NHL’94 SUPER NINTENDO HIGHLIGHTS

Recommended Posts

(Xstioph @ Jun 24 2007, 07:40 AM)

So.. I finally put together a video of my own. Installed and fooled around a bit with Adobe Premiere yesterday, and some today.

Some goals and hits and stuff. My favorite is probably the one where Owen Nolan flips the puck over a defender and then Sundin one times it while it's in the air! It's just clips with me vs cpu for now. I have a friend who I play frequently with, but we never recorded any stuff, will probably do so in the future though!

Heh, thanks man.. :P Actually it was your video that introduced me to the flip pass goals, so thanks again! :D

Too bad they're so random though, hard to call it skill, but they're still really cool when you get it right. And it seems to work better and better, so I guess you can learn to do it to some rate, but it's gotta be almost impossible to "master".. I was actually only pixels away from making another Nolan-Sundin:ish goal yesterday.

And btw.. #22 in Chicago is Christian Ruuttu :þ

Case was at my place to see if we could be teammates vs another online SNES NHL'94 player in zbattle.

It worked half the time. The other times the games were not sync.

We also played 2 games with (Me, Case and Smith) vs. the computer.

Smith was (Orange star)

Good times Smith!

Nice flip pass by Smith in the second video!

Thanks to Jeff and Case for letting me be third man. It's fun getting to play away from the puck for a change plus I got my first and only flip-pass assist, mine didn't look quite as smooth as your other vids :P but I'll take it.

This doesn't mean I've gone to the dark side.

I've played some NHL '94 Genesis just to prove I'm not biased to the SNES.

This is in response to a Genesis guy in the SNES League Writeups a place he shouldn't have

commented in. I don't go into the Genesis fricken League Writeups.

Genesis NHL '94 doesn't have defense control but SNES NHL '94 does.

So SNES you can pick the last left and right defenseman back with the L and R buttons.

The Genesis '94 you have to hold the B button down to pick the goalie and by that time a lot of pucks are already in the net.

After a goal or penalty shot the Genesis goalies can't come out of the crease but SNES goalies can.

When you poke check with the Genesis goalie he turns into a player unlike SNES goalies.

In Genesis you can't rock a guy into the bench all the way like you can in SNES.

Genesis has no exit menu and the profiles are black and white.

The Genesis slap shots are harder but like SNES they hardly ever go in.

The deking in Genesis is not as good.So why would I change.

You have more control of your team with SNES.

Some people go off saying Genesis NHL'93 is the best.

Isn't there no one timers in that game so how can it compare to '94.

So gameplay cannot be as good as '94 but yeah the fighting and blood is cool.

The Genesis '94 you have to push 2 buttons to pick the goalie and by that time a lot of pucks are already in the net.

I push both the buttons and there is still a second of delay.

What two buttons are you pushing? It's supposed to just be that you hold down the 'B' button. Are you combining that with another button?

I do wish there was a quick goalie control for the GENS version. If I could change one thing about the game, that would be it.

In Genesis you can’t rock a guy into the bench all the way like you can in SNES.

I think you can, actually.

Thanks for clearing that up for me addisonbr about holding the button down to be the goalie.

The Genesis NHL'94 guys don't go into the bench they wobble on the top of the bench.

Wow, I'm honored! :)

You see, I've re-uploaded both of my highlights videos, to get rid of the black borders that cut of the sides of the screen. I kept the old ones going for a month or so. You can also find the updated links in my signature.

But here they are as well.. Video #1

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mOoxBTqL45g

Video #2

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aN7zz_eHTNo

Edit.. Uhm, now I noticed that there has reappeared a new pair of borders, what the hell.. Compared with my other videos, but they were fine, and then compared with the old versions of the highlight videos, and wow, those cut off were actually even worse now (twice as big of a border, jikes, takes up half of the screen). >_< God I wish you could just change the source of a video so you wouldn't have to re-upload just to change something (yeah, I get why, hehe).
