  1. Phoenix's third jersey has been leaked. Just a quick adjustment to the sleeves. I've heard (and noticed) that the in-game line editor has trouble with dark jerseys. The numbers for several teams appear the same color as the jersey, making them essentially invisible. The problem is, it's not obvious how the game chooses the color of the numbers in the line editor screen. It's not the goalie mask color, the side stripe or the side spot color, so the easy options are out. That leaves however many mishmashed pixels that make up the jerseys themselves. It also means that I'm going to have to do a step by step survey, changing one pixel at a time, to fix it. In the meantime, you have several choices. Most of the teams' numbers are visible if you squint (only a few are truly invisible, like Det and Edm). Or, you can use an editor (like NHLINFO) to do your line editing. Or you can curse my name and declare vengeance. If anybody knows more about this, feel free to mention it.
  2. This is why I ask for comments in my thread. I don't have access to my files today to edit that, so I'll look at it tomorrow. I haven't yet figured out which pixel of the jersey corresponds to the color of the numbers in the line editor, but I'll look into it. Mario Lemieux would tend to have terrible numbers when simming with the original rosters, since he played a very injury- and fatigue-prone campaign that year. I also have a slight suspicion that the simulator doesn't like anybody with less than 84 games played, since that was the max games in 93-94. With everyone in the league 82 or less, it seems to add variation to the final numbers. You could always extrapolate out anybody who's really wrong to 82 (or 84) games.
  3. Vancouver's third jersey has leaked. The interior of the chest logo is reversed from what I have. I'll start a list of changes and will do an update once I have a few piled up.
  4. For your continued gaming pleasure, I present the 2008-2009 version of the Reebok EDGE Jersey Pack, complete with 3rd jerseys. 3rd jerseys as seen above: Boston, Buffalo, Chicago, Edmonton, Carolina, Los Angeles, Dallas, Montreal, the Islanders Ottawa, Philadelphia, Pittsburgh, St. Louis, San Jose, Tampa Bay, Toronto, Vancouver, Phoenix Western All-Stars Eastern All-Stars -- Some minor tweaks of the original jerseys are in there, but nothing too drastic. -- Includes .bat files for easy jersey switching. -- Also includes the above picture, suitable for framing. -- Yes, Ottawa looks like they're bathing in dijon mustard, but that's the latest report. Comments, questions, and lavish praise are welcome. NHL95jerseypack.rar
  5. Oh sure, don't create the only face-off guy the Penguins have. Very nice job!
  6. Well, since I'm talking to myself I'll tell myself that once again, the Official Logos of the Three Stars Reebok EDGE Jersey Update are provided by Johan Emanuelsson. Johan Emanuelsson © -- You Never Knew PCX Logos Could Look So Good!
  7. Well, at the latest count, 305 people were interested enough to click, and I can only take credit for being 200 of those. I played this game for so many years it holds a special place in my gaming heart, which is why I like to tinker with it.
  8. All Star jerseys! I decided to go with contrasting sleeves. The helmets and pants are a total guess.
  9. Two jerseys leaked today. Tampa Bay's is almost identical to what I already have. Maybe I'll toy with the "Bolts" text, but I don't think it can be improved beyond what's there. I'll add the shoulder emblems and call it a day. (Edit: done) I'm pretty sure I can extend the orange on the Philly jersey to the sleeves while I make them more accurate. (Edit: also done)
  10. Edmonton's jersey is out today. I fixed the lower jersey stripes on the original version.
  11. Toronto's third jersey is out today. The excitement of corrected blue stripes is now upon us.
  12. Sweet. I'm waiting for some news on third jerseys so I can get my jersey pack close to final.
  13. I just saw a picture of the All-Star jerseys for this year. Asymmetrical sleeves, vertical stripes. http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_r8tWGVHrjGI/SNq4...-h/homepage.jpg Montreal, you're KILLING me.
  14. I have no idea how that happened, unless the txt2db program did it. I just went into NHLinfo, and I can't find that number. Oh well. At least the stats are good. Well, except for Chris Minard. 40-some points is way too many for him, so feel free to give him a zeroing.
  15. Ok, I'll send it back. I did a few goalies into the b's, but not many. There are a few guys with unedited stats, but none of them have high enough stats to matter. Oh, and I made Kris Letang a righty. Real Life has kept me busy, so this is better off in your hands. Edit: Removed the attachment, considering it's messed up and people seem to be downloading it.
