Bleed Green
Right...you can get the rosters from the 1990-91 season on hockeydb.com or hockey-reference.com, but not every player who played that season was actually included in the game. I used to have an Excel spreadsheet which I used to keep track of which players were actually in the game. It was near complete, but undoubtedly had some holes as certain players are on the bench and only see ice time in the event of a replacement (due to penalties and such). It's tough to put together a comprehensive roster because there are definitely more players in the game than just the ones on the default lines (and of course, you can't edit your lines). Has anyone ever dug into this game's ROM with a hex editor and put together a complete list of team rosters? I wouldn't think it'd be that difficult. kingraph
NHL'92 didn't have the player names, just the numbers. You can open the ROM in NOSE to see the player numbers, lines and attributes by team....extracting it to a spreadsheet would take a little more time. Unfortunately I don't think you can copy/paste into a spreadsheet directly from NOSE. Maybe some sort of OCR program? Or good 'ol fashioned data entry, lol. But anyway, after that, you'd just lookup the name from the 1990-91 season and add it to the spreadsheet.
CoachMac
Here is what I think the OP is looking for. This is a cool rom that I made for the guys who I played in a 92 league with Deadmeow. http://forum.nhl94.com/index.php?/topic/15411-92-in-93/

Bleed Green
I already have most of the info entered into a spreadsheet. I just wanted to check the ROM to verify everything and see if I was missing any players. I first created my own rosters for this game many years ago by writing down lists of player numbers on notebook paper. I then used various references (pre-internet) to figure out who was who. I just downloaded NOSE and took a peek at the ROM. What an amazing program! If only I had this years ago, it would've saved me hours of work. Oh well. At least after 20 years, I finally have complete roster sheets for NHL Hockey. haha Edited March 22, 2014 by Bleed Green
CoachMac
Glad you like it. NOSE is amazing. We had a 92 league last summer. I will contact you if we do it again.
CoachMac
Done. http://www.nhl92.com/walesconferencerosters.htm http://www.nhl92.com/campbellconferencerosters.htm The All-Star teams are not exactly accurate and some players have different ratings on the All-Star team than they do on their regular teams. Mario Lemieux did not play in the game, but he bumped Joe Sakic from his starting spot in this pixelated version. Bill Ranford, Steve Yzerman, and Mike Vernon all have better ratings on the All-Star team. Andy Moog is rated lower on the All-Star team. Denis Savard, Dave Christian, and Guy Lafluer are missing from the Wales team. Bobby Smith is missing from the Campbell team. Mark Recchi wore #12 not #10. Regular team Ommissions. Some notable players who did not make the game. Many were good fighters. Mike Hartman Buffalo Tim Hunter Calgary Jim McKenzie Hartford Brent Gilchrist, Ryan Walter, and Sylvain Turgeon Montreal Tie Domi NY Rangers Mark Howe Philly Jay Caufield and Jiri Hrdini Pittsburgh Rick Meagher St. Louis Other mistakes; Tony Twist is a defensemen. He should be a forward. Petr Klima is listed as a lefty and he shoots right. I am convinced the Sharks are purely fictional. Based on the date at the top of Hex editor (May 1991) The dates of the dispersal and expansion drafts. (May 30, 1991) and trying to match any of the numbers, weights, or skills to guys who played with or were property of the Sharks in 1991.
