GENS B Vegas ODDS

Recommended Posts

For fun (and by request), here is a shot at the GENS B odds. (Update: BOLD indicates winner)

Full Disclosure: I have never played egorde, Logan, or cory. Used info from others and last year results. Place your wagers and let me see where I messed up the lines!

Bet with your head, not over it.

ODDS TO WIN DIVISION

Patrick

Detroit – kupuck -150 (Solid player with a great team)

NY Islanders – Houly +300 (Good player, but the team will hold him back)

Tampa Bay – Kingraph +650 (Tough competition in the division, TB won't do it)

Adams

Buffalo – gretzkyonacold -110 (Strong team, improved coach from Spring'11)

Boston - egorde +200 (Based on previous season, can do well enough to win)

Edmonton – robro +500 (Will be tough with EDM to take out Buffalo and Boston)

Smythe

Toronto – Smozoma -110 (Fan favorite to win it all, but tough division)

Quebec -Logan +250 (Rumored solid B/A. Rust an issue?)

Chicago – Pearate +250 (CHI will cause havoc in any league)

Norris

Calgary - eggink444 -110 (Last year's "C" champ, should do well with CAL)

Winnipeg - dan_lizhot +350 (Control Selanne and his speed and you could do damage)

Dallas – cory +350 (Manual G big with DAL, can he do it?)

ODDS TO WIN GENS B CUP

Toronto – Smozoma +300

Detroit – kupuck +450

Quebec –Logan +500

NY Islanders – Houly +800

Chicago – Pearate +800

Boston - egorde +900

Tampa Bay – Kingraph +1500

Buffalo – gretzkyonacold +1800

Calgary - eggink444 +1800

Looks pretty spot on to me. Pearate has way too good a price on him!

ProBob will be delighted he's been discounted! He'll not thank me for saying it, but trust me, he's gonna tear it up with EDM!!

One thing's for sure. I think with the exception of a handful of players "B" will be a very low scoring championship, with nearly everyone taking points off nearly everyone else. With the potential for playoff upsets I can see this being anybody's to be honest! Good luck everyone!

I'm taking all longshots and hope one covers:

Patrick - Kingraph - can he overcome Tampa? Why not, he killed me in pre-season.

Adams - egorde - I wanted Boston, so I can see them winning.

Smythe - Pearate - always solid and Chicago - glad I'm not in this division!

Norris - Cory - Pretty sure Cory wiped me out in '11

Champ:

Detroit (kupuck)and Chicago (Pearate) - best teams!

Small saver bet on KingRaph and Tampa.

My $1,000 bet:

Ummm, I have to bet it all on myself right? $1k to win the cup. No TANKON here!

However, IF I would pick bets for the other division winners:

Robro - EDM (+500)

Logan - QUE (+250)

Cory - DAL (+350)

Cup - Smoz (TOR) +300

See Probob, someone likes you. lol ;)

Week 1 Checkpoint Status:

Based on winning percentage, 3 of the 4 division favorites are winning.

Patrick

Kupuck (9-2) is still the favorite in the Patrick division. Houly is out, replaced by patstew19 (1-16) who is having a hard time with the NYI. kingraph (12-7) has a chance for the division, but much will depend on the 5-game series between left to play between kupuck (DET) and kingraph (TB).

Adams

As predicted, gretzkyonacold (15-10) is leading the division in a close one. Robro (9-8) has come out much stronger than predicted and can win this division too with a great defense of EDM. egorde (5-10) has stumbled out of the gate and will need to go on a hot streak to take this division.

Norris

eggink (4-3) is currently has the best win percentage, but only has 7 games played. Danlizhot (16-16) and Cory (10-20) have played many more, so eggink will have to maintain that >.500 record to hold on the division. Dan has also done better than the +350 odds that opened up originally.

Smythe

The toughest division in the B league is currently being dominated by Pearate (CHI) who is 8-1. Smozoma follows with an 8-5 record, with Logan on the bottom at 5-4. Still too early to tell as all 3 have yet to play their 5-game division series. Nonetheless, the Pearate odds (+250 division, +800 cup) are looking like the #1 threat to put the kingraph sportsbook out of business!

LOL. Told u! No idea where u got those odds from?! 2nd place in B last season with BUF, now playing with CHI. Had to be the favourite from the start! Also, has a sneaky little tactic of only playing 1 game at a time, rather than the full series in one sitting, which prevents anyone getting up a head of steam against him............i'm on to you Pearate! ;)

Do you want a job working at a fabulous sportsbook? The pay is terrible and the benefits suck, plus there's no real room for advancement or personal growth. But it's FUN! :D

Sorry HABS, I was just joking on this one (referring to the completely fake kingraph sportsbook  )

While on the topic, I'm currently listening to the "Behind the Bets" podcast with Chad Millman, which is all about sports betting. You may enjoy it, if you don't listen to it already. Though, it is heavily geared toward the NFL right now.

Week 3 Checkpoint Status:

With 64% of the season completed, 3 of the 4 division favorites are winning (based on win %).

Patrick

Kupuck (13-5) is still the favorite in the Patrick division. patstew19 (1-26) continues to struggle with the NYI and is probably looking forward to the Spring'11 Classic. Being a C replacement player thrown into the B league with a very weak team was tough, to say the least. kingraph (19-11) still has a chance for the division, and still as 3 games left against Kupuck (DET). The teams split their first two games.

