  2. Season 4 of the WHA saw the shuffling of franchises continue as Baltimore and Chicago were replaced by new teams in Cincinnati and Denver while Vancouver moved to Calgary to become the Cowboys. Ominously for the league, Denver moved to Ottawa before ultimately folding at midseason. In spite of their success in the standings and at the gate Minnesota suffered the same fate several weeks later, dropping the circuit to 12 teams. On the ice, Quebec's Marc Tardif won the "triple crown", dominating the league with 71 goals, 77 assists and 148 points en route to winning the Gordie Howe trophy as the league's most valuable player. Included in the ROM are all 12 teams which finished the season along with the all star teams representing the Canadian and US-based franchises. BONUS - Denver, Minnesota and Ottawa are included with rosters that reflect players who suited up for these teams. DOUBLE BONUS - The Winnipeg Jets and Toronto Toros traveled to Europe for their training camps and faced off against a collection of Swedish and Finnish club, national and all-star teams. I've included the 12 teams for which I was able to locate reasonable stats in order to cover all of your preseason needs. Player photos aren't always available or of very good quality but I've included what I can. 1976 WHA.bin

  3. UPDATE: Post-trade deadline version uploaded below! So here it is, the 3rd NHL 20 rom that no one asked for, and delivered quite late! All the usuals from my roms, but to take note: -Updated logos, uniforms, arena names and rosters for all 31 teams (rosters as of Dec. 2) -Player portraits for all NLC starters -Speed burst set to 75% of original rom -Many graphical hacks such as backup goalies and coaches on bench, net cam, better uniforms... -Anniversary center ice logos for teams that are using one this year -Weight bug fix, smoz 3-star formula -known bug with 32-team rom -- GAME WILL CRASH IF CYCLING THROUGH WPG (TEAM 31) PORTRAITS ON MAIN MENU Please let me know if you have any suggestions or bugs to report! 4. UPDATE: NHL20 V2 has been added to the BOTTOM OF THIS ORIGINAL POST - (excel sheet in zipped folder). Player rating and roster updates, player card changes (thanks Slapshot!), line change updates, team rating adjustments. I will update the playoff brackets on the trade deadline edition. Be careful, the original ROM is still above the screenshots (new ROM at bottom). Slapshot also added the board sound patch courtesy of Brodeur30. Hello, Here is the NHL94 ROM, updated for the 2019-20 season by me & Slapshot. Special thanks to @slapshot67 for his work on graphics and player cards! Below you'll find the ROM and Excel sheet. Excel is in the zip folder, which shows player ratings, "Skip's ratings", etc. Player rating updates based on last year's performance, roster changes, some new player cards, playoff brackets to reflect actual 2019 Stanley Cup Playoffs. Let me know if you find any errors! Notes: -This is the 32-team ROM (updated teams, logos, player cards and graphics by Slapshot67). -Updated team rosters for 2019-20 season (rosters and player ratings by Skip). The 32nd team is still the NHL'94 Hall of Fame team, with original NHL94 ratings! -Weight bug is fixed (heavy guys are harder to knock down), and this ROM uses weight + checking = hitting ability -1 minute penalties (except for injuries = 2 min penalty). You can do 5, 7, 10 or 20 minute periods. -Hot/Cold is accurate in the pre-game screen and in edit lines. NEW for 2020 ROM: 50th anniversary center ice logos for Buffalo & Vancouver. ROSTER NOTES: 3rd line is usually a mashup of best players on a team's real 3rd & 4th lines. Tried to keep scoring lines as they are in real life, or how they "should be" when players return from injury. Dustin Byfuglien is not included on Winnipeg's roster. KNOWN BUG: The menu screen will freeze if the player cards begin to cycle for team #31 - Winnipeg. There is no known fix for this. TOURNEY ROM has continuous OT. The regular ROM has 5 minute OT. (I'll add this later) Zip folder has excel sheet with all players listed, including the NHL94 HHOF All-Stars roster, and Ratings list for all 32 teams. -Skip NHL20.bin NHL20excel.zip NHL20v2skip.zip NHL20v2.bin

