  1. Ohhh la la. Maybe this will do it! I’ll let you know if I do it and if it works. Thanks man.
  2. Has there ever been a Sega CD league? Is it even possible to play it online? I was fooling around with it today and it’s pretty cool with the updated sounds and music as well as the smoother graphics.
  3. It’s almost what I’m looking for but I’m looking for one that works with PC, not the original or mini snes. That’s what I’m having trouble with. Thanks though!
  4. Damn that’s what I thought. I’ve only been able to find Bluetooth with USB. Thanks though!
  5. I'm looking for a recommendation on a SNES style 2.4ghz wireless controller. I want to steer clear of Bluetooth because of noticeable lag. I've been searching for the last two weeks and I haven't found anything worthwhile. I know there is a nice Retrobit Gens controller(https://amzn.to/325TAHw) that I ordered and is on the way. I'd like to use this solely for playing Gens. However I'm looking to see if there's something similar for SNES. 8BitDo has a couple of 2.4 wireless controllers but one is for the original SNES hardware while the other is for the SNES mini. Neither have a USB dongle for PC use. Worst case scenario I just use my iBuffalo wired SNES controller, my wired Xbox one controller, or this new Retrobit Gens controller since it has L and R buttons. Edit: The reason I'm looking to go wireless is because my PC is connected to my living room TV and my couch is ~15ft away. I'm currently using an Xbox one wired controller with a USB extender but my kid has been pulling the cord or tripping over it and it's a pain taking it out and putting it away.
  6. I think they have a beefed up snes ever drive that allows fx games to be played. Didn’t even think about Mario Kart. Probably my favorite MK of all time.
  7. I bought a Raspberry Pi a few years ago so I moved all of my original hardware into storage in the basement. Today I was checking to see what I have left for Sega and SNES. I came across my model 2 as well as a model 3 I totally forgot I snagged from my in-laws basement a few years ago. I don't think I've ever used a model 3. Is there really a big difference? The model 3 does feel cheaper but seems more mobile to travel with. I wanted to see if I had a 6-button controller while I wait for my wireless Retrobit one to arrive. I ended up finding a weird third-party 6-button controller(far right in image below) that also has an L and R button. I don't remember the MK-1653 having those buttons but then again I never did own one growing up. I hated hitting the Start button on the 3-button controller to switch between kicks and punches in Street Fighter. Grrr!! Anyways this is my 8 and 16-bit hockey collection. One of the NHL 94 copies contains the instruction booklet while the 95 copy contains a booklet with the rosters and overall attributes. I thought I had 96 for SNES but I guess not. The weird controller is on the far right as well as the EA 4-way play. I've always wanted a copy of Mutant League Hockey but haven't been able to grab it for under $50. Plus, I've played it recently and the frame rate is awful. It's not what I remember growing up lol. For tournaments do people usually play on original hardware or modded original hardware(HD, Retrobit wireless controllers, etc).? I'm curious about getting an Everdrive for Sega and SNES but I have the Pi so I don't know if it's worth it for me. Thoughts anyone?
  8. Put him in whatever league I'm in. Bring me some @jmomonyc!
  9. I originally listed B league but not sure if I should be in B or C. SNES is my main console. I guess put me down as B/C and put me in whichever as needed. If this messes up numbers just leave me in B.
  10. Are the playoffs all one big tree or separate ones for veterans and one for rookies?
  11. I don't know how Mogilny is not already in there. He was the first to defect from the Soviet Union to play in the NHL. Not to mention he was a fantastic player. Roenick, to me anyways, has always been a huge deal to US hockey. I think those two have the best shot at making the HOF.
