  1. If you really want to know the truth: he refused to accept my bribe, even though I told him, "I'll leave it on the ground if you don't take it, now, take it!" -- like an old Italian mother --- "It's your money, here, take it." That's just the kind of guy @seamor is.
  2. Encountered a bug playing @Mitch Kramer that I've never seen before! Delayed penalty call, then there's a breakaway. Skater gets tripped going to the net and is awarded a penalty shot. During the next stoppage, the skater goes to the box then the penalty shot starts. Shooter on the penalty shot scores and is awarded a power play goal. No man is in the box after the penalty shot goal.
  3. @segathong there's open skate, free hot chocolate and air hockey for '95 players after the games.
  4. Lets get some heavy hitters on the board! Might want to put that rom in the first post as well.
  5. Jesusplaysnhl94 is proud to select, with-the number-whatever-people-picked-before-me-but-it-doesn't-even-matter-because-I-picked-a-different-team, overall pick...
  6. Go for it! A tournament is a better format in a lot of ways People don't have to commit to playing a ton of games If things don't go well for newer players they don't complete a ton of games with no chance of making the playoffs and can bow out gracefully Keeps things fast and fresh My preference would be best-of-5, single elimination with a best-of-7 final, but I'm cool with whatever else everyone wants to go with.
  7. @seamor floated having a Frozen Four Tournament. I'd def be in for that if line changes are on.
  8. Played some games with @seamor. Great one timer with 5 seconds to go in the 2nd game and lots of great plays in the first game, too. Lots of fun to be had with this rom. @clockwise Penn State 6 - UNH 2 @seamor @clockwise Minnesota 3 - New Hampshire 2
  9. Kuperman actually did the media guide for the 90-91 Super Series, which was the last Russian teams vs NHL showdown. I was supposed to scan it for nhl91.com but I never got around to it before I took the site down. It doesn't say anything in there about him, though. Pretty much a useless comment on my part. Just trying to help out. I'll go, now. Cya.
  10. Looks like it'd be fun with line changes. At least I'm gonna try to talk someone into playing with line changes.
  11. Man, I gotta play this against someone online. Great job!
  12. Failed to mention my personal favorite part of the tournament: having @halifax call the craziest SNES game I've ever been a part of.
  13. Awesome job all around! Congrats to @Mikail and @angryjay93 for reminding us all who runs this ****. To @halifax, @smozoma, @kingraph, @chaos and everyone who had a part in putting this together: Thank you for setting up the best online, NHL94 tournament, ever! I'm very proud to be a part of this and to raise this kind of money for the best hockey game ever is incredible. If you'd have told 10-year-old-me that this was possible I'd have said no way! I will happily donate $1,000 if it would help make this thing happen again, next year, as an annual event. ggs
  14. My brain had too many tabs open and I was thinking about the Mighty Ducks flying V formation from the movie. Then I realized that theres only 3 skaters and it would be kinda stupid to have that formation for a face-off.
  15. Actually I was talking with a client and typing about 94 at the same time so I don't really know what the hell I was saying. Doing the same with this client... I'll have to figure out what I was trying to say.
  16. Nice job! Makes me wish there was a 6-way-play adapter. It'd be cool if you could change the face-off position of the skaters for this, too.
  17. @UKREDWING83 Pretty much every ROM edit, ever made, is in the master rom list thread. Also, please thank the guys who created these edits if you do download them. It's a lot of free work, in some cases hundreds of hours in the ROMs and hacks that I, as well as many others, have done in the past. Thanking them goes a long way in helping those guys feel appreciated and motivated to produce more versions of the game for people to play, for free.
  18. Didn't realize that DOS emulators were on Archive.org. Awesome! @Mr. Derp you can use Joy-To-Key to map keyboard buttons to a controller.
  19. I second the issue with the FPS. Also, it feels like the sprites don't have enough animations to make the gameplay fluid, which just exacerbates how bad the framerate is even further.
  20. For the amount of enjoyment you'd get, it's worth it. Only have to figure it out once. It's probably easier than figuring out how to setup the emulator and playing online.
  21. @Mr. Derp you can play the PC version (NHL Hockey and NHL 95) on the DOX Box emulator, if you didn't know.