  5. Hi All, Thanks to JKline3, I've started an NCAA West 2019-2020 game for NHL '94. He did the graphics and pretty much helped me arrange things the way they needed to be. I've set up the entire WCHA, and I would like some help with the NCHC, Big 10, and Arizona State. I've set the teams pretty high in ability, like the NHL teams would have been for the game. Please feel free to edit as you can, and let me know if you wish to try to do anything with it. The teams have their up to date rosters, and I created the jerseys for Minnesota State home and away as well as the Bowling Green road jerseys (orange). Right now, the NCHC and Big 10 (without Notre Dame) is based on the Beaver33 work from 2014, and Notre Dame and Arizona State are just remains from the NHL teams next in line. Also, I can never start the third round of the playoffs as it always says there is an error before it can be played. If someone has a way to fix this, that would be awesome. Thanks, and enjoy! 6. Hello everybody, I'm uploading a rom made thanks to a collaboration between Stelex software, @Jkline3 and myself. It's based on the actual Swiss championship. Jkline made the logos, I did the player cards and the rosters. Stelex software made the rest. 7. If you're not familiar with the WHA, Wikipedia does a far better job of explaining than I ever could. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/World_Hockey_Association Long story short, if you're in need of your Whalers or Nords fix this is where it all began. Rosters have all major players included but lines are built similar to Deadline ROMs with playoff rosters and/or late-season trades in mind. However, if you feel the need to see Alton White in a NY Raiders sweater or Michel Rouleau as a Blazer they're all there and just a line edit away... Player photos are updated with some really, REALLY big hair. A lot of the graphics and player rating for later seasons are already done so hope to keep these coming relatively regularly. Comments, suggestions and (constructive) criticism always welcomed. 1973 WHA.bin

  8. The Howe family defended their AVCO World Trophy in '75 as the league welcomed the Indianapolis Racers and Phoenix Roadrunners to the fold. The Jersey Knights headed west to become the San Diego Mariners while the Los Angeles Sharks became the Michigan Stags - only to relocate to Baltimore midseason as the Blades. Bobby Hull scored 77 goals and captured the Gary L. Davidson Award as the league's most valuable player. San Diego's Andre Lacroix was the league's leading scorer with 147 points. Anders Hedberg was the rookie of the year and led the Swedish invasion while Ron Grahame took top goaltender honors. BONUS #1- if you're looking to relive the Stags' 3 months of glory they have been included as a team featuring only players who suited up for Michigan. BONUS #2 - following the success of the 1972 Summit Series another exhibition was held in 1974 under the same format featuring players from the WHA facing off against the Soviets. Leading up to and following the games against the Soviets Team Canada played a series of exhibitions against the Czechoslovak, Finnish and Swedish national teams as well as a WCHL all-star squad. All teams are playable. The ratings for these teams are HIGHLY subjective - there is simply no way to accurately quantify the teams with such a small number of games. I am well aware that, as an example, Marc Tardif is not a 48-rated player. I built the ratings to try and catch a snapshot of how the players performed over the course of the Series, not as a judgment of their overall skill levels. Feel free to change as you see fit. Ideas, suggestions, corrections always welcomed. 1975 WHA.bin On a personal note, I was fortunate enough to catch some of the Olympics in Vancouver in 2010. After a very long day my wife and I decided to pop into our hotel bar for a couple of cold Kokanees. We pulled up a couple of barstools next to an older gentleman who introduced himself as Gary. He was laughing about how he had picked the wrong time to come into the city for a dentist appointment. We chatted for quite a while, only later that evening did we discover that Gary was the younger brother of HOFer Darryl Sittler. While he never made it to the NHL he played a handful of games in the WHA. Working on this project I was sad to learn that Gary passed away several years ago. RIP Gary, thanks for the beers...