  12. I'm still interested in this. Hoping to play the ROM this weekend and explore the teams.
  13. Can you please add me to the waitlist?

  15. I wanted to give my feedback as I've really just started getting into this site after lurking for a few years thanks to the SoChel tourney. I know this thread is a few years old so I apologize if some of this stuff has already been implemented. As @smozoma mentioned, a weekly/monthly newsletter of upcoming leagues registering or ROM hacks being released would be beneficial. Having a dedicated registration button for each league would be great too in case you don't proactively check on it often. Once the league is officially registering maybe you get an email notification letting you know. If you decide to register then you can do so. If you decide not to maybe there's a way to notify the league admin. Otherwise if you do not respond after X number of days you will be removed from the league's list of pending coaches. I happened to see a league registering a few weeks ago through Discord for Gens even though I mainly play SNES. I just wanted to get my foot in the door and join a league. Coming back to the newsletter it would be nice to get notified of any leagues registering. An even better option would be to opt in/out for Gens vs. SNES or both! I think the Retroarch installation package was really easy to configure and setup a USB controller. Having a dedicated game night is key, especially being married and having kids. I already have one with my online poker buddies so it seems to work well. This keeps a dedicated time to always meet up and play league or exhibition games. I'm not sure how many regular season games are typically played in a given league but I would think any more than 30-40 could deter rookies from investing consistently. For larger leagues (20+ teams) maybe play each team twice or only teams in your conference 3 times so each matchup is essentially a best of 3. Smaller leagues(under 20 teams) could play more games and try to keep it under 30-40 games. With leagues there could be a rookie conference vs a veteran conference so the rookies can beat each other up while the vets still have fun beating each other up all season. The only issue with this is whoever wins the vet bracket will almost be guaranteed the cup. Otherwise there could be leagues for A/B or C/D similar to pickup ice hockey. I know I've seen some of these on this site and I think it's a great idea. Another thing with rookies is the learning curve with tips and tricks such as D control(SNES), manual goalie, pass shots, hitting Y to get your guy up from being knocked down(SNES). I know someone started the nhl94strategy.com site which is great but is incomplete. Obviously we all have lives and not a lot of time to focus on such things like updating. I'd love to help anyway I can but I'm still learning a lot about the game myself. I never used D control or manual growing up lol. Anyways let me know what you think and if any of this has already been implemented. I love this site and I'm just cruising through threads all day at work. Just don't tell my boss!
  16. I can only imagine how many of these guys are swamped with managing leagues and trying to push people to play their games on a deadline. The last thing I want to do is make demands as a n00b. I'm hoping to join some leagues to see how it all works and then run a few myself in the future. If I knew what I was doing I'd run a league now but I'm too scared. LOL
  17. For some reason this was always rented out at the local Blockbuster growing up while they almost always had a copy of Mutant League Football on the shelf. I remember playing this years ago as a kid and loving it. I played it again about 10-15 years ago using an emulator and it wasn't as good as I remembered it. However I would probably still buy both cartridges today for a reasonable price. If anyone starts a MLH league I would totally be down even though I haven't played in years.
  18. @KaBa78Will there be another Summer SNES league since this one is almost complete during the spring and it's still not technically summer yet? Here's to hoping...
  19. Hopefully he posts it to YouTube as I'd love to see this.
  20. I came across this and thought I'd take a poke at it. This is based on my dek hockey 'career'. Ice would probably be a bit worse but not awful. Position - D Handedness - Right Weight - 200 Speed - 5. I could keep up with the forwards and still race back before almost anyone could beat me back in my own zone. Agility - 4. I can bob and weave for sure. Off.Awareness - 3. I care more about defense but can score when I want to. Def.Awareness - 6. I've saved slapshots when my goalie was out of position and even dove headfirst a few times(dek hockey, not ice). Shot Power - 5. I've broken a kid's nose once off a face off with my slapper. Checking - 3. No check league but I could knock someone on their ass. Fighting - 0. Fighting's saved for the parking lot(jk) Stick Handling - 3. I could be better with this but I'd say I'm average Shooting Accuracy - 5. "Top shelf where mama puts the peanut butter and I hide the porn!" Endurance - 2. Keep that inhaler nearby. Roughness - 3. See Checking above Passing - 5. Very underrated passer. Aggressiveness - 6. I'm Irish. Nuff said. Overall: help?
  21. I successfully set up the Sega CD ROM today but there is no music. I did download the tracks from NHL94.com. I know most of you are probably cringing just reading this heading as it was a 'fun' process of getting it to work to begin with. All I want to know is if it's possible to get the music working with the ROM. I've been unsuccessful in doing so this afternoon. If it's not, I will just play the game as is. If it is possible I will continue my efforts. Any advice is also welcomed.
