I think it's worth having a classic season even if it is restricted to just new players playing in a small league. It's too important to get people involved before they lose interest. People just need to think about what they're committing to when they sign up for leagues, more than anything else. If you're playing in all of the "big 4" gens leagues (classic, GDL, tdl, blitz), that's nearly 200 games in a span of maybe 6 months? Figure it takes 10 minutes per game, 2000 minutes, or 33.3(repeating) hours, which is almost a day and a half's worth of playing time. And this isn't counting playoffs. This isn't counting drafting. This isn't counting the time spent keeping up with things through aim and/or the forums. you better have some consistent availability if you do that. I'm saying this because I've done this before. Need to really put in perspective how much of a time commitment you're making, too many people sign up for these leagues and think signing into aim for half an hour once every 2 weeks is enough of an effort to make.

even if this doesn't completely work, I'd like the idea of trying it. Would be neat even if there was just one night during the playoffs where we pulled this off. However, I obviously don't think it's fair to penalize anybody for not being able (or even not wanting) to play a whole series in one night. But it's an idealistic goal we can reach for.

In response to my portion here: I think more than anything else, humor doesn't translate well from one language to another. Speaking from my perspective, I speak and post comments in a "dry humor" sort of fashion that even native english speakers often don't understand. I don't know any of you people on this site, and i would never attribute anything from what I say online to who any of you are as people. I'm here to have fun in a loose and relaxed type of manner, I will be more careful in the future about making it clear when I'm not being serious.

amazing how tight things are at the top. i was sitting pretty at 22-4 at one point, donny comes in and beats me 3 in a row, and suddenly there's a log jam. the competition in this lg has been outstanding.
