now it must end... when you give up 2 goals in the first 2mins I don't think your allowed to quit the game and expect to restart fresh.. BUT OF COURSE if it is CARSE [snoboarder] you automatically expect to be given a fresh slate. one word for this guy- WOW This series has to be over, I cannot deal with somebody quitting anytime they give up goals. ITS LIKE PLAYING WITH A CHILD. This game did NOT disconnect, Carse just plain quit after the 2nd goal was given up and he was again being badly outplayed. This league doesnt need losers like Carse in it. This is the first person I've met to try so extensively to cheat his way to second chances. PATHETIC. I want this g…

After the many heated regular season battles with some great returnees, and a few new coaches - the real battle began back in November. The match-ups were determined and '94 Classic play-off hockey was back. EPISODE 1: The Semis Chicago (coached by redbonzai), with the league's best regular season record, took top seed and matched up against the 8th seeded Leafs (coached by etownbio). A 4 game sweep was posted, with Toronto keeping the score close only in game 3. Buffalo (coached by jer_33) matched up against Philadelphia (coached by Culls17) in the 2/7 seed match-up. The Flyers were no match for Mogilny and company, as Buffalo finished the series in 4 games, including…

I was browsing stats and noticed that saibacuochi, who plays with St. Louis on gens, has had a rough start to his nhl94.com career. I don't know him nor have I ever talked to him but saibacuochi finally posted his first career league win. A 2-1 win over Vancouver. That brings his career record to 1-50-1. This isn't sarcasm, I am honestly congratulating him. Way to go, bud!

Great series Freydey and congrats on making it to the finals in probably the most competitive year ever--I am sure we will meet again. This was a hard fought championship that I will cherish…perhaps this marks the start of a new rivalry. Some interesting geographical notes about major championships for this year…2012 may be the first time 3 different countries have owned one of the 3 major titles all in the same …

I made the write-up a spoiler so if you wanted to watch the series unfold, you can watch the game videos posted below. I wish the videos didn't show a snapshot of the game as a thumbnail though... DON'T READ IF YOU DON'T WANT TO KNOW THE RESULTS YET! The Toronto Maples Leafs (smozoma) win the Fall'11 GENS B Stanley Cup in 6 games over the Tampa Bay Lightning (kingraph)! In a close series where two games were decided by two goals or less and the other 4 by one goal, Doug Gilmour and company managed to do enough to come out on top! Game 1: 11 seconds into game 1, TB's Mikael Andersson sloppily tapped in a goal past Potvin, to give TB the early lead. A great star…

Buffalo advances to the third round of the Gens A Classic playoffs after an incredible 7 game series triumph over Quebec. Buffalo entered game one with their lineup from game seven of the first round intact, making no changes to their original '94 first line of Bodger-Svoboda-Hawerchuk-Lafontaine-Mogilny. This wouldn't last long, as two early Doug Bodger penalties led to the deployment of series one goat Grant Ledyard. Joe Sakic opened the scoring at 3:01, but Alex Mogilny soon answered with two goals 8 and 33 seconds later. Quebec's underrated defense then swung the momentum back in their team's favor as Gusarov and Duchesne both scored, followed by 2 more from Sakic. …

Game 1 TOR 2 @ DET 1 OT Game 2 TOR 3 @ DET 2 OT Game 3 DET 4 @ TOR 5 Game 4 DET 5 @ TOR 7 Smozoma and his Leafs took the #2 seed Detroit down in 4 games, despite losing two out of three to the Wings in regular season. Games 1 and 2 were extremely close defensive battles, but Gilmour carried the torch for the Leafs scoring all goals on the road sealing both games in overtime. Game 3 Detroit fell behind quick 2-0, luckily Matt Foley was in the Toronto crowd and was able to make it to ice level for another motivational speech, the wings battled back but fell short by one goal for the third game in a row. Game 4 Toronto would gain a 6-2 and 7-3 lead in the third perio…

After 5 years of devastating playoff losses to teams coached by angryjay, Vocally Caged's Sabres finally broke through to the second round of the Gens A playoffs with a heart-palpitating 7 game victory. Game 1 was a close battle as Pat Lafontaine barely outdueled Doug Gilmore, and Fuhr made a couple dazzling saves late as the Sabres escaped, 3-2. Toronto wouldn't go down without a fight as they stunned Buffalo 8-3 in game two. Everytime Gilmour and Anderson touched the puck, red lights soon followed. Buffalo defenseman Grant Ledyard took several stupid penalties throughout, killing any momentum his team had. Toronto stormed out to a lead early in their first game on ho…

Carse does it again, sweeping his finals opponent enroute to his third straight A classic championship. After picking up 2 quick wins in the first two games, HABs went into hiding which was much publicized. He finally resurfaced 2 weeks after the first two games were played, and the stalling tactic didn't seem to do him much good. Game 3was dominated by Buffalo, although the score was close. two power play goals and a penalty shot goal provided the HABS all of their offense, and buffalo completely controlled the final 3 minutes of the game to a 4-3 win. Game 4 was even more lopsided than the previous, with buffalo out shooting mtl 25-7. When asked for a comment afte…

It will be a coaching rematch of the Classic 2010 Spring Finals as Montreal(canadiensfan66) is able to get by Chicago(dcicon5148) in 7 games. Montreal jumped to a 3-0 series lead with 3 tight wins over in Chicago. Chicago then came roaring back to win 3 straight games but it was just too big of a hole as Montreal rallied at home with a convincing 7-2 win. GGS by both coaches.

Carse (Buf) is back to his 3rd finals in as many years with his third team after an extremely entertaining and tough series vs sebe (Det). Buffalo threw multiple hay makers that have ended many series in the past, but Detroit would not go away quietly. Tight games all the way. The turning point of the series was late in the 2nd period of game 4 when Detroit had managed to cut the 4-0 Buffalo lead down to 4-3 midway through the 2nd. Shortly after, Lafontaine scored a goal to get the lead back up to 5-3 going into the third. The Sabres never looked back, as they went on to score another 4 goals to put the game out of reach. Chicago wins an epic 7 game series against Dallas to move on to the GENS B-2 finals. Home was the place to be in this series as the teams went winless on the road. Roenick & Co. shot lights out in game one, putting up 8 goals and cruising to a relatively easy 8-5 victory. Game two was a little tighter, with the action tied 2-2 late in the 3rd. Chicago erupted with two quick goals and prevailed to a 4-2 victory. Back in Dallas, Russ Courtnall woke up and starting finding the back of the net. Dallas finally started to find an answer for Belfour, putting up 6 goals. The held the lead most of the game and finished with a 6-4 victory. Game 4 was an unexpected def…