Adams

gretzkyonacold (22-14) is leading the division over Robro (14-16), with 4 games left. 3 against Logan (QUE) and 1 against smozoma (TOR), all of which will be very tough. Robro has 10 games left, and he has to go 9-1 to take over the division. A tough task. egorde (6-12) remains on the bottom, but still has 22 games left to play.

Norris

eggink (10-10) is currently has the best win percentage, and is halfway through the season. Danlizhot has wrapped up his season with a 19-21 record, right under .500. Finally, Cory (10-21) will not be able to take the division, with 9 games left. It's up to eggink to maintain that .500 record to hold on the division.

Smythe

Just as in week 1, the toughest division in the B league is currently being dominated by Pearate (CHI) who is 18-4. Logan has come on strong with a 17-5 record to follow and Smozoma at 10-9 falls to the bottom. Things can still move around quite a bit as all 3 teams have yet to play their 5-game division series against one another.

Patstew has been awesome. Got totally shafted with a god awful team. Hopefully he can get registered in time for Spring classic & start with at least a half decent team! He'll do fine.

As for me, i'm delighted with my season. Yeah, I have 4 tough games left, but if I lose all 4 i'll still have had a great season. With the exception of 1 or 2 (Patstew, as mentioned has been shafted. lol. Pearate with Chicago I think would be competitive in A) we're all pretty similar standard in B I think, so a + 0.500 season, regardless of which team you have is a positive thing.

Nice to see GENS B flying the lag with NO DROPOUTS OR REPLACEMENTS all season, unless you count the Houli debacle on the 1st day?! lol

the power hungry "LArobbie" is my favorite. but i love you 2 smoz because u can do it!

Haha. I'm "power hungry" 'cos I said I didn't have the "power" to let you be a GENS replacement.

How i'm the favourite too when 4 guys currently have better records than me, (2 of which have a worse team than me) I don't know?!! :(

Looking forward to playoffs whatever. GENS B has proven to be a very competitive, and trouble free league!

I like my chances - it's either hit or miss with me & Calgary! I could see how they'd be a great team if you can figure out how to stop both defensemen from rushing on every play.

Week 5 (30 game minimum) Checkpoint Status:

No big changes in the standings these last two weeks, but we're at 81% of the season completed! One note: Gretzkyonacold, the favorite (-110) to win the Adam division has mathematically clinched! Congrats!

Patrick

Kupuck (19-9) will most likely take this division as predicted. He is 4 points behind kingraph (21-16), but has 12 games left to play -- 3 of them against kingraph. The nightmare for patstew19 (2-35) is almost over as he just has a 3 game series left against Logan (QUE). With GENS C needing replacements, I'd hope he gets a chance to play some competitive games with a better team.

Adams

gretzkyonacold finished 22-18 and has clinched the division! RoBro (17-20) also has a 3 game series against Logan (QUE) to wrap up the season. He still has a chance to make the playoffs, but Logan is tough and winning 2-3 games will prove difficult. egorde (16-19) played a bunch of games these last two week, and has 5 games remaining. Just like RoBro, he can make the playoffs, but has to play 3 games vs smozoma (TOR) and 2 vs DET (kupuck), all tough games. Will be interesting to see if either guy can get in to the playoffs!

Norris

eggink (18-12) went 8-2 these past two weeks and is now a virtual lock to win this division. He is 2 points behind nhl94dan and has 10 games left. nhl94dan is holding on to the final playoff spot with his 19-21 record, and that might be just enough to get in. Finally, Cory (10-21) did not play any games these last two weeks and remains out of the playoff picture.

Smythe

This division is the toughest, and ALL coaches are behind the weekly checkpoints for games played. That can be a major factor at the end of the season, where 2 points are deducted for games not played (with exceptions). Pearate (CHI) is now 20-7, still leading the division, and conference. He would be the #1 seed now. Logan only played one game this past two weeks and he sits with a strong 17-6 record, but has 17 games left (7 behind this weeks checkpoint). Smozoma managed to get 4 games in this week and is now at 13-10. Also 7 games behind the minimum checkpoint. Again, all 3 teams have a 5 game series to play against each other, so that will be a nice chunk if they can play them all at once. Let's get it together boys!

CURRENT PLAYOFF PICTURE

Conference winners are top two seeds, next 6 make it in

Based on win %, however, there is a 2 point deduction for games not played at the end, which could really affect the standings, particularly in the strong Smythe Division.

1 - West Conference Winner - Pearate (CHI) .741

2 - East Conference Winner - Kupuck (DET) .679

3 - Logan (QUE) .739

4 - Eggink (CAL) .600

5 - kingraph (TB) .568

6 - smozoma (TOR) .565

7 - Gretzkyonacold (BUF) .550

8 - nhl94dan (WPG) .475

1) - Woo hoo! lol

2) - Unfortunately Logan has til end of today to get some major games in, otherwise he'll be replaced. I hope it doesn't happen 'cos he's one of the B favourites, but he's so far behind, and has been since the start, and a number of guys are just waiting on him. Not fair to the others to let it continue. COME ON LOGAN! LETS GET IT DONE!!!

I have two midterms to write today but will be home after 8. Really don't want to get replaced here, I've been trying to catch some of the other coaches on AIM, but so far luck and my hectic schedule haven't been working in my favor. Really appreciate the patience, if I fail to get some games in a replacement is just and best of luck to whoever picks up where I left off.

Smoz, I'll be looking for you tonight, let's knock off our series and get caught up, old buddy.
