It my not make the final cut of the film, but at least it mite get into the Special Features on the Bluray/DVD.

So what would you like to know?

Cheers,

Mikey

PS; The questions you guys had for Jim Simmons was a huge help to me

Indeed, Mikey. I have received this report from the future...

US president Donald Trump holds an impromptu summit with all word leaders with the help of holographic Abe Lincoln to determine how to contain Pixelated Heroes pandemonium from causing worldwide hysteria and stampedes. People around the world eagerly wait for the clock to strike 12:00 AM to get their copies of Pixelated Heroes.

Everyone at the summit surely feels the tremendous gravity of the situation, and is moved to tears.
Suddenly, Kim Jong-un appears on the main-monitor, crying and apologizing profusely for then pain and suffering he has caused. He states that only now, after the release of Pixelated Heroes, has he seen the folly of his ways and the suffering of his people.

The room erupts with applause and cheers, and every world leader unanimously agrees that this day be made officially as, 'worldwide NHL'94-Pixelated-Heroes Day'. It's a new festive holiday where everyone is encouraged to play NHL'94 as a sign of world peace and solidarity.

The new rules of the holiday are written on a scroll with an ink quill and signed by every world leader. It's put over a candle to give it those burn marks that make it look like an older document than it actually is. Then, it's rolled up and shot through a pneumatic tube, where it is sent directly to replace the constitution at the Smithsonian in Washington D.C.

Meanwhile, broadcasts are interrupted all over the globe, informing all citizens to go home and be with their families to enjoy the new holiday: NHL'94-Pixelated-Heroes Day.

Gabe Newell announces Half-Life 3, and in the same breath states that Gordon Freeman will be replaced by Mikey McBryan.

Reviews are pouring in as 10's all across the board, it's hailed as a master stroke of pure genius by all media; small and large. Local news to national 24-hour networks are wall-to-wall Pixelated Heroes coverage around the clock. Bill O'reilly renames the 'O'reilly Factor' to the 'McBryan Factor' for NHL'94-Pixelated-Heroes Day.

Haters and NHL'95 fans have taken to self-flagellation with controller cables. The Pope offers the papacy to Mikey at the Vatican, but he graciously declines as he addresses the throngs of people who wait for his words.

He states, only, "Thank you for making Pixelated Heroes possible. Thank you all." The crowds watching from around the world in stadiums and pubs, in public squares and homes are raucous and jubilant.

Mikey hops into his red, F355 Ferrari, but it has no wheels at all. Somehow finding the time while developing Pixelated Heroes, Mikey has created the worlds first, fully modified hover-Ferrari. He winks, puts on his sunglasses, and turns the stereo to the opening theme of NHL'94. Then he turns the key and the car gradually takes flight and soars into the sky.

Subsequently, Elon Musk purchases the hover-Ferrari technology from Mikey for his Tesla factories. Mikey uses this massive windfall to purchase EA, using an unlimited budget for an NHL'94 remake.

	Hey Players!

Its been a while but I finally have some news about Pixelated Heroes release. A few weeks ago I was approached by a start-up streaming service (in Silicon Valley) about doing an online Aviation News show (much like Philip DeFranco on Youtube). As we were in talks I mentioned Pixelated Heroes and I sent them the screener we have seen in Vegas and they loved it. My original goal was to get PH on a major streaming service and to be honest I have been so busy at work that it fell by the wayside. I burnt myself out getting the film ready for Vegas and needed a break, that's why I have been away from the community. But know I'm reset and ready to start a new game lol.

The new company submitted me their offer to stream Pixelated Heroes yesterday, It is not a lot of money and by no means covers the production cost. But what they are offering that no one else would do, is to take my 4 Terabytes of extra footage and make it into enough small videos to make years worth of content to stream regularly. I believe this is the best for everyone, as a lot of you spent your time helping me out and I would hate for the footage to be lost on a hard drive on my shelf (there is a lot of cool stuff and stories). Including full interviews with the producers and programmers.

