				version 1.10b
New in this version is some small bug fixes, and the incorporation of the new NBA Live customized version of FSHTOOL. the latest EAZIP version, used in conjunction with the customized NFSHTOOL program, can now successfully recursively extract BIG VIV and FSH files using the new formats for multi-scale, transparent, alpha blend, and sub-compressed gfx formats.

EAZIP is freeware and can be freely distributed as long as ALL accompanying documentation and files are included. Painstaking efforts and time was commited to the evolution of this technolgy, so please respect the author's works and do not modify, alter, or omit the distribution & documentation materials as this is the requirement for its free use.

                                 Overview
                                 --------
EAzip is utility that allows you manipulate the contents of VIV (and future
FSH) files for use in Electronic Arts sporting games, in particular NBA Live
200x series NBA!

EAzip allows the creation and maintance of viv files similar to unix gtar
and zip utilities. it allows the creation of viv files, and fsh, and other
EA file types to be inserted, extracted, listed, compressed, or
uncompressed. unlike the other great utilities available for EA file type
manipulations, EAzip allows the use of wildcards for mutiple file maintanence
operations, and it safely supports the new EA 2003 BIGVIV file format!

This program is Freeware, and can be freely distributed provided the
accompanying documentation and files are included. You can always find the
latest version at the following URL:

       http://go.to/nba2kstuff

Be very careful as this is currently alpha software. Make sure you backup
each VIV file you modify, or else you may have to copy them from teh
original CD again!

The first time you modify a viv file, it creats a file.viv.bakfile
unmodified. you can restore this bak to the original if the file has been
errored in some way.

 -u[ncompress] [file*.fsh|@files.lst]
               = uncompress fsh
* -------------------------------------------------------------------------*

   This command can compress/uncompress files using the 10fb LZSS
   compression technique used in EA viv files. you can specifiy a wildcard
   to do a bulk compress or uncompress of many files in your current folder.

example #1)
E:\games\nba2003\renfe\xportbck>eazip -c xx.fsh
Compressing 'xx.fsh' ..

E:\games\nba2003\renfe\xportbck>dir xx.fsh

               = create a new blank legacy vivfile
* -------------------------------------------------------------------------*

example)
eazip -n chbarkl.viv
- This command creates a new blank viv file to have files inserted into them
laret. this creates a legacy style VIV file, that can be converted to the
new BIGVIV file format at a lter time.

* -------------------------------------------------------------------------*
 -V[convert]   file.viv                          = convert

                         convert format to old viv format + padd
* -------------------------------------------------------------------------*

example #1)
eazip -V chbarkl.viv
- This command converts a legacy VIV file to the new BIGVIV file format

example #2)
eazip -v juervin.viv
- This command converts the new BIGVIV file format to the legacy VIV format.
use +v for convertion to 2003 quad word alignment.

* -------------------------------------------------------------------------*
 -d[elete]     file.viv [file*.fsh*|@files.list]
               = remove files
* -------------------------------------------------------------------------*

  Use this command to remove files contained in a BIGVIV or legacy VIV
  file. eazip maintains the file integrity of the new and existing NBA VIV
  file formats for 2003 updates!

example #1)
eazip -d xplayers.viv chbarkl.viv kajabba.viv ko*.*
- This command deletes the chbarkl.viv, kajabba.viv and all ko*.* files from the
xplayers.viv file

* -------------------------------------------------------------------------*
<-+>a[add]     file.viv [file*.fsh*|@files.list]
               = always compressed creat if not exist
* -------------------------------------------------------------------------*

example #1)
eazip -a xplayers.viv chbarkl.viv kajabba.viv ko*.*
- This command adds the chbarkl.viv, kajabba.viv and all ko*.* files from the
xplayers.viv file, as is raw.
- the +a options varaint does 10fb LZSS compression as it inserts.

                  POWERFUL commands
                  ----------------

example)
for %x in (*.viv) do eazip +r -e %x ph*

this command extracts ALL the PH graphics from ALL the VIV files in the
corresponding directory. it unpacks each one into its corresponding foldername,
and the uses rfshtool to extract the actual BMP graphics into the proper
sub folder.

the result appears as follows:

example)
eazip -r -e xplayers.viv *

this command extracts all the contents of the XPLAYERS.VIV file into to
folder XPLAYERS.

example)
eazip +r -e xplayers.viv *

this command does the same as above, but it also unpacks each contained
VIV files into the corresponding VIV fle name. if there is an FSH file
there, it unpacks it using the modified RFSHTOOL program.

this commands unpacks all graphics that comes with the game into its
constituent parts.

                  Using a List File
                  -----------------
You can make working with multiple files even easier by using a List File.
This must be a standard ASCII Text file and you can name it whatever you
want to. You can create such a file with Notepad. Here's an example of
how it can look like:

Content of file NEWFILES.TXT:

SCPIPPE.*
JUERVIN.*

Each file you want to add must be on a separate line.
If you have created the file, you can use it with EAzip by
simply typing

  EAzip -a xplayer.viv @newfiles.txt

and the graphic files that are listed in NEWFILES.TXT will be added.

                  Important Notes:
                  ----------------
NOTE #1: When you update an EA Tar Archive and the file you add does
         already exist, it will be replaced. If it does not already
         exist, if will be added instead.

NOTE #2: If you specify the complete path to the Target and/or new
         files, the files do NOT need to be in the same directory.
         If you do NOT specify it however, ALL files must be in the same
         directory.
