Match page update

I'm modifying and simplifying this post in the sense of how the user card page has been done.

Change the match page to a more similar style of user card page.

-Be able to add commentary on a specific match, how both players had experienced them.
-Be able to link an embed video link of the games to it. At least you could send a request for moderators for them to be make the insert with the provided link.
-Be able to upload the kaillera record files to be downloaded for those who want to view the game in their own gens.

Currently we have it in a bulky mode http://nhl94online.com/html/box_score.php?gameid=28141? with not much features.

All this is easily done if we can implement a login system for nhl94online.com.

There is some other talk / suggestions in this thread as well and that is ok.

Could it be possible to add an option to add comments on a specific game on game screen like http://nhl94online.com/html/box_score.php?gameid=28141?I know this would propably be have to be done under a logging system to avoid spam, or just add a captcha then?

I won't speak for Chaos (who does the nhl94online.com site) but will make a comment or two from my perspective. I know adding a Facebook comment widget would be very easy. Mind you, then your real identity would be used, or whatever your Facebook account name you use, but I would personally be fine with that...

But yeah, using your handle on the site itself would be ideal. Not sure how much work that would be. (I do PHP/MySQL too, and I would guess a couple hours for something quick and dirty. Especially if you just add comments and don't allow users to edit them after they are submitted, and rather than using a fancy text editor widget, instead use a simple textarea and parse carriage returns into <p> or <br> tags....)

The Number one most important "fix" for NHL94online.com is this:

1. Make the zip download package for GENs contain the new Kaillera that we use!

This quick fix carries a lot of bang for the buck, and would help new users big time.

That's a good one. Also include http://p2p.kaillera.ru/wip/okai_recorder.7zunzipped in the nhl94.com directory to allow recording with new kaillera. I'm not sure how many of the current players even have done this and have just folded recording option since leaving old kaillera.

A tool to add leagues and have a few admins to do this. I understand that the leagues are run on a database so it shouldn't be hard to integrate a web page that has a tool that would add a league to it.

This could be done easily with dropdowns for example.

-How many teams and which teams are in

-Assign which user controls which team

-Be able to use players database as a classic or update a sheet for trade leagues, or even have the option to do it manually from classic database that which players are in which teams. It is not a huge job as draft leagues currently can have 8 to 11 players in the teams.

-Able to set league / tournament type (divisions, number of games, schedule)

Or maybe Chaos has something like this already ? We had a similar one in nhlgamer.com where we played newer NHL games and some nhl94. You can see multiple authors have issued leagues to the site. It's a pity that at least that snapshot does not allow me to see the leagues. Also not all nhl94 leagues were there, many had their own dedicated sites.

Also as you can see, we used IRC as a chat for our leagues. It would still propably be easy for main guys to set up their clients and it allows really easy to use web chats integrated on the page even to allow random guys hop in easily to the channel. Propably the easiest chat to integrate to a site.

Actually found a snapshot from early 2005 that allows a couple leagues playoffs to be seen for the most curious ones.

Some of this already exists, you just can't see it ;).  I'm working on overhauling the code for the site, it is outdated.  Once I'm done, I will start adding new features.
