I don't know the retro guys numbers

St. Louis Blues

LW Hawerchuck #10

C Neely #8

RW Boom Boom G

LD Murphy #28

RD Sweeney #32

G Blue #39

2nd line

LD Pronovost

RD Pronovost

Make the rest of my 2nd line so Geofrian comes in during a Hawerchuck penalty, and goes to C on a Neely penalty please.

I think Gusarov shares a number with one of my retro guys so make him #55 if he does.

Gusarov is 4th dman so make him #55 please the rest of my team is good on numbers thanks.

I posted a preseason rom on discord.

I will make that rom final Wednesday night and send it off to chaos unless I hear from you in this thread.

Happy to make changes to lines as long as I get it before Wednesday night.

No trades or Free Agency so, it should be quick.

I'll post Final rom tomorrow and season will begin, but you will just have to save states until chaos gets it loaded on site.

Regular Season Deadline is Wednesday November 15 to have all 20 games played.

Top 4 will make playoffs and play for the Stanley Bobble. (Again 1 v 3 and 2 v 4 in the semis)

Solid Pre-season action last night in the Retro League.
Here is the pre-season rom.

PRL2preseason1.bin

Brutus and Chicago proved that the retro Guys can hold their own in this league.
Jacques Plante may be human after all.  The problem is KingRaph is not.

I will leave the rest of today for guys to post any changes they would like to make to their lines and then get the Final Rom out tonight on the Forum and to @chaos so hopefully he get the league up on NHL94online.

Final Rom will be out and posted late tonight.

I'll be around to open the season if anyone wants to.

You play each team twice except for your rival who you will play 4 times.

This season Rivals are:

KingRaph vs Ice
Jer vs Tex
Aqua vs Coach
Brutus vs Lupz
Flat vs Chef

REGULAR SEASON BEGINS Tomorrow, Thursday October 26 (save states until @chaos gets us set up)

DEADLINE TO COMPLETE 20 Games is Wednesday November 15

Top 4 teams make the Playoffs (1 v 3 and 2 v 4) Bof7

Winners meet for the Stanley Bobble Bof7

LA Kings

LW - Mario
C - Lindros

LD - Duchesnse
RD - Featherstone

Xtra Attacker: Muller

Mario on the wing???

He's always the center, even without weight bug fix!

Lindros slow ass eating lightweights for snacks down in the corner too.

I'm sure you've tested what works for you but couldn't resist my comment.

Yes, I have done extensive testing.  Conclusion: Nothing works for me, and I almost came in last. :P (Last time around Mario had 2.0 PPG -- a record low, no doubt! Yes, he was on wing.)

I will play around a bit, and may change it up when I compete.  I do appreciate your remark. :)  My logic is, Mario has 6 stick handle and 6 passing, so would "drive the bus" so to speak handling the puck, and feeding Lindros (or Muller) at Center?

But the *main* reason I have 88 at C is because I love plopping him in the middle defensively.  He is a checking behemoth that clogs my zone up, when I can get him back there...

Edit: PS: I welcome all comments from anyone regarding my lineup. I am a thick skinned lizard.

I agree with changing it up. Have a preferred lineup, but also be ready to change it if needed. I used all my forwards at multiple positions.

Another thing, I personally never liked the idea of "feeding" someone at center. Don't go into the offensive zone with the plan of "looking" for someone. Let the players look for you. So many people mess up their offense by trying to force too many one timers.

This is by far one of the truest statements made by the kid.

When he broke into the zone, you never knew which direction the puck was going, normally patiently though.  He'd spread the scoring around for sure!  As many one timers on a back pass to his forwards as dekes across the zone to the point you didn't know what to defend.

It does help to be a strong break away scorer.  Less pressure on getting one in every time you enter the zone 5 on 5.

ive noticed that guys who struggle on break away (especially me on the past!!), tend to try to jam/force too much & get easily thwarted.

s-l225.jpgIntroducing the Bailey Bobble!

The NHL awards its Champion the Stanley Cup.

Now the Premium Retro League is proud to announce the Bailey Bobble will be now be presented to each seasons Champion.

I was able to get 10 of these brand new for $2 at a garage sale today.
My wife was like "What are you going to do with 10 of those?"
I say "I am going to send them to the Champion of my Hockey League."
She replies "You mean those guys you don't even know?"

So KingRaph already got a Recchi Bobblehead sent to him for winning season 1, but from here on out the Champion will receive the Bailey Bobble.

These would have been sweet for the King of 94 Tourney with the alternate Kings logo etc...just wish he had #94 instead of #72, but I guess that works for Retro!

Season is 66% complete and it does not officially start until November 1.
You can find results and standings below.

http://www.nhl94online.com/html/standings.php?lg=48&sublg=GENS

There are only 34 games left to be played.

I would like to see the Regular Season completed this weekend or early next week.
Lets not lose the momentum, we have going.

The Playoff Race is going to be very tight and interesting.

Can the Rangers (KingRaph) go undefeated again?
What about a perfect season?

Ice, Lupz, Tex, Jer,  Brutus and Aqua all in a dogfight for the last 3 playoff spots.

Can Flat or Chef catch CoachMac for the 8 spot.

Lots of huge Rivalries still to be played.  King vs Ice in a 4 game set that is a rematch of the Season 1 Finals.
Ice may be playing for a Playoff Spot.

Chef vs Flat in a huge Expansion team 4 game set.

Top 4 will play for the Bailey Bobble.

1 v 3 and 2 v 4 in the semis.

Next 4 will play for the "B" Bobble.

5 v 7 and 6 v 8 in the semis.

Last 2 will play for "C" Bobble.

9 v 10

Season is going great, Coach!

So is the situation for next season:

  1. Final 2 get no keeper
  2. Other 2 in playoffs keep 1 player
  3. Remaining 6 keep  2 players

Or is this still yet to be determined?

Yet to be determined, but that is probably pretty close.
That would be 14 keepers and I was thinking more like 10.
So,

1-2 get zero
3-8 get 1
9-10 get 2

but still wait and see,

Does everyone come back?
Do we expand to 12 teams?
Do we contract?
Lots to be determined, but most importantly finish this season and have an awesome playoffs>
I am really looking forward to a great playoff and awarding the Bailey Bobble to someone.

Congratulations to the Oakland Seals and Coach Flatcrusher on huge upset on the New York Rangers and KingRaph.

King had a 33 game unbeaten streak in the Regular Season of PRL until Flatcrusher knocked him off.

It looks like Aqua (27 points), King (26 points), and Tex (25 points) have wrapped up playoff spots.
Ice has the inside lane to the 4th spot but has 4 games against KingRaph still on his schedule.
Jer33 and Brutus are also still in the mix for that 4th spot.

Just 12 games left to finish our second season with 100% of the games played.

Ice vs King x 4
Ice vs Chef x 2
Ice vs Brutus x 2
Brutus vs King x 2
Brutus vs Chef x 2
