SNES Wins the KO94 Sellout race

Not really an upset when you look at the cold hard numbers of how many of each system were sold.

In my world Genesis was for Sportos.

Super Nintendo was for everybody else Motorheads, Stoners, Geeks, sluts, bloods, wastoids, dickheads, you name it...

But they all think Ferris is Righteous Dude..

And in the case of the 16-bit battle, the winner is indisputable: Super NES.

Nintendo moved 49.1 million Super NES consoles over the course of the generation and beyond, far surpassing the Genesis, which sold a still impressive 29 million units.

Those are worldwide numbers. Genesis was a big flop in Japan compared to SNES there. For a time in North America, Genesis actually had the larger market share. I read somewhere Genesis sales in NA were 19 million. SNES was about 23. I'll have to find the source later. It was much closer than you would think here.

Also, Genesis dominated in Europe against SNES.
