After playing a few guys in the league and reading hokkeefans post what the hell is up with all the rage? Yes its damn frustrating when you lose a game, and maybe especially when its to someone you think you could normally beat but for asses sake its just the first few games of the season. I don't mean to be your mom [because shes just fine the way she is ] but try and remember that the majority of the guys here are just in it for the fun and the awesomeness of finding other men with a similar love of nhl94. Smack talk if you want but show some respect and instead of complaining about lots of problems maybe email the admins or something! I don't think we need to draw up some code of ethics or something along those lines [i hope not ], so just use some judgement rather than letting the rage take control. If a guy is lagging and you find the game unplayable maybe say so sometime in the first period instead of when you are down 5-3 with 2 minutes left in the 3rd. If some of your hardware isn't working or you just don't feel like playing right taht moment say so; theres plenty of time to reschedule. This site is put together and maintained by someone who is donating a big chunk of his free time, and although maybe thats not the first thing you think of when you just got raped 10-1, try to keep it in mind. Having said all that need to apologize to BSDaemon for that ugly cut and the goal right off the faceoff when he was typing. If you had stuck aruond I was trying to say i would have had no problem taking that one back, but I suppose once the puck drops you just gotta rush it

schwabe what is your aim man? Could you email it to evan to update the site with maybe?

This isn't any sort of site announcement or anything, but for the few guys in the SNES division that have yet to get an AIM; please if your able to install just do it b/c its awesome! It really goes a long way in making game playing that much easier, and its a good opportunity to get some exhibition games in with other guys. If you use other messaging programs like msn maybe consider something like http://gaim.sourceforge.net/ for which you can use multitple clients at once. For the record I never understood why people use AIM or america online but still with all the nhl94 in one place you can't go wrong.

You are pretty damn proud of that one, and with 11-3 I can understand why. Keep it up man.

I'd definately be up for our month 2 game anytime you feel good for it, but i agree we need to get these boys on AIM.

Hmm not too sure what you mean by ports, but in the main screen can you see a list of games or is it completely blank? If thats the case you are already connected but if not I'll look into it a bit more as I've never had this problem yet.

Daemon like Evan mentioned there will be a guide going up in the next few days to explain some of the connection issues guys might have. While its best if both players are able to get around their firewalls, or arn't even behind one to begin with, only the host needs to be completely open. If you use the netplay feature in zsnes and both you and your opponent uncheck the little box that says "use UDP instead of TCP" you should be able to have a game no problems. Again though at least one of you must have the proper ports forwarded or another way around the firewall. Hope that might help you out and feel free to add me on aim: schwartz124

QFT on that schwabe and good suggestion man. I'm gonna try to give Evan a quick ZSNES tour sometime this week and I think we may end up using it for the season. The kaillera support in snes9k is pretty awesome stuff, but the lack of true full screen and typing in game may not be exactly what we need. If we do go with zsnes heres hopin that evan might consider putting up a link to it on the homepage.

I haven't checked back over too much of the Genesis league last year, but I know that out of all the guys I have had the opportunity to play against, both online and off, some of the best were with teams that had stats and ratings which were just ass. In some ways I think you can become a better player more quickly by using teams that don't have the fastest skaters, or the best goaltenders. It forces you to play a bit smarter and in the end I think it might pay off. So if someone decides to put up a first choice other than Dallas, Detroit, Boston etc. I will cheer for you. You are awesome and you are a hero. Ratings have far less to do with the outcome then the way you manage your team on the ice, and the technique you have.

I apologize guys if this may feel like spam already as I've been posting it in most any forum where I think we might find some interested guys but here goes again As Evan has stated before the hope is to run both a SNES and GENESIS league in tandem this coming season, but in the meanwhile myself and a few friends have put together a little exhibition tourney. The hope is to fill all 24 team spots by February 10 and start the tournament immediately after that.
