Hi guys. Don't know if any of you remember my original posts about a sim league I was starting up last April. Well, it's taken a while, but we are now approaching the end of our 60 - game schedule, and I had some questions about playoff structure in NHL 94. I've read the related playoff threads around here, and I was just looking for a bit of clarity before I start messing about with things in NOSE. (Just in case, this is not just for me and my own amusement - our league has really taken off, and I'm trying to make the playoffs as legitimate as I can: VIHL LEAGUE HOME) Anyways, my questions: 1. We have a 5 team league this season, and 4 teams make the playoffs. Is…

Is there a way to copy data (strips, rosters, team names) from, say, NHL '94 to your NHL '97 ROM? Thanks!

wboy I need some help finishing off a strip hack for NHL 93. I have pretty much finished everthing spritewise except for the face-off window. http://forum.nhl94.com/index.php?showtopic=11129 So basically I need help editing the face-off window to match the sprites. I believe it is still compressed in your 30 team rom (as managed to change most of the colours in the rom apart from the two players in the window) but was wondering if it’s possible to uncompress (like the banners). Any help/advice would be much appreciated.

The two side programs needed to run NOSE: - Visual Basic 6.0 Service Pack 5 Run-time Redistribution Pack - Windows Common Controls ActiveX Control Are these potentially harmful to a computer? Will they give adware or spyware or anything like that? Will they change Windows settings? Or are they completely harmless? Thanks!

I bought a MacBook two months ago. Works great, I should say, but right now there is no way to edit GENS Roms outside of straight hex-editing. And I'm not particularly well-versed in hex (though I have read the tutorials so I have some basic idea). It will take a lot of work, I am aware of this, but me and any other Mac NHL94 players that may be lurking about could really appreciate having a compatible version of NOSE.

Hi all, just fiddling around with the NOSE recolouring to make the day-glo blue ice, into a nice natural white. Only problem is, the skate-level numbers for the players have now become a hell of a lot harder to read. I want to change them to a darker gray, enough to be able to see, but not to clash with the puck...problem is, I don't know where the option for number colour appears, under the rink tab? under the uniform tab? et etc. Thanks in advance guys.

Post features you'd like to see in the next version of NOSE here (which would be v1.3). No pressure wboy!

First, I'd just like to say thanks to WBoy for creating such a user friendly hacking program. I love it! Well, I'm currently delving into making my own game and I have a couple questions: - Is there a way to just completely eliminate a team? The ROM that I'm making, I felt that the All-Star teams were unnecessary. Being the n00b that I am to this, I just deleted a bunch of the players to free up some BYTE space. As a result, if you leave the all star teams on the team-selection screen and allow them to cycle through their players after the 1st player, the game will glitch up. To counter this I just put a warning (DONT USE TEAM, LEAVE NOW... kinda thing) instead of the t…

I tried to do jersey colours but my green, shows up as white in the actual game on the top oval part of the jersey. Also, the Ice logo wont show up as Green(as it does in Tile Molester), which shows up as Red instead.

hey wboy, I am extremly impressed with your NOSE editor. I was wondering when, or if the editor will be ready for SEGA CD. There is a huge following on this forum that edits, burns and plays sega cd games. If there is a way to make NOSE iso compatable, that would be hugely appreciated. Thanks Soccer1

I've been trying to use a small mod to eliminate one team's players (set their starting line to the same guy then get a stoppage of play) to practice moves but GENS has crappy control, especially with my controller - angles are near impossible. So would NOSE for SNES be possible or do I have to remove the other team the hard way? I wish this game had practice mode..

I have been working on a 98 and I noticed a problem with the rom when playing a game. What's happening is, the player numbers are correct in NOSE but change when the game is played. I don't have duplicate numbers on the team or any other glaring reason why this is happening. I have attached a screen shot of the players in NOSE and the team roster screen while playing the rom. Anyone with suggestions or possible reasons for this problem would immediately become my new best friend. Thanks

Hi there guys, It is probably pretty obvious but if you hold down shift + select all the players on one rom and press CTRL +C and then open up another intance of NOSE and the rom you want to paste to and select the same ammout of players you can paste data across using CTRL + V. I just thought I would add this as someone on my AIM asked me about this. Any comments or critisism are welcome!

Hey I'm not that new to this site but I am new in editing the game. In fact, I have never edited the game before but I really wanna give it a shot. I'm trying to edit the original NHL 94 ROM and add my own custom audio. I'm looking to add the current goal horns and take away the default goal horn but I have no clue how to edit anything in the game. I have already downloaded NHL Old Skool Editor and extracted it but now I have no clue what to do Like I said before, I am very new to this so any help would be greatly appreciated. Please help me in this forum or on AIM. AIM: maddmac94

I'd love it if nose had the ability to be used in the Open With dialog. I.e., I want to be able to right-click a file in XP, go to "open with", add NOSE, and have it actually open the ROM on loading. I'm not sure how to do that in VB, though.. You need to grab the parameter list the application is loaded with (like the argv[] array in C++).

help! I'm having problems saving the goalie crease hack, I went into ring clicked the "top right hack by SWOS" and hit apply, and I tried it with the sample box checked and also tried it un-checked, Still nothing... I updated the rosters and changed the color of some jerseys and ice, it saved, but I don't know what I did wrong.

Do you know how to make the game run faster with hex editor? I'm looking to increase the speed slightly, to mabye 70 frames instead of 60. Any help appreciated.
