Connection Test

http://www.pingtest.net/

finally found a site that tests what actually matters - ping, packet loss, and jitter.

It tests your connection quality by sending some data to a PingTest server. It analyzes how many packets are lost (hopefully 0%), how long it takes to send each packet (aka 'ping', hopefully under 50ms), and the variation in ping times (aka 'jitter', hopefully less than 10ms)

  1. go to site
  2. Click a server (pyramid or star icon) on the map, close to where you live
  3. if your firewall gives a warning, allow it
  4. wait about 30 seconds while it does the test
  5. it'll display your results
  6. click "forum link" under the test result. This copies a link to display the test results on the forum
  7. in this forum, hit Add Reply, then paste in the code. submit.
  8. done!

this is pretty nifty, although im not totally sure what 'jitter' refers too.

your average ping was 17, but the average difference from 17 was 2.. so most of your pings were from 15-19

Tucson is the nearest area for me, so here's my test. This site doesn't seem to cover the northeast of Mexico, it seems =/
