  1. I'll get back on the pass shot tutorial on my site. I believe I have savestates of most of the clips I wanted, but I can create the rest vs computer. I tried to just use game footage from human opponents, but I forgot about this. I'll include the input controls on the video, it might help some folks. @Lupz27, I don't think I let go of the dpad either, it's still possible to do everything Depch is saying. I agree that it's a lot easier on keyboard, but dpad is viable (Ice/me as proof, lol). To his point, timing is everything, but I think learning the angles is more important. I see a lot of people "practicing" pass shots, but it's just slamming a shot at the goalie hoping for it to go in. Not a high percentage. Styles are different too -- Ice does the cross-ice slam so well, but I can't seem to get that down as well. Anyway, I'll do my best to get that section up sometime this week!

  2. I'm like 50/50 on this...I'll see if any Northeast folks want to split a room or something to help keep costs down. Flight to Milwaukee seems to best option...non-stop and cheaper, though it's like a 2 hour car ride.

  5. Pondhcky1 had to pull out of this season. He's a good bud and I thank him for his dedicated service to the league for the past three seasons. I'll send him the gold bud star in the mail. I've folded his team and released his players. I'll get xcing to fill out his roster and then we'll get er going.

  6. I'm in, just grabbed a Sega for training. Need to find or order a copy of 94. I liked 95 very much but much different than 94. Found a local shop in CT with several Sega's and games(no 94)

  7. Well there was def. some drafts where it swung too far in favor of fatties. Allowed me to get a really decent team despite having no 1st,2nd,3rd or 4th round picks. Was at the point people would pick fatties over slim dudes with better skills

  8. Thanks Brutus. I had a feeling that the online exi's is what I would need to do, and that's cool. I totally expect to get annihilated, so that's fine I did download Hamachi (waiting for for an email to confirm the attach client request), and I downloaded AIM again. I had used my screenname as my AIM since I had AOL back in 1997. Of course I couldn't remember my password and with no help from AOL as I had not used AIM in over 10 years or more, so I had to get a new screenname (LTNINGFan1), so at least I got those two things out of the way. Thanks for the info.

  9. Ok, fair enough. So would you play in a league of this type? I figure I need at least 4 A guys.

  10. That's a good point. Maybe have some "bans." After the B coaches all pick their teams, they could vote on which other teams to ban, so the A coaches can't use them.

  13. You're right, 0444 does produce actual seconds. (I compared it to a digital clock) Thank you. To compensate, 01230C:7406 should be changed to 01230C:7405, to make each "2.5 speed" penalty be 5 minutes instead of 6. (with 0444 for game clock speed, for each minute real-time exactly 2:30 of penalty time elapses, so 2:30 + 2:30 = 5 minutes at 2.5 speed) What I'm trying to do of course is to slow down the penalty clock speed to match the game clock at real-speed so we wouldn't need to increase penalty minutes with the other code to get 2 minute penalties like that. I am trying to actually find the "penalty minutes" clock speed code. Since the penalty clock speed is the same speed as the 2.5x original NHL '94 game clock, presumably it would be found by searching "0AAA" in the bin file of NHL '94. There are hundreds (not thousands) of 0AAA search results in hex memory found throughout the bin file, (and only two other 0AAA nearby the game speed clock which I have already tested) but if it's a plain number like the game speed code it would theoretically be 0AAA as well. I'm just going to try to change all those 0AAA to 0444 and go into a game and see if the penalty clock slows down to real-time. Maybe I'll stumble on to something else along the way. If I find it I'll be sure to post it.

  14. Assuming 0AAA is just a plain number, then I suspect that 0444 may give you real-time. The game clock runs 2.5x fast, and 0AAA / 2.5 = 0444...

  16. I think perhaps what I'll do is stick to my original plan to dissolve the teams (ie put the players up for rebidding with their existing contracts in place). Then AJ can rebid his team and ill give him the team with the highest cap space.

  18. Coach, the NES one does do save states. There is an option in the menu you need to turn on (press SELECT at the ROM selection screen), then I believe it's something like Up + Start to load the state, Down + Start to save it. http://http://krikzz.com/forum/index.php?topic=2554.0 The SNES version does not. Also, it should be noted that they all offer battery saves (SRAM). When you save in a game (that supports it), the save is written to the SRAM, just like a cartridge. When you decide to switch to a different game, the SRAM is written to a file specific to that game, then the new game is loaded into memory, along with the new game's save file. I have actually pulled the saved SRAM file of a specific game and loaded it in an emulator to play. Then you can save in the emulator, put the save on the Everdrive, and begin playing where you left off. It's a neat little feature, though it does take a little hex editing sometimes because the 2 save files may be a different size (usually just padding the end of the file with FF). They seem to have gotten rid of the original Everdrive MD v3. Now they just have X3,5,7. X3 and X5 doesn't appear to save states (my apologies), but the X7 does. http://krikzz.com/forum/index.php?topic=5775.0 Ugh hardest game ever. It took me like 20 years to finally beat the 3rd rat race in Level 10, then get stuck on Level 11 where the giant lollypop looking thing chases you.

  19. Hey Odell! Looks like the most updated version is 09, which is Genesis http://forum.nhl94.com/index.php/topic/9214-nhl-95-genesis-09-roster/ Probably would be a little too much work but if you took NOSE which is the editor for NHL games you could get and paste the post updated players in the 94 version into 95? Is an NHL 95 KUMITE in the future?????

  20. Chaos is probably using it for the website database? Export ROM to CSV, then copy the spreadsheet table into the database? Will future versions allow you to edit the spreadsheet and then import it back into the ROM? The Genesis roster tool does that (with the limitation that it doesn't let you change the number of players on teams or their names or positions -- only their attributes and sweater number).

  21. I'm not sure what's rarer, a Japanese version of EA Hockey, or a Clockwise appearance
