  1. Just finished a 3 game set.... game 1: 4-1 Canada (Dmac/Elio over jesus/EA) game 2: 5-3 Canada (dmac/elio over jesus/EA game 3: 12-3 USA (jesus/EA over dmac/elio) so Canada takes 2 games, USA takes 1 good games, very close except for that last one
  2. Thats cool man, I wouldn't consider myself a pro by any means. I have played 2on2 quite a bit but nowhere near experienced as many of these guys. We came close in all 3 games, I'm not worried, we'll get them the next time
  3. i don't know whats going on, but I'm never seeing anyone online anymore. Well, at least I'm not seeing anyone of the 4 guys that we are pending to play. Is this tournament dead now? or do we just wait however long it takes? because i could have sworn that we were supposed to end the first round on the 30th
  4. ya we are using the gdl 2ons season 3 rom that we've been playing exhibition games with all the time this is my first tournament online.... I come online monday night and noone is here, well except for a few people. Have you found in the past that it's hard to get 4 people all online at the same time to play games? Not just any 4, but the 4 required to play
  5. Ha Ha Whoa. We're on the same side here brother. My whole point was that I have noticed in the current rom that some guys are not the same as the others. My example being buffalo vs anaheim. In the case of the current game, although the teams are equally rated, buffalo is much slower. I hate that, I want all the exact same. BUT, if it has to be that way, then I want my guy to be faster skating I just want to make that known so either way the rom gets edited, I'm fine with it
  6. is there any way to edit the overtime to be 4 on 4 instead of 5 on 5? And after one overtime you get a shootout to decide it. Just a thought, I've never hacked any of the games myself so I don't know how much can actually be changed
  7. s**t i forgot something else, seeding sounds good, it would work "in theory" but I think in order to obtain accurate seeds we would have to play a series of 1 on 1 games in the 2v2 rom to see who is better than who. And then at that point the seeding is based on how good a person plays with a computer teammate. I think the best way to assign numbers is to have someone who has played enough games with each person involved to just "eyeball it". It won't be exact, but it will be close enough.
  8. I dunno if this makes sense, but in my experience with the current GDL 2on2season 3 (or something like that) rom, although the teams are "equal" they guys aren't necessarily the same. Allow me to elaborate...I think it's buffalo, they have an "overall" equal to the other teams, but I find the guys skate slower than the dudes on Anaheim. They must have better shooting accuracy or something like that to make up for it overall. I personally would prefer a faster skater, over a hard shot any day. So am I just hallucinating or is this true? is there going to be amendments made so that equal teams are equal in every way, or just in their overall rating. Also, hokkee....is out, so who wants to play on my team? I saw a few names listed who were still pending placement. Let me know anyone who wants to play alongside me. Team preference....well if everything is equal then I don't have a preference at all, as long as they are equal its just a matter of the jersey colors....So Chicago is cool, black and red. finally, my two cents...every team is in the same group for the round robin. Then top 4 proceed to the next round (semifinals) and so on. The way I see it, one big group means more 1st round games, and that gives a much more accurate standings at the end of the 1st round. So a good team that had 1 or 2 unlucky games won't get absolutely screwed.
  9. the teams look fine to me. Am I paired with hokeefan? I've never played with him before but that doesn't matter. So hokkefan, how am I going to get a hold of you? are you on aim? maybe I already have your name on here but I just dont know it. if you fear that you can't get a good enough connection then I can pair up with someone else, I see a few more people looking to get in, lemme know whats happening and I'll make a move from there
  10. Hey you can put my name in as well, "ElioPrashad" or "Elio" is fine. I dont know who'll i'll play alongside, but it doesn't really matter to me, I'll pair up with whoever.
  11. ha ha oh man, nhl 92 was an awesome game! As far as voting for one or the other, I still have to go with NHLPA 93 as my choice out of the two, but for the record, NHL 92 was great in its own way. I have played alot of '93 and can beat those damn goalies so easy, yet when going back to 92 its not so easy anymore. Better goalies? maybe, maybe not but it seems that way to me. Also, I love the fact that when you pause a game, the score board shows you the game stats which includes a "fights won" column. I remember playing 20 minute periods and forget the score! The winner is he who wins more fights. Plus, it was so easy to start fights. We used to award bonus points if you started a fight as Wayne Gretzky and won. I still remember to this day once when I was younger. Taking my friend's money because he bet me I couldn't beat him with Wayne Gretzky if he was Gary Roberts. Keep in mind Wayne takes 1 punch to hit the deck, Gary takes 13! That was a great day for all the Gretzky fans out there, he laid the hurt on Roberts early in the second period. A flawless victory. The same was later repeated with Brett Hull, who takes a mere 2 punches to go down. it was a bad day for roberts.
  12. this is a tough question I personally prefer going up, and therefore I would rather be the home team more often than not. BUT lately I have paid more attention to how many goals I've scored and how many I've let in....It appears that although I like going up, I score more and I get scored on less if I am going down. I dunno, some sort of reverse phychology thing going on. On nhl 99 (for nintendo 64) I even go as far as to change the camera angle in between periods so that I'm always going up.
  13. Most underrated eh? Well keep in mind, these are based on gameplay mostly against the computer....but I think their skills are easily transferred to the head to head game play as well Valeri Kamensky - Quebec (Along side Sakic and Sundin, this guy is amazing! I have found he is almost the perfect dude to have around making those valuable passes that allow Sakic/Sundin to break loose on a breakaway, or bury a top shelf one timer.) Steve Larmer - Chicago (Same as above, Steve is to Roenick what Scottie Pippen was to Michael Jordan.) Paul Ysebaert - Detroit (Often overlooked on the game...along side Probert, Yzerman, Fedorov, Ciccerelli, Coffey, etc, etc...but I realized his talents while playing NHLPA 93 hockey, and he's only improved since then) Joe Mullen - Pittsburgh (Awesome guy to play with, I find he is great at throwing the body around as the pittsburgh third line guy. When the big boys take a seat on the bench, unfortunately pittsburgh suffers from many slow skating goons, Joe Mullen is fast, and along side Ron Francis he can easily put in just as many goals as Lemieux) I could go on forever, but I am gonna go and check around some other discussions. Maybe I'll come back in here and add to this list later
