  1. Los Angeles Kings It’s safe to say that for many SNES players, the Los Angeles Kings are easily among the sentimental favorite teams to use for a variety of reasons. Whether that reason is nostalgia, high end skill, destroying opponents with Marty McSorley, mimicking Fenty’s antics, etc., rarely are there ever any instances of the Kings not being used by at least a semi notable coach in any SNES classic league. Thankfully, the Kings of the early 90s possessed an abundance of top end talent at nearly every position that make this team an absolute joy to use and win with in NHL 94. For

  3. Hello All, I've decided to create this feed for the NFL Primetime football games from Sega Sports. This will allow everyone to follow the progress of the game as I update new features and players. Highlighted in BOLD Green is completed for the positions and DARK BLUE when a team is completed. Also, all the players (over 2200 players to update) will have their ratings, names, NFL Experience, colleges and 2020 player stats. Rosters Arizona Cardinals (QB, HB, REC, OL, DL, LB, DB, K/P) Atlanta Falcons (QB, HB, REC, OL, DL, LB, DB, K/P) Baltimore Raven

  4. Been quite some time, but it's finally time to release the final game in the Genesis/MegaDrive World Championship series. This one ended up having an unexpected amount of stuff to do [especially since I had always passed it off as yet another reskinning of the NHL 96 engine], not to mention simultaneously assembling a note file so I'll actually have some idea of what the hell I'm doing when I have to go back and fix something. Either way, this game feels like the game that EA was supposed to release in place of what would now be called the "Early Access" version that is NHL 97. Interesting t

  15. A New Model 3DS/2DS/3DSXL is quite possibly the greatest emulation device you can get your hands on right now. The entire 3DS, DS, GBA, SNES, NES, Genesis, Gameboy libraries in your pocket. Does alright with N64 and PS1, both are currently in the experimental stage as far as I know though. The older model can play most of the above games and is cheaper, just won't run as quickly.

If you buy the 16gb +64 gb version it supposedly comes with the games preloaded. Or you can load them yourself. https://www.anbernic.com/phone/eac_phone_sel_one?eng_ApplianceVo.eac_id=70 chaos: I'd just get a used PSP and hack it

  18. Not to interrupt the discussion regarding speed/agility but I want to retract what I said earlier (couple of posts ago) about aggression. Aggression has been confirmed to be tied to fighting tendency in NHL 93 but in NHL 94, it is most definitely tied to penalties. Looking at stats from the 1992-93 season, players with the highest PIMs were assessed 6s and 5s on down, in the game. So, it makes sense or why bother even having the numbers match stats? It's not an exact science as to who will take penalties and when but it does seem likely that certain players may be prone to take more or at

  19. @jer_33 did a test on speed and acceleration: I was under the impression that speed is the top speed. Agility is how fast they get to that top speed (acceleration). Agility also affects turning and how quick you can stop.

  20. Vancouver Canucks Though the Vancouver Canucks would not make their run to the Stanley Cup Finals until the next calendar year, the 1993 release of NHL 94, and especially on the SNES, sees the team display some of the same characteristics and qualities that the real life NHL team would later come to embody. As such, while this 16 bit version of the Canucks will never be mistaken for one of the game’s elite teams, there are certainly plenty of reasons why this team is not only above average, but can absolutely perform well against the league’s toughest competition and even despite one nota

  24. Hey Everyone So this year with the A league being as hot as it is with the world's top players, i am finding myself wanting to watch these games more regularly... while i LOVE the Smoz, Raph and Halifax Thursday Night Specials, they are not ENOUGH SO. The only way i can selfishly enjoy my evenings with a brew and chips in the times of COVID is to teach YOU slackers how to STREAM. My experience so far is that, while wired in, i haven't experienced direct lag from running a stream at the same time as playing a game so unless your internet connection sucks (In which case you shoul

  32. I use retroarch on my Android mobile. Sure, touchscreen controls are awful, but you can bind a variety of controllers to it if needs be. Battery life is decent, and emulation quality is generally good. The fact you can emulate everything up to PS2 era games on a moderately powerful 'droid is a big plus. Literally as cheap as free.

  33. I hacked my PSP and works really well (plus, the process is idiot proof). The battery life is awful though, regardless of whether you play ISO-based PSP games or old school games. Plus, in the UK anyway, they're still not that cheap second hand though.

  35. Off-topic, but I'm looking at the site, and I see what @kingraph listed for Agility/Speed is not what I thought. It says: Agility - How quickly a player stops and turns, deking ability. Also affects acceleration Speed - How quickly a player achieves top speed (acceleration) I thought Agility was the speed at which a player accelerates from a stationary position. Then it transitions into the player's SPEED stat Speed is how fast a player will skate after the agility acceleration (or deceleration) - so not everyone has the same top speed. The top speed of a player

  36. From Kingraph's strategy site: "Aggressiveness is a leftover attribute from ’93. Determines how likely a player is to fight. Unsure if this does anything in ’94." I dunno if it is true, but sounds good enough for me.

Here are some ideas for where to start. I suppose rating things out of 5 is standard. Add whatever categories you feel are necessary. 44. NHLHockeyorg.bin This is the single greatest graphic improvement ever made to 93. Check out the Center Ice logo Slapshot 67 made for this rom. I have seen other custom center ice logos but this blows them all way. Thanks again for being awesome Slapshot. Other improvements I have made to this rom. San Jose is now included I put in players from the dispersal draft even though the actual roster is purely fictional as the game was finished before the dispersal and expansion draft. I also did not include players on other teams. So San Jose handedness, weight etc.. is far from accurate bu

  46. Washington Capitals Highly under-rated on the SNES, the Washington Capitals are a team that brings forth many crucal skills and strengths at both ends of the ice along with the ability to counter any style of play offered by the opposing team. Thus, while not necessarily the most balanced or "user-friendly" team, Washington is one that can consistently deliver solid performances and provide more than a match for the most elite teams in the game.
