I've been trying to get NHL99 running on my PC for nostalgia sake, I used to play as the Nashville Predators and trade for as many local boys as I could. PC version had a function where you could be "in the game", using a scanned image of your face you could create yourself and map your face onto your player. It looked about as good as you would imagine a 3D player with a 2D scanned image for a face should look.

Preds alumni and former captain Captain Greg Johnson passed away in July - had many great seasons with Greg as the league scoring champ. He was 48 years old, RIP.

NHL 99 didn't have that feature, because it debuted in NHL 2000.

    Edit: RIP Greg Johnson

  2. One of the things that I wish was possible is an editor for the PS1 versions of EA's NHL games.

NHLInfo can read the PS1 files, but it can't replace them, as it's made for earlier PC versions (pre-2004).

Say, for example, you want to update NHL 2001 on the PS1 to the 2018-19 season. Unfortunately, you can't do that. But with an editor for the PS1 versions of NHL, you can.

  3. It seems like anything to do with rosters once you create a player in the PS3 version of NHL 08 softlocks the game.

I tried entering the Player Movement screen. Guess what? It didn't load. I had to quit the game.

I tried editing players. I was met with a black screen with the game still playing. I had to quit the game.

What's the reason behind created players softlocking the PS3 version of NHL 08, when it works fine on the 360 version?

  4. I wanted to change the birth years of Sonic and friends so that they are accurate to the characters in NHL 11. However, the saved roster wouldn't appear in NHLView NG because of this damned error that also trashed my attempt in NHL 09.

    And yes, they're created players.

Is there any way I can escape this error, or will I need to reset the rosters?
