i tried the helmet/shoulder patch for nhl 97 and it didnt work. does it only work on nhl 94?

i have started to update all the team rosters on the NHL 2012(97) Version 2.0 - Trade Deadline Edition, released by Sabre Dance and updated by TheTome. now im reaching out for some help to update and change team names, logos, startscreen, backrounds etc to be able to make this a great new updated NHL 97 with rosters for the upcoming 2026-2027 season! all 32 nhl teams are already in it except for seattle and vegas so i need help with that. im especially reaching out to, TheTome, Sabre Dance smozoma and BuffaloCG for your help with this project but anyone with knowledge of this is very welcome to reach out and talk to me here or in pm 😃 i really hope we can do this together so that we all can share and enjoy this great nhl videogame!

it took me a while to understand exactly how to use the cheat code: on the main menu (where you select exhibition game, playoff etc) you hold A+B+C and then press START and hold all buttons until you get to the team selection screen, then you should see finland and czechia instead of sweden and russia. its the same cheat on all nhl 97 games btw 😉

heeey this is cool! sweden and russia available and if you press start+a+b+c on the main menu you will get czechia and finland playable instead. would have loved to see all of them together though, all the big 6 together!

yes it is correct that i cant access the international teams since they are replaced in this rom hack with the newer nhl teams for those spots. nhl 97 all stars is still there. and im only talking about regular game, not season mode. i am aware that only the "old teams" are there in season mode and that its hard to hack that particular thing. when i load up the rom in NOSE there are 33 team spots. when i play the rom on my mini pc (retroarch in batocera) there are only 31 teams selectable (regular game, not season). in NOSE i can see that 31 out of 32 present nhl teams are created, including seattle and utah (vegas missing) plus quebec and hartford are still there in the list of the created teams. but when i play the rom phoenix is still there instead of utah and nhl 97 all stars is there instead of seattle. hartford and quebec not visable. so what i would like to achieve is to see all our present 32 NHL teams playable in this game. that is nr1 goal. any extra team/teams are just a bonus and not that important to me. hartford and/or quebec i would happily sacrifice to see vegas in there. i know that just changing the team name in hxd isnt enough, but that it is also necessary to replace the team logos with programs like tilemolester or tile layer pro to have the new team names and logos visable in the game itself. so can this be done?

i found a hacked nhl 97 rom with teams and players updated to the year of 2012 and i want to update that rom. i have just started to use NOSE and i now know how to update the rosters to present day players and i plan to update all team rosters and share the rom here 😃 the all-star teams and national teams are replaced with the missing nhl-teams from that year. when loading the rom in NOSE there are 33 teams, including seattle, utah and also quebec but they are not visable when playing the game. so is it not possible to have those teams playable? i only know how to edit the rosters and team uniforms but to add teams seems advanced. i downloaded and installed HxD but i have no idea how to make this happen. would really appreciate some help and maybe we can make this happen together? if someone is good with fixing logos, game backgrounds and all that stuff i can handle the rosters for this game 😁

i have followed your guide and installed this program. it doesnt seem to be able to open the 95 roms though. i have tried both nhl 95 - 23 edition and nhl 26 - 95 edition and they both show same message

is there a 2026 version coming?

i wanna correct my self from an earlier post. when using the mode "regular game with trades" the option to save/edit/load edited lines will be available (except for anaheim and a few other teams). when you play a game without trades you can still edit lines but you will not be able to load or save them

ok so after i traded sam girard to penguins from avs for brett kulak and played with pens vs avs using the trades the game didnt freeze, thats great news. so only some teams causes that error, not all teams. i also noticed some defensemen are set as forwards for example john carlson, mikey anderson and drew doughty. no line changes in any teams can be saved/loaded. edit: not possible to make trades with anaheim ducks. game freezes. if its too much work to correct all this, maybe someone could fix all rosters so they are up to date instead? i really like to play this rom 🤩

i made a front boxart to this rom. its based on the old nhl 95 mega drive cover but with the new logos for ea sports, nhl and nhlpa
