqvist #9 Joe Thornton #8 Henrik Zetterberg #7 Niklas Lidstrom #6 Roberto Luongo #5 Jerome Iginla #4 Pavel Datsyuk #3 Sidney Crosby #2 Alexander Ovechkin #1 Evgeni Malkin

HABS
Doan definitely deserves to be there dont know what your talking about... I agree with most of the list, probably not this order though. Also ward and fleury missing wtf.
RedWingDevil
Top 5 I don't argue, but at least a few guys should be a little higher.

Also ward and fleury missing wtf. Not at the expense of someone like Ales Hesmky. Ales is way more talented and has a better PPG than Doan. There's also Simon Gagné, if you want to use the ''he got more goals'' argument Nicklas Backstrom of the WSH Caps is also no where to be found So is Michael Cammaleri and Mike Ribeiro. Also Lecavalier doesn't belong there anymore, 67 points in 77 game. And don't bring the shitty teamates thing, St-Louis and Prospal are sure better than Ales' Horcoff+Nobody and Ribeiro Eriksson+Bruunstrom
HABS
#25 Niklas Backstrom Hemsky over Doan? barf Vinny had a 1 bad season on a horrendous hockey club.

Niklas is the GOALIE (MIN) Nicklas is the CENTER (WSH) Get your facts straight. But still Backstrom is way better than Doan, so is Gagné and Cammalerie. The Russian Rocket
i dunno, just try doan with ovechkin or iginla, just for fun Look up Buddy, Ribeiro and Hemsky, both better stats, both playing with total dipshits. (Exept for last season in which Ribeiro had Morrow)

The Russian Rocket
Would it be arguable to include Mark Streit? 60 points and a + with the Islanders
shaftman
I definitely disagree with this list. and I think a proper list would have to be a top 100. A lot of vets and young talent that deserve mention that arent on this list.

A lot of vets and young talent that deserve mention that arent on this list. So you are disagreeing with the list being 50 players in length? I personally think that #1 isn't high enough for Malkin. But otherwise, I find no value in these lists as hockey is not a 1 on 1 game, therefore making it very difficult and highly subjective to accurately rank the talent of players. But really... what I'm trying to say is that the entire Pittsburgh Penguin roster should be ranked ahead of the entire Philadelphia Flyers roster. Ok that's all.
