  1. On Wednesday, 5 October 2005, the very first nhl94online.com Classic season kicked off. That makes the Fall 2020 Classic season the 15th anniversary season. It is simply stunning that the community has stuck together (even if old-timers like me went away for a long, long time...) for this long, as there is certainly no divinely ordained reason for this community to exist. So let's all thank Evan Eldredge once again for having the crazy idea back in the mid-2000s of devoting an *entire website and forums* to a decade-old video game and then the even crazier idea of organizing an online league.

  5. It's kinda sad that they couldn't draw inspiration from mine or @skip/slapshot67's or @naples39's current season roms. Especially, as that is what NHL Rewind is ...current rosters in the NHL94 skin! Ours contain the wonderful fixes, patches or enhancements created by @smozoma, @clockwise and @slapshot67. Fixes that improved what was already a classic. Take those enhancements/changes, throw in the new/cool custom skin tones feature, the new controller select screen, the achievement awards and make it available for online play. BOOM! Instantly better than their current NHL product line.

  6. NHL 94 Champion Edition v1.2.bin v.1.1 posted 11/30/20, removed 12/1/20, 21 downloads. v1.0 posted 11/30/20, removed same day, 11 downloads. Features 32 Teams, representing some of the best eras of each franchise. Every franchise except for CBJ, FLA, NSH, VGK (and technically WPG/ATL I guess) appears at least once. Not every team won a cup, but those who did received an overall boost, and special flair at center ice! I tried to limit it to one team per era, so while yes, the Oilers probably have 3 of the Top 10 teams ever from their run in the 80s, I on

  10. Amen! However, some can be converted to the cause. My wife, who met him and several others when we came to NYC event, saw (first hand) the passion and enthusiasm (and comraderie) for the forum/game. While she still isn't thrilled about me playing the game or editing my roms late at night, I think she "gets it" now. I used to belong to a now defunct NHL2K site. It was a blast getting to know other folks who shared a similar passion in addition to creating custom roster files. This site, has been an even better experience. Mainly, because I am far more pasionate about NHL94. So, that

  12. Hey Everyone. Ive been discussing with a few of the users on the site, specifically @SirPurr3 regarding updated TSB3 for Genesis. Since, there isnt an editor for SEGA, I've found a loop whole to edit the rosters through the NES/SNES editor. To do so, Ive created this step by step editing process to allow you do so yourself. What you'll need: Tecmo Super Bowl Manager 2000. (Attached below) A Version of TSB 3 for the genesis. (Attached below) HxD editor to make some the team name changes. (Attached below) 1. Download the 2 items, and extract the TSB3 editor and

  14. IT'S A BLOWOUT! NHL Jam 94 v1.0.bin Features Fast-paced, arcade-stick friendly, 2 on 2 action! Rosters based upon the 1993-94 NHL Season, with logos, uniforms, and player cards to reflect the era. Take on the Eastern and Western Conference All-Stars, or decide who will achieve global domination by pitting the North American and European All-Stars against one another! Just like NHL Jam 21 v1.4, the playoff mode is retooled to be more challenging, by working in the all-star teams. Like in NBA Jam TE, each team has 4 active skaters (and a goalie).

  15. All teams completed, and will have an added piece to spice it up. A document that shows strength+weakness, top players, Back story, logos, rankings, rivals and pre-season projections based on their ratings (I might be alittle unsure how who is better). Something Ill be doing for all roms moving forward as it adds a great feeling to read up on each team prior to playing the game. Draft sample to come.

  18. Hi everyone! As the saying goes, long time lurker, first time poster here. I've known this site for a while, but after watching the doc about NHL 94 on youtube, and seeing how welcoming the community was/is, I wanted to say hi and, hopefully, participate a bit in here. I don't have, sadly, any childhood stories related to this game, as I was born just a year later of the release of this game, and in a country where ice hockey isn't popular, but my first contact with the series was with what most people would call the lesser NHL title: NHLPA '93 for the SNES (on a old japanese SFC that som

  21. Hi Everyone! So, recently, I made some notable changes to my "NHL 2021 "Way too Early" ROM. In particular, I wanted to see how close (for my own taste) I could get the player ratings distribution to mirror the original version. It's not exact but I got pretty darn close. Now I have a 10 page cheatsheet (file) to help me with this endeavor with blueprints on how to add and take away players and keep the distribution %s the same. To do this, I took count of the original game's Forwards and Dmen (minus any dups who played on both ANA or FLA as well as another team) and did a side-by-side c

  28. Hi Everyone! I took my NHL94 2021 "Way Too Early" rom (the @slapshot67 template) and converted it to 3v3 play (file posted below the notes). Some notable changes/fixes/updates: *The game no longer freezes during the Ron Barr/Tonight's Match message screen. Special thanks to @seamorand @smozoma for their findings and post on how to limit player cards on this screen. That was the cause of the freeze in past versions. *Like the above, I limit the player cards in the Team Selection pages. You now see one Dman, a winger, a center and a goalie. *You can now edit/update PP units in the

  29. Oh I got the joke...look at the Madden series...garbage. I stopped playing in 09' with Favre on the cover, since it was the truest to the brand. Then, there is 2K5 which is the holy grail and could still beat Madden today. I found once, they made the NHL series more realistic and less about having fun, they lost the following. Now everything is about these MUT leagues. Granted the graphics look amazing, but it stops there. The last good year EA had any solid titles across the board was in my opinion was 06'. Madden was amazing and gaining speed, NHL had Dion Phaneuf on the cover, an

Phil Spencer from Microsoft thoughts to say about console tribalism, and it made me think about the ridiculous back and forth about NHL94 SNES and Gens bickering that goes on day in and day out on stream chats, forum posts, Discord, and Facebook. Both of the mainstream versions(gens/snes) have passionate players attached to them, and thus we have this amazing community of individuals who continue to celebrate BOTH versions of the game. I personally play both, and have about a 60/40 preference of Gens over SNES. That being said, despite owning a SNES and not a Genesis, I didn't play

Let's just say I'm plugged into the Empty Clip Studio guys with my questions, but they are just slammed right now. Should they get the green light from EA to update, online play and other bugs are on the table. It's just in EA's court now.

And then when you throw in the Russ "The Lesser Courtnall" Courtnall (h/t @TecmoJon), well then that collectively 67-rated bunch of fuckstains can make some goddamn noise. DanK
