Let me know who I'm missing! Please use the format I used so it's easy/quick for me to add!

ARI has drafted 6 Sons of '94 (or nephews). Further, they've traded for 4 more. Now they've traded 3 away (including a 94-for-94 P.Samuelsson for Keegan Lowe trade). Very weird.

cause real hockey is a bullshit game that only rich kids can play

Yup and nepotism is insanely strong. As seen from these picks.

This goes through all levels of junior hockey.

Brandon Sutter, son of Brent, is a player for the Vancouver Canucks. He was drafted 11th overall, the highest of the second-generation Sutters, in the 2007 NHL Entry Draft by the Carolina Hurricanes. During the 2012 NHL Draft, he was traded to the Penguins, with Brian Dumoulin and the 8th overall pick, for Jordan Staal.[5]

Lukas Sutter, Rich's son, was born in St. Louis and currently plays for the Red Deer Rebels in the WHL. He was originally drafted by the Winnipeg Jets with the 39th overall pick in the 2012 NHL Entry Draft, but did not sign with the club.[7] He was later drafted again, this time by the New York Islanders, with the 200th overall pick in the 2014 NHL Entry Draft.

Jack Laftontaine, drafted 75th overall by Carolina, is the nephew of Brian Bradley.

Weird, Elite Prospects has them listed as "distant cousins" http://www.eliteprospects.com/player.php?player=234448

K, thanks!

Guys drafted outside the top 3 rounds, I put them in grey since A) very little chance they make it to the NHL and B ) I didn't even look outside the top 3 rounds when generating the lists.

I missed 2011 #31 David Musil. He also has a brother, 2015 #94 Adam Musil.

Sons of Frantisek Musil

Nephews of Bobby Holik

Additional Pittsburgh Penguin '94 family ties:

Luke Stevens (Son of Kevin)

Jack Ramsey (son of Mike)

A couple unrelated Samuelssons coming in 2018 draft

Not that they will ever play in the NHL, but the Senators AHL affiliate just signed the sons of NHL 94 greats Darrin Rumble and Mike Krushelnyski. I think with these signings, it has become obvious that some teams are just reaching to make any connections with this iconic game we all know and love (NHL 94!).

Mason Marchment is a good story

Left winger, went undrafted, never even scored a point-per-game in the OHL even in his age-20 year.

Signed to an ATO (amateur try out) by the Leafs, went to the ECHL and played for the Orlando Solar Bears. Worked hard with all the trainers available to him in the Leafs system. Finished the year strong with 5 points in 7 playoff games.

Made the Marlies (AHL) last year. 11-15-26 in 44GP, then 6-3-9 in 20GP in the playoffs, including 2 goals in game 7 of the AHL playoff finals (admittedly the 2nd goal was a total fluke in the last minute of a 6-1 game).

Earned himself a 2-year entry-level contract with the Leafs. Might see a game or two in the NHL next year.

I think you can bold a few more guys that have made the NHL:

Brendan Lemieux (played all season so far with Winnipeg)

Tage Thompson (played all season with Buffalo)

Christian Wolanin (played 10 games last season, and recently called up to Ottawa and stayed in the lineup despite return of Chabot and other D-men from injury).

Lias Andersson (played parts of this season and last with NYR)

Rasmus Andersson (played all season with Calgary)

If "made it to the NHL" means played 1 or more games, there are lots of others that should be bolded:

Logan Brown, Chris Bourque, Carter Ashton, Matt Hackett, Philip Samuelsson, Ryan Bourque, Jarred Tinordi, Christian Thomas, Alexander Nylander  etc.

Great, thanks

I'll generally only update it after the draft each year.

For "made it to the NHL" the intention is that they became (or are a sure thing to become) regulars. So a guy like  Kerby Rychel doesn't get bolded.

Batherson can be made bold. And I think his uncle Vial is actually on ANA, not OTT.

you can also add:

2020:

#5 OTT - Jake Sanderson (D) - Son of Geoff (HFD)

#28 OTT- Ridly Greig (C) - Son of Mark (HFD)

Other senators players with NHL dads that didn’t quite make the game include:

Patrick Brown and Doug Brown (played for NJD in 92/93)

Josh Norris and Dwayne Norris (played for QUE in 93/94)

I've often thought about doing a Steve Dangle trade history styled graphic, but instead it's an NHL 94 family tree...
