  1. ... Thanks for the responses. My apologies - I should have been more clear about what I meant, which was seeing the CPU replace a starter with the backup in the midst of a game. ... Ah, why didn't I think of that? I have your plus-minus mod (it's magnificent) and that'll definitely work well enough at providing that info.
  2. ... A few questions regarding goalies in NHL '94: 1) Is there info within a savestate file which indicates which goalie was the starter in case a goalie is pulled? 2) Is is just me, or do backup goalies never seem to start games? I remember backups starting quite a bit in NHLPA '93. 3) Have any of you seen the CPU pull a goalie during a game? I've played countless games and can't seem to remember even one instance of it. Many thanks in advance!
  3. ... I've looked everywhere here for the offset hex that gives the three stars. Can anyone help me with this? Thanks in advance.
  4. ... What are your recommendations regarding a program that can extract these numbers? I'm using Donch's stat extractor for NHL '94 but I can't see any reference made to players on the ice when each goal is scored - nor can I see any reference to Time On Ice. Any help you can give me with this would be very much appreciated.
  5. ... I'm probably not as good as the guys here who are getting 70-80 shots a game, but what I do to limit myself is -- I usually play with lower-tier teams like Ottawa, I'll use auto-goalies, I don't use backhand passes or shots (except rebounds), and I rarely use one-timers (maybe one every 3 or 4 games). I try to keep the flow of the game as realistic as I can; I use offsides, I use full line changes, if I get a lead, I'll concentrate more on defense, or limit myself to scoring on rebounds.
  6. ... Yeah, I already figured out what the problem was. In the first screenshot I showed above, the palette offset number was 1083144, and the actual palette offset number was listed later in the tutorial as 1083114. It was just a minor thing that I should have spotted. Mods here can delete this thread if they want, my apologies.
  7. ... I'm taking my first real stab at rom hacking, following along with Wboy's tutorial for Tile Molester, and on the first EA Sports splash screen I'm getting a different result from the example. The example looks like this: My attempt looks like this: Does anyone have an idea of what I am doing wrong here? My apologies if this has been covered, but I was unable to locate the thread. Thanks very much in advance. EDIT: The palettes seem to line up alright after trying other screens and palette offset hexes within the ROM and then going back to the first splash screen; I'm not sure why they weren't showing up correctly the first time, but I've seemed to find a solution, however temporary.
  8. ... First off, I have to say that this is a terrific thing you're doing. Just one thing about the Stat Generator, though. The penalty minutes in the game screen seem to be off: Here's the link. I was playing as Ottawa against the Rangers, and noticed the penalty minutes seem to be applied one guy higher on the Rangers' list than they should be. Richter didn't play in the game, and was charged with 4 PIM, which should have been listed for Messier. Messier was actually listed with 2 PIM, which should have been listed for Nemchinov. And so on down the list. I'm sure it's just a minor glitch, but I thought I'd point it out for sake of accuracy -- and for the fact that this program is so useful and good; I'll be using this constantly. J
