saintsfan2500
did you get alot of assists or did you score with him?
trudatman
that would be 10+ saves with each goalie and nobody else with more than a point, right?
OmegaRed
Each goalie played a period, they got a shutout each.... i guess. My players point did not seem to affect the fact that the goalie had 100% save each. Also one game i did 13 goal with Lemieux and had the shutout. Lemieux had first star... So at some point a shutout is not enough.
trudatman
mmm... yeah, ten points is the threshhold, I think. good stuff.
crash46
Pretty sure a goalie needs only one save with no GA to get a star. Sometimes he can get a star if he allows one goal but a lot of saves, but I never figured out what that threshold is...maybe 40.
smozoma
Don't know about the SNES version, but in the Genesis version, the 3 stars are determined based on these values: 11,000 per goal 10,100 per assist 10 per shot or save (non-tied game) 100 per shot or save (tied game) 32,000 save percentage >= 0.95 75,000 shutout so a shutout is worth more than 9 goals (75,000 + 32,000 = 107,000 .. plus shots) I think it also checks that a goalie has played at least a whole period plus 6 seconds, so this would be impossible on the Genesis version. You might be able to get a star with a 0-save shutout? I'm not clear on all the goalie details, other than how much a 95 sv% and a shutout is. trudatman
11,000 per goal 101,00 per assist is this a comma for the thousands place or a European decimal comma? Edited March 22, 2013 by trudatman

crash46
The Gens version also assigns a value for game winning goals in OT (he's almost always the #1 star). The SNES doesn't do such a thing.
Bo Knows NHL94
http://forum.nhl94.com/index.php?/topic/1689-3-stars-bug/ This was the best topic ever, just look at all those responses.

Oh yeah, I think the OT winner was automatically the first star, no matter what