So basically, they will stream the finished full-length Pixelated Heroes on their new site. Then produce smaller videos from my footage and release them on a regular basis. All of this will be on a custom page so its all in one area. And who knows maybe we will do a sequel!

I will for sure let you guys know more about the company and our plan once the deal is signed. But for now, keep your sticks on the ice.

	Cheers,

	Hey Guys,

Fall Out Games in Arizona has posted a picture online of their new HDMI consoles.

This could be a Game Changer. For future tourneys if these turn out to work and are cheap. As we all know collecting and storing CRT’s is a big issue and most new esports spaces are all HD.

I’m getting a Gens shipped up to me ASAP for testing. I’m pretty excited.

Fall Out Games has been helping me out with the Doc from the very beginning.

Their manager Scott D. Has been a huge help in making the doc and providing me with games and consoles for the King of 94 Tournaments. Kof94 1 would have not happened with out Scott’s last minute help getting me all the original hardware (7 gens and 7 snes) Air freighted from AZ to Toronto just in time for game day. They have made affordable NES and SNES consoles in the past but not in HD. I begged them to make an HD Gens last time i was in Phoenix, have my prayers been answered?????

What’s your guys thoughts on going HD?

EDIT: I JUST GOT WORD THAT THE GENS WILL RETAIL FOR $30!!!!

	Hey Guys,

Well, the film is coming along very good. We are a little bit under budget and a little bit ahead of schedule. The editor and I have spent the last week turning the rough cut into our first Fine cut. That means the film is in a state now where there is nothing really missing and it's in the order we think is the most logical/entertaining.

We have some cool animations and "cutaways" that were made by local artists up here and really gives the story a lot of humor.

We have 8-bit animation, 3d style diorama sets, and some classic cartoon animation. Also, we have 4 versions of the Sega theme made to put throughout the film (think of the sad version of "America, f**k Ya" in Team America.

My question is a need some footage ripped from NHL 2003. It's some specific shots and I'm wondering if anyone here has the tech to do it. Send me an email mikeymcbryan@gmail.com if someone can help out. I need only a few seconds of it.

Anyhow, I hope everone is enjoying summer and the playoffs. I'll update more as the film progresses.

	Cheers,

My biggest hobby for the last while has been NHL 94. But, I also play NL Texas Holdem. I want to go to Vegas and play in the NHL 94 tourney, and then hit the poker tables! I have only played live in a couple Niagara Falls casinos before, and have never even been to Vegas.

I play online poker in spurts, on Pokerstars. I may go 2 months without playing, then play 5 nights in a row. I am nothing special, and tend to lose, but I enjoy playing.

Are there other poker players, or gamblers of any sort, that are going?

	Hey Guys,

I'm back in the editing suite this month. (had to take Jan/Feb off due to the editors schedule).

I'm Just throwing this out there.

I have a list of NHL '94 and NHLPA '93 gameplay shots I need for the film. Mostly 5 to 10 seconds of specific in-game events. For an example "Gretzky's head bleeding" and "Glass Breaking" kind of shots. I was hoping someone on the Fourm here could help out. The footage can be dumped with the use of an emulator and in as high resolution as possible. I can provide a shot list and the timeline I will need them by is about 4 weeks.

As payment, I can offer you something very very special a signed copy of NHL '94 by Mark Lesser also IMDB Credit and your name in the movies credits.

If anyone can help with this just let me know in the thread or email me at mikeymcbryan@gmail.com

	Cheers,

Hey Guys,

Almost wrapped the 3rd week of editing. We have two bonus days (Mon/Tues).

The editor and I have spent most of our time cutting smaller scenes together. Now with only a few small scenes left to go, we have started piecing the movie together. This is what is called the "rough cut" and is a very big step!

The flow of the movie so far is a lot more fast paced as I first thought. This is good news because some stuff that is scheduled to possibly be cut may not have to be. There is a few cool twists and turns in how things worked out, which adds some cool story elements. You will defiantly have to watch the movie at least twice to catch all the hidden messages.

The one praise I say over and over is "if I have never heard of a Sega Genesis (or Hockey), would this make sense to me".

