Alright I'm in

(2) Depch - Boston | 5.32 GF | 3.25 GA | -300
(7) HABS - Montreal | 5.48 GF | 3.76 GA | +300
Season Series: 3-1 BOS
These two teams met early in the season, where Montreal was struggling to get anything out of their lineup of Kamensky-Klima-Verbeek, Boston dismantled em for 3/4 games. Much has changed since then as the team is playing much better since the second half of the season. Montreal was the 2nd highest scoring team in the league while Boston ranked 4th and each team was ranked 7th and 6th respectively in GA/G. Boston's formula of speed with Hogue-Ronning-Reichel and great huge dmen Bourque-Fetisov has paid off quite well. Depch has a had a super consistent season and manages to keep all games within reach. Boston also sports the best Away record at 22-5. Prediction: Mtl in 7 or Bos in 4
(3) Flamingpavelbure - Quebec | 5.33 GF | 3.91 GA | -300
(6) zepplin - Hartford| 5.31 GF | 3.17 GA | +300
Season Series: 3-1 QUE
FPB has had a pretty incredible season considering he has started Stephane Fiset as a point. Not sure if he's going to continue doing this into the playoffs. Quebec also boasts the best PP% in the league at 39% while Hartford sits 4th at 30.3%. Zepp has had a real solid season with a balanced and very speedy attacking unit in Bure-Turgeon-Courtnall and Leetch and Wesley on D. This much agility has given many teams issues. While Quebec boasts a more rounded lineup with Jagr as a bruising, agile playmaker, Sandstrom with the best shot in the game and Zhamnov a crafty, agile, passer. Ellet and Blake round out the lineup. FPB tends to step it up in the playoffs and I think this will be a tough matchup for Zepp despite him playing so well. Prediction: Que in 7
(4) Brutus- Philadelphia|4.92 GF | 2.77 GA | -135
(5) IceStorm- Buffalo| 5.27 GF | 3.17 GA | +135
Season Series: 3-1 PHI
These two teams are built totally differently, this should be very interesting. Brutus has arguably one of the toughest lineups to face. A lineup that features two of the game's biggest stars in Mario and Roy. Mario has been utterly dominant this season at 3rd in league scoring while Roy was 2nd in GAA, 6th in SV%. Ice has been playing well defensively with Moog as well 3rd in GAA, 3rd in SV%. Brutus' bruising hard hitting lineup gives opponents split seconds to make decisions and makes it difficult to get through to the net. Brutus and Ice were #2 and #3 ranked in GA/G. This should feature a nice and dirty low scoring series. Brutus is having a career year, let's see how far he can take it. Prediction Phi in 7.
(1) KingRaph-New Jersey
(8)TexasPachyderm-NY Islanders (Won 4-2)
Well this one is done before I could say anything. Huge upset. Tex has been rolling lately and it is nice to see an 8th seed take out #1, cudos to Tex.
For the PATRICK division hoping somebody in that division can help write up as I won't have the same perspective as you guys and haven't played as many games vs that side.

Can we get the season deadline to come sooner? Say April 15?? Seems like it is quite doable.

I actually get annoyed with this stuff. I realize some guys get out ahead of other guys in their games played.
Season set for 56 games and 8 weeks.
We are 16 days into the season, and we are at 49% of games completed. Basically 6 weeks left, and I'd say we are well ahead of pace. If we get to mid April, and it's the same guys still behind, I get something like this.If you are PM'ing a guy, messaging specifically that player on Discord (AIM in the past), and also calling them out on the forum, and they are NOT responding to you with any response, then please forward this information over to me. I will get them to reply or replace them.
AGAIN, just showing up when we are available, asking for games, and announcing it dead isn't accurate.
For those trying to finish their season EARLY, the following guys are going to be hard to play right now:
J&J was sick and then on vacation. Scheduled to return March 19th.
Lupz is dying and might not ever recover! (He's been laid up in bed for 2-3 weeks now. All jokes aside, get better bro.)
Ice has been traveling for work and backed up. The few nights he was clear for lots of games, noone was around.
Atomic is dealing with a computer issue that is causing his league games to be lagged beyond.
Pearate is dealing with something similar and might be part of his lower participation rate.
Darko is in France and is a f&cker. PM him when you know you will be around on a weekend, and he's normally good to find games>
CBK does not OFTEN log into the AIM/DISCORD setup. I find sending him a PM in the past was the best way to get games with him.CHEF is generally up really early in the AM and as such, goes to bed really early. Guys looking for games with him who DO NOT find themselves on closer to 6 pm to 7 pm eastern should consider trying to set up via PM or Discord a private conversation when you could schedule a game.
Ok ok not dead, was just a little lul for a few days. My bad on the overreaction. League is definitely going very well in terms of completion. Discord has made things much smoother!

I have no reason to lie about anything in 94. Believe what you will. This thread has reminded me that I haven't been doing a lot of this strategy on purpose lately. I'll have to start incorporating it because it's very effective. Loft right over your D and catch it as it hits the ice. My unintentional ones are risky and detrimental, I admit that. I have no tolerance for playing against Brutus anyway, his laptop is not sufficient for gaming and causes a sanctuary lag-city. Even my games vs AJ and Depch are buttery smooth since I bought a new PC last year and upgraded to fast internet. Some of you people's laptops are laughably inadequate and cause the same problems (I won't name any other names, cough cough Lupz and a couple others).
You do realize this game requires very little bandwidth. Jitter/latency are far more important and there aren't great ways to minimize that. Also Gens works fine on super old computers as long as they are well maintained.

Do we have to log in just to see standings?
Can you not make the standings page public? Too much effort for outside observer to take a peak at the league.

I agree with Depch and view CB as an evolution in the game. Just like pass shots and B checks. It's cool that we're able to discover something new in the game. CB isn't going anywhere and it doesn't take rocket science to get the hang of it. Sure it may change the way we draft but that's only natural. Previous GDL drafts were getting stale and boring as the same players would always be drafted around the same spots. Now we have some crazy variance and fluctuations in ADP, and people can actually find hidden gem type of players. Sure Raph is dominating right now but he's had a huge head start of everybody with CB and knows exactly how to draft his guys. As we get more drafts you'll see those advantages slowly go back to the norm (where Raph is still ripping it).
