Highest Crowd Decibel Level (in league play)

Recommended Posts

Hey buds, I was having a look at some old boxscores and noticed that me and Lupz playoff game from last night in VHL5 had a pretty high peak crowd decibel level of 124dB. If anyone records a higher dB, you should add the boxscore here and we'll see how high we can push the volume! Maybe even to 11!

Image result for this one goes to 11

I just looked at the database. The highest ever was 135dB hit twice, one 134dB game, one 129dB game. There are a ton of 128dB games (like over 100, most of them seem to be SNES, which I'm guessing is the max).

135dB - http://nhl94online.com/html/box_score.php?gameid=15393  - 22-0 NSH vs. CHI in GDL XI (Plabax vs. dcicon), prob dcicon dropped, I think I remember that happen.

135dB - http://nhl94online.com/html/box_score.php?gameid=24688 - 18-2 ARI vs. PIT in GDL XIV (Plabax vs. Labs66)

134dB - http://nhl94online.com/html/box_score.php?gameid=26498 - 12-6 CGY vs. DET in Classic Spring 2016 (Plabax vs. Uncle Seth)

129dB - http://nhl94online.com/html/box_score.php?gameid=28396 - 10-3 BOS vs. CGY in Classic Fall 2016 (Plabax vs. Uncle Seth)

So, moral of the story is play Plabax, get killed, make history.

This is obviously something that the game gets wrong, making blow outs high decibel.  The real high decibels would come if a game was tight, and finally a home team scored a hard fought goal.  Especially if they had taken a lot of PIMs, and had a lot of shots against, with a goalie standing on his head to keep the home team in the game.

Also, if a home team was behind by a few goals, and suddenly tied it up, and then went ahead!, in the 3rd.  Big time high decibels.

Obviously, this would take a little more programming to take into account context.  But hey, this game got so much right, I would not be surprised if it did a better job here than it did.
