  1. In this update I've redone all team jersey colours (Credit to trudatman) Changed defense control to be default ON Added water bottles to top of net (With some help from trudatman) Re-did team banners (Credit to trudatman) Replaced Ron Barr with Don Cherry (He's a controversial Canadian icon who's sort of gone senile in his years) Changed arena names Changed overall ratings Edited some text for personal preference (Changed aggression to discipline, changed Regular season to exhibition, and some other non necessary stuff) Edited playoff seedings to reflect that of last years (Will update once playoffs come along this year) Replaced old teams with current teams, replaced All Star teams with Nashville, and Minnesota Edited starting menu slightly to reflect stanley cup participants as default teams Updated rosters on all 28 teams to accurately reflect their overall performance over the last 2 years Updated lines Updated team advantages to accurately reflect how each team is performing up to date using a formula to divide the amount of teams by the amount of points per specific advantage, and allocated evenly. Changed Regular Season overtimes from 5 minutes to 20 minutes (Ties suck) Changed 20 minute periods to "Highlight mode" which is essentially a 1 second period... If used in playoffs, you can watch computer players "highlights" occasionally. Kind of a silly thing, but me and my buddies like playing drinking games for them. YOU COULD TOO! I spent approximately 30-40 hours on this, doing all my balancing by completing a team, opening the rom, checking players ratings, and adjusting accordingly to each specific players performance, as well as my own opinion. I used this website: http://www.forecaste...playerindex.cgi to see player specific "Assets" and "Flaws", as well as up to date stats... and this website http://www.capgeek.c....php?team_id=22 for current rosters Each player should be fairly accurate to how they are in real life based on that website, and my own opinion... I didn't just randomly choose their ratings for them. The website was comprehensive enough to get a good feel for how they actually play even if I wasn't too familiary with the player. If there's any ratings that you feel are unfair based on in game comparisons to other players, let me know... I feel I had the hardest time with defense ratings. Some players might be rated lower because it's hard to be rated high as a defensive first player as there's only a few attributes in the game that are geared towards defense... If there's any requests for the rom, I'm willing to consider and adjust... ENJOY!!! If there are any glaring problems, like lines, or players who should be +5/-5 in rating, please say something. I feel everything is accurate within +5/-5 rating, and since I don't watch every single team, it's difficult for me to tell. My player ratings are done via a specific formula. It won't always be accurate since I am ONE MAN. Hope you enjoy. NHL 13.rar
  2. Why would you have the fourth liners for the powerplay?
  3. Wanna help me make the Wild jersey colours? I'm 25% done the new roster update, gonna take out Phoenix for Minnesota.

    f**k sakes
  5. http://stats.hockeya...Tp&sortdir=DESC Using Vancouver as an example, because they're my favourite team. So apparently a 7th defensemen is a 100? And Tanev, a guy who played in the AHL is also a 100? Meanwhile poor Henrik Sedin is beaten out by 4 players on the Canucks... K... Edler was also an Allstar. He's a top 20 defensemen in the league. Dude's near the bottom. NO GOOD.
  6. Can anyone make an update to the editor with the player's overall rating indicated? Or a third party program? If interested, I'm willing to pay for it to be done...

Well. I don't understand these stats. They aren't the same as the snes one. I know the numbers are different, I actually mean the fields for where their point distribution is. At any rate, how long do you think it would take you to program what I'm looking for? I'll pay you.

    How

    Editor v0.8.1

How difficult would it be to make a third party program that just gives players averages based on existing stats?
  11. Stefan

    Editor v0.8.1

I thought you could decompile the program? Or could you make a stand alone program that just shows a player's average rating? A third party add-on? ANYTHING. AHHH ANYTHIIIIIIINGGGG

Can you. You might be our only hope.

I spoke to him on here. He says he really has no interest in doing it at all. I don't have the time to learn this, I have two jobs, and am extremely busy. If someone can do it, I have the time to make an updated roster. That's what I want to invest my time in. But I'm not going to learn some code for a one time thing, especially if there are other people on here who know how to, and can potentially do it in a mere minutes. Even an hour. It's no time for someone else, it'd probably be half a day for me.

He says the source code is on another computer that he can't access due to a damaged hard drive or something... :-\

I unfortunately just don't have the time to do this. I work two jobs... Wish I could. And want to make an updated 2013 roster. Anyone who knows the code knows how much time it would take to implement it into his already existing program? Or make a different program with just the player attribute editor, as well as the overall rating add on? I'll pay $$

So I guess no one knows any code to program an editor eh? The overall rating implementation would be gold... Even if theres a new editor with just player ratings.

Well, I spoke to statto and he said the data is on his friend hard drive. So if he could access it he might do it. He also mentioned he didn't know how the overall rating worked, but since we have that data, that won't be a problem. If he is able to recover it, and if he's willing to invest the time (which would be so awesome) I think just the overall code would be good for a first update

    How does it work?
  19. Stefan

    Editor v0.8.1

I briefly talked to him. He said he might to find the source code or something and hes not sure how the attributes work to get an overall rating Does no one else think this would be awesome?

If we could figure this out, making updates would be sooooo much easier.
  21. Dunno if this was ever resolved, but I figured out how to change it. Now have 20 minute OT's.
  22. I play SNES, not Genesis.

It's not even a hack. Just to get the data in the software to give an end result on a player's attributes to reflect that of which it would be in the game. There must be a way to do it, unless there is more value in some ratings than others. If not, it'd be easy... and very useful.
  24. Yeah. And as mentioned earlier the turn speed is greatly decreased. Weight also effects difficulty of being checked, and checking ability. I'm certain checking impacts how well you can hit as well... Although someone mentioned it's an AI based stat... I'd tend to disagree. Offensive awareness in later games was used as a modifier for certain offensive stats. I do notice that players with higher offensive awareness stats tend to have a bias to play more offensively, and typically score more goals. Defensive awareness tends to relate to defensive zone coverage. In my 2011 update, the capitals defense (mostly green) would frequently allow breakaways and get out of position because his defensive awareness wasn't very good. When a more defensive player was slotted in, the gaps would be closed, and there'd be less breakaways. I feel both off and def awareness are two stats that create a team identity. The teams I made in my updated version almost play like their real teams because I focused so heavily on the accuracy of these stats. Stick handling seems to have the biggest impact from a 55 rating to a 65 rating. At 65 and higher, the player typically will receive a pass with no problem, and it seems at 55 or lower they can't receive anything. I also think the stat effects how likely the puck will come off the players stick while in scrums, or tight areas with opposing players. Checking, or stick handling might also effect the likelihood of jarring a puck loose from an opposing player, without performing a check. Haven't screwed around with that, just speculation.

If anyone knows how to program this software... A player rating would be so amazing in the software. I'd pay you money to do it. Seriously. I'll PayPal you cash.