For example, "One Timers" means nothing to someone who has never watched hockey. So the phrase "I love one timers" sounds like a dude that likes having one night stands lol. So I have to make sure I show a one timer or group that slang into context or I risk constantly explaining things to the audience and waste screen time.

Anyways that's my week 3 ramble. Thanks for listening

Today I'm writing what is called a paper edit for the film. a Paper edit is basically a handwritten outline for the film that the editor uses to guide himself. It is useful so he/she can work alone and not have someone breathing down their neck.

My question is...

How interested would you guys be in knowing more about the link between Madden Football and the origin of the NHL series from a designer standpoint.

The reason I'm asking this is that 80% of the history of what became NHL '94 is directly linked to Madden.

*Also flash forward to today's events, I got an invite to visit the Madden head quarters in Florida (I will be down there for other work in February). It would be perfect opportunity to give that story a little depth and interview the main guy today for Madden who is a HUGE NHL '94 fan.

I'll most likely delete this post after a few days so let me know.

While the editor and I just finished our 2nd week of editing. We focused on going through the footage and picking out all the good sound bites and starting to rough cut the major scenes together. I would say we have finished about 80% of the "usable" footage. I'll be working by myself these next two weeks to got through the 10 plus hours of tournament footage, 4.5 hour Mark Lesser interview and 3.5 hour Michael Brook interview. I have the editor and suite booked for a week in December. We are on track to have a rough cut of the movie early in the new year and a fine cut sometime in March . Armed with a fine cut, I can open more doors by being able to show distributors and not just tell them about the idea.

One thing that I have learned in the 2nd week of editing is just how similar the core group of fans are.

Everyone has almost the very same story;

Some examples I have came across (I'm not saying that everyone applies but I bet one does)

1-"I can't remember if I got it for my birthday or Christmas"

2-"Me and my Brother/cousin/friend played it for hours"

3-"The new NHL games just don't do it for me"

4-"One day I googled "NHL '94" and found this site"

5-"Most of my friends and family today don't really understand why I like NHL '94"

Anyhow let me know it the comments underneath how many of these apply to you? '

I'm for sure 5/5

Hey Guys,

I just wanted to give you guys a quick update. The postproduction team and I have finished the 1st week of editing (next editing week starts tomorrow).

We focused this first week on cutting and piecing the segments with the NHL players. It's a lot funnier than I expected!

We also started cutting the interviews with a couple of the programmers. It's going to be tougher than I thought to keep what they are saying interesting but we are working on ideas to keep the story following and also dropping in easter eggs for the hardcore fans. That being said I will have full uncut interviews with the designers in the DVD/Itunes Extras so you guys can hear what they have to say. I don't want that stuff to go to waste. (I probably have 5 hours of NHL '94 designer interviews and I'm going to use about 5-10 mins lol).

By the end of next week, I hope to start going through the interviews I have filmed with some of you guys! I have been breezing through them over the weekend and they look great.

Cheers,

Mikey

Hey Guys,

Only a couple days left before I head into the editing suite. I wanted to share the few main social media platforms I'm using to help keep people in the loop. Check them out and follow along if you haven't yet!

http://www.instagram.com/pixelatedheroes

http://twitter.com/pixelatedheroes

I have been pretty low key on the promotion side for the last year. I didn't want to let to much stuff out and lose any chance at media momentum when the time is right. It today's world news only lasts minutes. But I have been toying with the idea of keeping a production vlog on youtube to keep people up to date (spoiler free of course).

Anyway if there is any sweet memes or pictures you have that I can share on these sites please share below. I'll need all the promo help I Can get!!!

Cheers,

Hey guys,

I have came up with a plan to get the international NHL '94 players into the movie. I'm hoping to get as many Skype interviews as I can with players outside of Canada and the USA. I'll will record them and use them in the film in a montage/infographic scene to show the game getting played around the world. So my question... How many people can I get? Finland? Sweden? Germany? Italy? Mexico? I will need the forums help to get the world out!

If you fit this discerption or have stories of playing NHL '94 outside of Can/US. Please email me at mikeymcbryan@gmail.com

It will be epic to have you in the movie!
