clockwise
Seems like the worst kept secret that the official introduction will take place this June at the league’s annual awards gala. Bill Foley, the team owner's alma mater is West Point, US Military Academy, and it seems like he wants to use their colors and team name. Here are some concepts. The Russian Rocket
Think War horse is the best. The running knight is cool but it just screams ECHL.
clockwise
Wouldn't be surprised if the concepts are better than what the team picks.
smozoma
Think War horse is the best. The running knight is cool but it just screams ECHL. Yeah, cartoon characters are terrible logos. Top horse is not bad. Don't like the lower horse (cartoon eyes, teeth) I've always thought, if a 10 year old can't draw it, it's not a good logo. Love the ones like the flyers, canadiens, devils, blues, bruins... But I suppose there are only so many letters in the alphabet!
halifax
I like the colour scheme. NHL definitely needs more teams.
The Russian Rocket
I like the colour scheme. NHL definitely needs more teams. LOL talent already so scarce. Think expansion's awful when like 5 teams perpetually suck/bleed money
smozoma
The talent is higher than ever, with players from all over the world (well.. NA and EU)... it will always look like 4th lines are bums compared to the best players. But with so many teams, teams go on decade-long playoff droughts, and that is an absolute killer (unless you're the Leafs).
tru
the league should cap it at 32 teams, for sure. the next expansion could be done in a burst to 48, but only when a plan to make that work is set out to accomplish it in less than a decade's time. I'm with Smoz on talent levels, but, after 32, it'll be tough to make a logical number of expansion teams work out -- I think they'd have to do it four at a time from there. skip
most importantly: how will we make the 30-team ROM a 32-team ROM?
CoachMac
Only 6 matter. 21 was ok. Las Vegas is a joke. Fans will be like GENS B. Most of the League is like GENS B. Edited April 26, 2016 by CoachMac
SlapShotFiend
Poor Quebec, though. It's gonna be a while till they get some hockey love again.
