  1. After discussing with a few other people it seems like a great time to revive the SNES draft league (SDL) after a several year hiatus. This post is to indicate your interest and make suggestions or ask any questions you might have about the format. I would like to run this starting this winter with games starting after Classic finishes. Since it will naturally take some time to form a league and run a draft, we can get the ball rolling straight away. @dangler has some experience with editing the rom and has volunteered to help out, which is great! @TecmoJon will also help out with commish duties. So thanks in advance to those buds. Proposed format: Classic rules: 5 minute periods, penalties on, no offsides, line changes off. Draft: Snake draft. Meaning if you pick 1st in round 1 you go last in round 2, and so on. Everyone drafts 6F, 4D and 2 goalies. Players would be redrafted for any subsequent seasons (i.e., no keepers). Trading: To be determined, but in the past trades had been allowed. All teams are unique so standings and stats would be tracked on nhl94online.com site as usual, subject to approval by@chaos The player pool is all the players from the classic rom. You can pick any team you want since it's a fantasy draft format. The players will be edited into your lineup. You don't have to use all of your guys but they are available as subs as needed. I believe in the past we had edited out home/road advantages to make all teams equal. I would propose doing the same here. I don't know if hot/cold ratings changes can be edited for players in SNES and I'm not sure I would want to do this anyway. To be discussed. I'm not personally in favour of turning off penalties, or editing the duration of penalties, but am open to discussing it. Depending on the number of interested coaches, my preference would be to run two divisions with the potential for promotion and relegation in the future. Under this format we can still do 1 draft, but coaches would be split off into two leagues. The number of games would depend on the number of teams. SDL IV was 15 teams and 56 games which I think is on the high side. It would be at least 40 games with checkpoints. If you're interested please respond below, and feel free to reserve a team. First come first served. We may have to cap the number of participants at some point and move people onto a waiting list, but let's see how it goes. See you on the ice buds. Sign-ups: See the list below compiled by Tecmo Jon. As of now the league is capped at 26 coaches so we are full unless people drop out. If you want to be put on a list to potentially replace anyone in future, just let me know.

  3. I have all the coding for madden 64 for the most part. Madden 92/93 will be the ones I update for next season...or atheist before the end of the this season.

  4. Alright I said I would start posting these before this year was out and since there is just over 24 hours left, I should probably just do it. Introducing the IIHF Hockey series. The idea was to make each of the NHL(PA) games for Genesis into its contemporary IIHF version. Complete with period correct art style, team assets and players. Ultimately the goal was to make it look like something EA might have released back in the day. Rosters, for the most part, have been taken from each year's World Championships. Some provisions were made in cases where say, some teams only had one goalie, so I borrowed a backup from that year's Olympic roster, or had to improvise some data because apparently no one found it important enough to record what sweater numbers the Estonian National team wore 26 years ago... what the hell eh? I start with IIHF 94. [Full disclosure, this is actually the third version of this game I'd made as the first was a foolish attempt to mod an original NHL94 ROM. Soon after I discovered that 30-team ROMS was a thing and made a second while I was just learning the craft and used an old Blitz league ROM to train on. I found a couple of critical errors, mainly how player cards were set up and some colour palette issues that were in the base ROM. Rather than keep polishing the dorodango, I opted to start over using my improved skills on a clean wboy 30-team ROM. I am much happier with the results] Some features: This game includes the top 30 international teams based on their finishing position after the 1994 World Championships. The Ice surface has been reverted back to its original 1994 goodness. Player ratings were a bit of a contentious issue, I opted to use as many player stats as was available in the original game and basically based everyone else off that. Player cards are almost complete [Who knew that finding 26 year old photos of South Korean hockey players would be almost impossible?] but at least even the "default player" pics are all unique. Many starting line ups were based on who actually had a photo available. No mind was paid to whether teams were in the "A", "B" or "C" pool as far a play offs go. I toyed with the idea of patches like weight bug and helmet sprite, but decided to stick to the default, again for the period correct feel. Might revisit that later. Anyway, here are some previews. Addendum for the series: I'm going to post the "Final Cut" updates here for the entire series as they are reworked. Again, thanks to @EagleXIII for all his help in resolving those nagging anachronisms. 5. I'm definitely in, don't care on team I'll wait until later and make a selection. Couple comments on editing. I can definitely switch all the players on the teams and set lineups. I'm not aware how to edit home/away advantages or penalty time lengths but if that's desired I could probably figure it out with a little digging into it and discussions with smoz. I'm pretty sure editing is very similar to the Gens version.

  6. I'd be in and take NYR if we're calling dibs. If it were up to a vote, I'd vote for no penalties since they are random and dumb and often negate the benefits of injuring other players. Injuring opponents should always be encouraged and rewarded.

  7. I did an edit of the rink graphics to dumb-down some of the detail in the crowd that you probably don't notice much at full speed. Ended up with max of 37 usable tiles. Using the full center ice for a logo can take up to 20 of those and you still need to edit the tiles that make up the actual circle to match the ice color of the logo. The other faceoff circles are bigger and would eat up the other 17 quickly.

  9. Look under Settings-Input-Input Hotkey Binds and theres a hotkey combo for Toggle Menu. It could be a combination of your buttons, Set it to none.
