I'm still interested in doing an updated version with the teams that are in the game.. @game-winning mullet I don't think anyone has figured out how to add more teams like the sega rom. I haven't had the time to go head first into this project but if other people are willing to try and start, we should at least try. If you want to try and contact Tru, go for it.

Is there somebody waiting on the bench to substitute in? Surely somebody understands that ROM mapping thread well enough to step up. There are many rookies and second-year players that I wish to see on the Nintendo ice and the last ROM was amazing -- can we have something like that again, building off of that last one?
Stefan, PenguinFan... do either/both of you feel capable of leading such a project? Would you want to take that on? Is there anybody in touch with Trudat still? His profile used to say that he was banned. (He is seemingly not in the Facebook group anymore, either.) Is there any hope of reconciliation with that guy?
Alright... I am just planting that seed and watering it with hope. I think we would be better off with somebody... ANYBODY... making Nintendo ROMs again. I would love to skate Vegas, wouldn't you?

I definitely can't lead the project as it's all foreign to me but am willing to help out. Sucks that Tru is gone as he seemed like he wanted to do it but it never really got this project off the ground. I don't know if he was waiting for me to start but like I've said before in this thread, I can do data entry stuff... I don't mind throwing on some tunes and going to work on that stuff. It's the graphics that intimidates me so that part doesn't interest me.
I looked into that hex editor and it was all way over my head.... made no sense.
If there is a team of people that want to work on it. Let's do it!

There hasn't been a good PC hockey game for a real long time so we've been having to make do with roster updates and mods and such to NHL 08... but there's still some old life left in some of these old games. I'd like to tell you about some of the video work I've been doing to breathe some new life into these old games. If you're a fan of 90s hockey than I'm sure you'd get a kick out of this!
The first is a forgotten game from Strategy First called Solid Ice for the PC, the gameplay isn't quite that great but it more than makes up for it in its endless customization. It was one of the first games that let you make custom logos (they even show up on the ice!) as well as custom jerseys and all the editable playerness. It's a really great thing but the gameplay is a bit lacking. Still I do my best to give it that real authentic hockey arena feel. Check out my playlist for it at Solid Ice - A Season (In a Coma) - YouTube it takes until game 3 to really get going but I think you'll like it!
The second is a series I started in good old NHL '95 for the PC, which already has a fantastic TV-style presentation to it. I spruce it up a bit and make it look real shiny and polished, and I also added a spin to it by letting my fans in the audience create players and such, even custom goal songs. They were slick with a good plastic coating on them. Not sure what happened to them though. -

Does anyone have a rink file that is the blue ice like in the PC hockey version before NHL95? or... a 180 from my previous question... is there a rink file out there that has the trapezoid behind the net on the ice? I'd be happy with either.
Any help is greatly appreciated.

Here are the 2018 Jersey files with the most recent update including the orange Edmonton Oilers jerseys (courtesy of goodbyeccha) and rosters (courtesy of myself).
East All-Stars are the Vegas Golden Knights and the West All-Stars are the Nashville Predators. Winnipeg Jets are.....wait for it... the Winnipeg Jets!

Whenever you get around to looking at rosters/lineups etc.. I found this site to be very useful with up-to-date lineups. They have line combinations at the top of the page for every team and it appears to be updated regularly.

Agreed. Nice work! I remember as a kid waiting for that ESPN hockey game to come out and was pretty disappointed with the end product after renting it from the local corner store. What could have been....
