What's the "B01s double elimination" format?
Best of 1 (1 game) with double elimination tree (winner and loser bracket)

Well I'm aware that there's a tier list I'm just saying I don't believe anybody here should be that good at it but we can go with the tiers if people really want it.

Not sure if I'm interested in joining a league full time but it would be nice to have a tournament with the guys here since most of us don't play full time.
Format would be B01s double elimination hopefull with 8 or 12 teams.
I would like it if nobody picked OAK but that's up to the people in the tourny.

I'd request that you record the games and send me the krec. I'd be happy to do a commentary of the result of things you can be aware of for next time.
If I were going to play FPB, here's what I would be thinking (though I haven't played him in GDL this season):
* Ellett/Coffey will be more involved, slick skaters, do not chase them. If he brings them in, carefully try to check down for a breakaway opportunity.
* Very traditional scorer, one-timers and dekes. Not a big pass-shooter, so don't play against that. Unlikely to do give-n-go, so can guess on first pass one-timer.
* If I had to guess on a breakaway deke, start with the forehand until he starts changing.
* Plays aggressive goalie, so try holding the puck an extra second, or making an extra pass to get him out of position/dive. However, he may be more reserved with Belfour, and against lesser skilled opponent.
* He is patient on D, driving to the center will not be successful most of the time. Think about taking a dman behind a forward to cause traffic/chaos. Wrist the puck at the net to also try and create some chaos if you can't get close.
* Not a big passer, will carry the puck with one person. Opportunity to check, but he's crafty, so be careful not to overchase if you're missing.
Good luck! Strategies can take you only so far, most games come down to consistency (focus) and reducing mistakes/capitalizing on others' mistakes.

Dont get me wrong, I love me some Bradley, but I still think TB is worse than all those teams.

Idk sometimes he feels redundant on DET because the offset of being out of position by bringing the puck up ice isn't really there when there's 2-3 other good to great skaters on the team. When I bring the puck up with him on my GDL he's by far my better skater so it's kinda worth it but on DET it's pretty iffy.
I'd only play him if I'm vs a 5-5/5-4 skater with a decent shot -
With the B check, and especially now with the C-B check, guys like Coffey are way more useful defensively. Also what I've gathered from other threads is that Plabax is much better than most players at keeping his distance and avoiding getting hit. Long story short, I guess Coffey is more of an advanced player to use.
He's still a bad C-B Checker cuz his checking rating is low

Ive been converted to Coffey. Tho I gotta say at 212 and low check rating his defense is some fierce garbage in some situations.

I got about 20 games in early in the season while you were MIA and had zero GP. Then I went weeks of not finding the hard to find coaches. It's a domino effect, some people don't see others on often so they don't log on themselves as much. Lots of guys waiting till around the time of the checkpoint either because of procrastination or because they know that's when they'll likely find the others. If there were a new league with different rules, I'd be out of GDL in a heartbeat. It's become annoying, too much of a chore IMO. So, yes, I think it does need to just die. I think the system is flawed. I'm allowed an opinion. By the way, you'll get your games w/me, don't worry.
I actually feel bad for Brutus. He put in so much time and work into the draft. Only to have to replace multiple guys and still be on the lookout for more replacements with so many others not getting their games. I could totally see why he isn't interested in commish'ing another GDL for a while.

The shitfest of the last classic/GDL just killed my interest. I think I'll go retire again. Just playing in other games' league gave me a bit of perspective on how ridiculous these things become. I'm not interested in dragging people into playing me anymore so goodbye lads. It was a decent run.
