  1. When NHL'94 was released (Sega Genesis), the first editions came with a sticker that said "Limited Edition 1st Round" and had a serial number. Mark Lesser actually has "00001" in his basement, which was seen as part of @McMikey's documentary "Pixelated Heroes". Here's an example of what the stickers look like: I have been looking at these numbers for a while and recently decided to start documenting them because it was bugging me. From the small sample size I gathered (mostly eBay listings), my guess is there were 30,000 Limited Edition copies, however I don't know what the letters represent. Factory seems doubtful given the scattered nature of the numbers. My guess is the letter was some kind of lot size, or shipping destination, etc. So far I have found EDIT: A,B,C,D, (no E), F, G, (no H) FOUND H, thanks Smozoma, I, J, K & L A - L!. Below is the running tally, sorted on the left by number and then by letter on right. If you happen to own a copy or find a number that is not listed, please feel free to reply to this thread! I frequently search eBay listings, so as other 1st editions come up there I will incorporate as well. Lowest number (aside from 00001) - 31 Highest number - 28,270

  2. CoachMac has a cart with different banner colours for NJ. I wonder if that could be traced toa particular letter or number series

  4. Version 1.1 of the Smallest Goal Rom has been released. This fixes an issue in version 1.0 in which all Players were Lefties in-game regardless of their handedness rating. This was due to a rom code that improves Goalie Diving Save Angles. In this new version, the rom code has been reverted to its original default value, which returns player handedness to normal, and disables the code that improves Goalie Diving Saves. In the ROM there are instructions on how to still get the improved goalie diving saves in the new version without it causing all players to be Lefties, which involves running 2 RAM codes in-game. In addition to fixing that issue from version 1.0, I have also increased the weight of all goalies by 4 ratings points in an effort to lower the amount of cheap goals. I also made some graphical improvements including adjusting the color of the player indicator.

  5. Hmm don't do that pressuring ^ :/ After doing Sask-VEG-LI-GB in a period of ~15 months in 2016-18 (plus a trip with friends to Iceland in 2015) I concluded/admitted that travelling was not for me and have only done the two Ko94s since then. That said, outside of the Ko94s, I'll probably go to NY/LI again (packaged as a trip with the girlfriend, like last time) and looking to go to MTL some time as it's close. (corbettkb won LI! Beat me in 3 games. I treasure the NYI pillow I won, though )

  6. Having new blood infused into a community likes this invigorates it. It's amazing how a childhood activity brings together total strangers from across the globe. When I started running tournaments in general(not 94 specifically), it would have been nice to have mentor. I did receive great advice from @halifax and @angryjay93 when I first poked my head in this community.

  7. This would be interesting for 2v2.

  8. First I'd like to thank @clockwise for volunteering to look after this. He's the 2v2 guru imo. Just some thoughts from comments made already 1. I'd say for the first one, we leave money out of it. 2. I'm kinda torn on how teams are picked. I like the idea of just picking a buddy and playing. But I'd voted for captains not being able to pick other captains. Pairs would likely be more even and produce closer games, which is always more fun than blow outs. 3. I'd recommend keeping it on the same day(instead of seperate days). Most people that play on their favourite systems are there for two nights. They'd now have to stay three nights just to play 2 v 2. There's King players and there's Duke players. I think everyone should have a chance to play 2v2, the same day. This also means I need to re-visit scheduling for King of 94. I've been looking at some ways of reducing time and games. ex. Having 4 RR wins (instead of 3) to move on the final bracket and putting the rest in the single elim wild card bracket to qualify. Also, going back to a best of 1 on the loser bracket side until the final 4 perhaps.
