  1. I don't necessarily think this is the best way to do it but i thought i'd throw it out there for thought: Every week there is a designated team of the week. example: First week is Anaheim. So all players would play anaheim vs. anahem. 2nd week is Boston with BOS vs BOS. A season would consist off going through all NHL94 teams including ALL-Stars. But the problem is maybe it would just get a bit boring. Just a thought. I personally like the idea of a player draft, but I'd imagine it would be near impossible to organize.
  2. I've been thinking about the new NHL 94 roms out there with updated rosters. Just curious about how many of you are real hockey fans? (ya know, follow the real life NHL) You know it's interesting. I didn't give a damn about NHL hockey until the classic Genesis versions came out. I'd follow the games, go to Blackhawk games, and even hockey digest. It was fun to go to a game and watch some of the marque players and say stuff like "Where the hell is Larmer's slap shot!?" or hope that Roenick would dominate a game. As time went on, the hockey games (IMO) went to the toilet. The decline of the video game, started my decline of my interest in the real life NHL. I don't even know who won the last Stanley Cup. It's a 2 minute bus ride to the United Center for me. Maybe the updated ROMs with some netplay action will spark an interest again.
  3. I'm really new to this netplay thing and would like to start playing some people . My question is is about what ROM are most people playing? I felt pretty knowledgable about the classic NHL94 rom as far as rosters, but've seen some new 2006 ROMS floating out there. I'm hoping a lot of people are still using the classic version of the game, but if not: What updated ROM should I be using? What other essential NHL94 ROMs should I have? Where can I find them? Who are the good teams that I should start to look at? Speaking of the classic untouched version of 94, Where can i find the most popular copy of it to ensure maximum compatibility with other players?
  4. My friends and I used to play the same way. Chicago was simply not to be used. Chicago is so ungodly good. Granted Roenick is the best center in the game he is not the reason they are unfair. Roenick can be neutralized through good goalie control. It's that darn Belfour! He is way too good for a goalie!
  5. I personally dislike having penalties "on." - Penalties takes away from the speed and the flow of the game. I like quick arcade style action. (just my opinion of course) - It seems a lot of the penalties are out of anyones control. Granted a players aggressiveness may have a factor, but it just stinks when you are on your breakaway then the whistle blows cause of a holding penalty that you had nothing to do with. Just my 2 cents... Id like to know what others play online? Penalties on? or off?
  6. Hello Everybody. I'm new to the board and new to this online NHL94 thing. I was pretty decent back in the day and would like to play someone in the old school NHL94 rom. (Maybe this new 2006a version at some point, but I really don't know the rosters) AIM screen name: backhandfloater
