The Endurance League

Recommended Posts

This is the solid proposition of The Endurance League. The league is aimed to have 12-16 players and be the most ''sim'' in the realm of NHL94.The league is mostly aimed at ''A" level veterans but will consider other players as well, since there's no wait list, other league participation level is the 2nd criteria after skill.

League Features

  1. Each team plays other teams 2 times in conference (2 conferences) and 1 time out of conference for a total of 22 games (for 16 teams) or 3 times in conference and 1 out of conference for a total of 21 games (for 12 teams)
  2. Expansion draft players belong to those team only (Vanbiesbrouck, Kasatonov etc) NYR will be allowed to take a backup from any unused team
  3. Teams are awarded 2 points for a win, 0 for a loss and 1 point for a Tie.
  4. All possible tiebreakers are determine by a Bo1 or Round Robin.
  5. Stats recorded on NHL94online.com (need to talk to Chaos)
  6. 8 Teams make the playoffs, 4 per conference. If one conferences' 5th seed has a better record than the other's 4th seed they will play a B03 for the playoff spot.
  7. Lineups must be sent prior to season for in rom fix.
  8. Rosters are Classic Rom setting, no non original rom teams.

Game Features

  1. 8 Minute periods
  2. Penalties and Offsides ON
  3. Line Changes ON
  4. Increased Fatigue (Or else you can use 1 line for the whole period)
  5. Goalie stats increased by 1 for every relevant stat
  6. League is weight fixed
  7. Each team muse use his backup goalie for 25% of his games (so 6), starting goalies cannot play more than 5 games in a row, violation of this rule will result in a 2 point loss

Management Features

  1. Players are allowed to do 3 trades before the season begins and in between seasons
  2. Players will evolve rating wise based on '95, '96, 97' ratings and so forth.
  3. Teams will receive draft selections based on their rank for rookies based on their season/playoff finish.
  4. Picks are trade-able. You have 4 rounds worth of picks for a total of 64 collective selections (90 rookies on average)
  5. Undrafted players will be awarded first to teams who do not have a complete roster.

Expansion Teams (Tampa Bay, San Jose, Florida, Anaheim, Ottawa)

Players who elect to play these teams (if they will to do so) will receive the following privileges

  1. Guaranteed the first pick(s) in the draft of 93' (if multiple teams will be decided by coin toss)
  2. Allowed to pick one skater from any non participating team and any non roster player from participating teams (only once)
  3. Allowed to pick the backup goaltender from any other team (each team may protect 1 goalie, only once)

Team Selection

  1. Teams will be decided by list, ranking teams from 1 through 10
  2. Each player who has an uncontested N1 team will receive it
  3. If contested the pick will be decided by coin toss, or number roll (multiple conflicts)
  4. Repeat process for N2 choice until everybody has a team

That's basically the rough draft. Let me know if I've forgotten anything that should be in there.

The main point of this league is to provide a modern ''GM'' like experience and play (line changes) within the NHL94 workframe.
