Additional Rules for the following seasons (HAS ZERO EFFECT ON THIS SEASON):

Each season, there will be a BRAND NEW draft class to draft from.  Any player(s) that were in the previous draft, UNLESS they were KEPT as part of a keeper pick, will NOT be in Season 2 & on. (more on this later)

The draft class will come from a group of players from all years before & after the 1994 ROM we have been using.  In order to KEEP the balance of the league and prevent teams from ending up too stacked (changes the way the game plays), only enough of the "greats" will be allowed into each Season's NEW pool.  There will have to be some above average guys from the 60's, 70's & modern players added into the draft pool to round it out.

For example, we are not going to allow every great goalie to ever play the game into next season's pool, as a) it would leave no good goalies for future seasons & b ) it would imbalance the league with everyone having a great goalie.  So, at most you might see is 3-5 goalies rated above 90 overall type thing if there were 20 teams.  Some draft pools, might end up with only 1 or 2.  There will be SOME randomness to it, and some "guided hand" into the player selection for each season's draft pool.  The "all-time greats" will also not be ALL 99 overalls, but more reflective to blend into something similar to player ratings from 1994 Rom.  Having everyone using maxed out players changes the game's style, feel and is not nearly as fun to play.  Given it is a weight based checking ROM, some of the older players and/or newer players might have to have their "actual real life weights' altered to blend into this ROM to fit with the theme.

Ok, so PRIOR to releasing the DRAFT POOL each season, Coach & I will first evaluate HOW many teams are coming back, and HOW many players are being kept.  THIS will help us in creating a draft pool that will keep the league fun and balanced at the same time.  You WILL KNOW your draft position PRIOR to deciding to keep a player, but will NOT know what the actual incoming draft pool will look like.

Additionally, you are not obligated to keep any players.  You can just draft a new team each season.

IN ORDER TO KEEP A PLAYER, you will have TO SURRENDER your draft pick for the corresponding round plus an additional late pick.  SO, if you draft Roy in Round 1 this year, and want to keep him next season, YOU WILL NOT HAVE A ROUND 1 pick in Season 2's draft, but will have Roy plus you will have to also forfeit an additional late pick.    IF somehow Roy slipped to you in Round 2 and you drafted him, he would cost a Round 2 draft pick to keep him, his corresponding draft slot plus an additional late pick.

NOW, IF YOU DON'T want to PAY the price to keep Roy, you are welcome to NOT, and just draft someone else from the NEW pool of players.  Quite often, the player will be AS GOOD, so the only advantage in KEEPING a player is because you WANT to.  It will not lead to a stronger team necessarily due to the additional penalties associated with keeping a player.

"Late pick"

High 1st round picks will cost more than late 1st rounds to keep.

High 2nd round picks will cost more than late 2nd round picks to keep.

After Round 2, keeping a player will not come at an additional cost.

********I will EDIT this more later.  Gotta get back to work*****