  16. I wasn't planning on doing the playoff stats. Laziness mostly, but once you're playing playoff games the only stats that really matter are the ones from the games that are actually played (not simmed). I'm pretty sure the default playoff teams are hard coded, but having the regular season stats correct will tend to get the appropriate teams in the playoffs when you sim a season. I've seen other people try to mess around with that without success. Same with divisional alignment and scheduling algorithms. You can put Colorado/Quebec in whatever division you want, and it will show up that way in the standings during the regular season. The problem is in the playoffs, where they always reappear in the Eastern conference. Plus, you can crash the game if you're too vigorous in changing divisions and conferences and such, since the "central registry" is hard coded a certain way. I'll grab your update and get to work. Edit: Ok, I've got a list ready for all teams and have run the program. There are a few players that it strangely seems to not be able to find, like Phil Kessel, even though they're in there. Then again, nobody could find Phil Kessel for stretches last year. I'll update those manually, as well as the goaltenders. It's football time, so I'm done for tonight.
  17. Yep, that'll work. I'll try to power through a bunch of them today. Will you be updating the team stats? (W/L/T/GF/GA/etc)
  18. NHL Hockey 95 for PC is my personal favorite, just for the sheer customizability. I bought several of the later games (96, 98, 2002), but they never kept me interested as long as 95. Heck, I'm still designing jerseys for 95. I played a lot of NHL 95 for Genesis in college. I never found it as terrible as some people here.
  19. Now with third jerseys! Many thanks to http://icethetics.blogspot.com/ and http://www.jerseydatabase.com/blog.php?p=22 for images, descriptions, and speculations. As many of these haven't been officially released, some of their colors and details still need work. Also, pants and socks details are mostly not available right now. I don't think I'll be including the last Montreal jersey, unless someone really wants it. Questions and comments are welcome. Edit: New preview picture above, complete with sarcasm. I'm waiting for the releases of Los Angeles, the Islanders, Ottawa, San Jose (although they should be pretty predictable), and Phoenix. If they're not out by the time Triumph releases his roster update, I'll clean them up and release the jersey pack as is, with the option to redo them once they get released.
  20. Here's some good news... I found a stats editor in the "NHL 95 forever" zip that will automatically update player stats based on a text file. It searches by name, and then updates the stats accordingly. This means that I'll spend some time getting the text files updated (one for each team), and once we're ready, I can update the entire league in less than a minute. Edit: I have 9 teams left to go.
  21. Yeah, I'll likely put the majority of the thirds into "homepals.bin" with the rest of the dark jerseys. The only white thirds that are being released are Dallas's and Toronto's, and those will go into "awaypals.bin". When I re-release my jerseys for this year, there will be two sets of those files...one for regular jerseys, and one for thirds. You just have to either copy and paste the files (carefully!) to get the one you want, or keep them all in the directory and rename them as needed. I guess if I was really feeling creative, I could create a .bat file that does that for you. If you're looking for some more inspiration about player ratings, there's always the current NHL 09 ones: http://xbox360.ign.com/articles/898/898201p1.html . Most of their ratings can be directly translated to NHL 95 PC, and the rest can be averaged or something. As your official Penguins correspondant, I can tell you that Satan and Dupuis are on a line with Crosby, and Staal and Sykora are with Malkin. Anyway, once you give me the go-ahead (i.e. you don't have any real player editing to do for a while), I'm going to correct the stats for the top 10 or so scorers on each team, plus a few free agents. That should be enough that the simulated stats won't be too weird.
  22. I'm looking it over now. On the Penguins roster, the only player that looks off is Miro Satan, whose attributes are low for a offensively aware sniper with good accuracy. A minor quibble would be Crosby and Malkin. IMHO Crosby is a more accurate shooter, but Malkin shoots harder. Once you reach some kind of stopping point for a few days, I'd be happy to do some stat editing for you. Here's a sneak preview of some third jerseys. I still have some tweaking to do, not to mention all the other thirds.
  23. I'll do the jerseys. I have my jerseys from last year (which include logos valid through last year) and it shouldn't be too much trouble to add the 3rd jerseys as they are released. Let me know if you're adapting the All Star teams into NHL teams, so I can get the right jerseys in there.
