  1. or just create a Toronto tourney, as I know at least 10 guys who would be in.
  2. I'm not sure if this trick is posted somewhere, but to mix things up, if you have a penalty shot on manual goalie, and you change your goalies in the middle of the shot, you can then use your goalie to skate anywhere you want (i.e. charge up the ice and tackle the shooter at the blueline)... although it's difficult to control the goalie and you can't make any moves except skating.
  3. Definately true, the 50's range goalies are the best in the game for manual control, by far better than the Roy's and Belfour's. I think Jeff Reese is the best goalie in the game, mostly because he NEVER poke-checks (pokechecking is the devil when you're on manual goalie). Actually you can control the goalie pretty much the entire the game, that's my strategy. Any breakaways, 2 on 1's, or the other team deep in my zone and I take control of the goalie. It works very well for me.
  4. Mine would have to be the classic matchup my roomate and I had on the 10th anniversary of the game's release (March 2003). An old highschool friend of ours called us up to tell us that on that day in March (can't remember the day now), NHL 94 was released, so we of course had a few beers to celebrate, and then played the tenth anniversary game. We played a full game of 20 minute periods with our classic teams (I Montreal, him L.A.), and what a beautiful game it was. By the end of the 2nd I had a 7 goal lead, but he stormed back in the third to tie it at 22-22 and send it to O.T. Overtime was the most intense of our lives, and just over 2 minutes in Savard broke down the wing, did the infamous Savardian-spinerama in front of the net, and sent Montreal into the annals of NHL 94 history. It was probably the highlight of my entire life... and I don't think I've ever seen my roomate so mad.
