  1. That game kinda looks like adventure island on nes. Ea had the perfect formula with 94, all they had to do was impliment a reaular season with stat tracking and mabye player trades.
  2. Boston is probably the team I play with the most. I probably use the Bruins 65% of the time. If I'm playing the CPU, I usually pick San Jose, Anaheim or Ottawa.
  3. Before you buy a SEGA CD, why don't you download the bios, iso, and play it in Gens to see if it's worth it to you?
  4. Edit: The vids updated with some more stuff. I added some music too. Sorry about the quality as youtube.com seems to dilute the quality of all the vids hosted there.
  5. The Genesis/Mega Drive games that are going to be available for Revolution are probably all going to be first party. I would be flabbergasted if any of EA's Genesis/Mega Drive titles make an appearence on revolution. Especially after Sega and EA severed ties during Saturn's life span.
  6. I was fiddling around with nose the other day trying to figure out what ratings made a golie more susceptible to to this shot. After calibrating and testing the ratings for a while it became apparent that a golies puck control greatly influences his susceptibility to the five hole slap shot. A skaters shot power is equaly important. Eventually I decided to set to set a golies puck control to the lowest possible (while leaving all the other settings alone) and set a skaters shot power to 99. This appears to be the formula for the five hole slapper: low golie puck control and high shot power for a skater. Here's a clip little clip of it. Oddly enough the five hole shot is most effective in a stationary position from the middle of the ice, even with these ratings. Much like the way the pass shot works from the center ice logo. I tried to find the twine from other areas inside the blue line and could'nt score with much frequency until I went to the center of the ice.
  7. You misinterpreted what I wrote. This has occured more times that I care to calculate on the genesis version. I was speaking directly to the fact that I only play the snes version once in a blue moon, which would be why I've never seen so many penalities. Not beacuse I am not fimilar with hockeys rules and regulations. I'm also one of the only people who always plays with full rules and lines changes enabled. The only time they are off is when I play online, beacuse 99% of people won't play with them.
  8. You could actually control the players during the brawls in MLH. Another cool aspect of fighting in the game was: if you win the fight, you would be excused from taking the penalty. In ice hockey, the two teams just mosh in at center ice. I know a lot of people that are fans of mutant league hockey. I never really got into it. This was probably due to the abysmal frame rate.
  9. How much of an impact does home-ice advantage have on your game?
  10. Yeah, it seems to be involuntary. This occurs like every 10 games or so. I've actually had the cpu take one of my passes for a one-timer. This happens with the golie to me much more frequently: When you have no control over any players on the ice, but the star is still on the golie.
  11. Interesting... Can't say I've ever encountered this..But, that might have something to do with the fact that I rarely play the snes version
  12. #22 (that's his real name btw) decides to release some fustration from an erroneous call by a blind reff on unsupecting fans by savagely skating into the stands. Suspension is pending.
  13. That game looks a lot like Mario Lemieux Hockey. Had it been possible to actually aim the puck with some degree of accuracy, MLH would have been pretty good. I loved the fact that the whole team could have a brawl, I've yet to see another hockey game incorporate this kind of lunacy. I remember rock'n Blades of Steel on NES as a small fry. "Get the pass".The fights in that game were hilarious.
  14. I'll list some of my favorite after 94. 1. The 6-pak. That's what I think it was called. It had sonic, streets of rage, shinobi, golden axe, super hang-on and columns in one cart 2. Out run 3. space harrier
  15. Heres the classic crazy replay glitch. When the replay goes ballistic and has a conniption. It's the first one I've ever seen with more that one puck on the ice.
  16. This image of an old man appeared in my head. He was in a big white room nurturing a controller surrounded by other old people, men and women. All with joysticks and other electronic gaming devices hooked up to t.v.'s. And this one guy..This one guy had a Pc. All moded up and hooked up to his hover round power wheel chair playing against some other decrepit old fart in NHL 94...When I realized this guy was me. There I was..50 years in the future, in a retirement home ..My hair all bloomed gray. My fingers with a permanent ( C ) button imprint from chronic gaming..Battling against other senior gamers..Playing for the rights to my adversary's prune juice and granola bars for the week. Is that how it's gonna be? Playing 94 and other games well into our golden years? I don't envision myself letting up anytime soon.
  17. Dont get me wrong here I love me some 93, but there are several reasons why I think 94 is better: One timers, it adds some diversity to scoring and really breaks up the monotony of pulling dekes and slap shots all day. Ea also omitted the team logos on the ice surface, which I really didn't understand. But the biggest reason why I think 94 prevails as the better game is beacuse of the way the golies flop around like fish out of water on what should be just a rebound or a save. Just my 2 cents
  18. Belfour flips hid lid Has anyone ever encountered this before? I'll let the video speak for its self. Its the first time I've ever expirenced this. It caught me by suprise so I was unable to capture the entire thing. To make it even more of an anamoly Its not present in the replay.
  19. You need lag off. Formulated to stop lag in its tracks. I use the aerosol can version.
  20. I'd love to come through. I would surely provide reinforcements in the form of pizza, spirits etc for the gang. But Im not even close to Chicago.
  21. Got mine still has that new controller smell. Elected to go with the classic black for badassedness. Feels like my hands were made for this controller. I would strongly recommend playasia.com.
  22. I looked at the goal crease tutorial and fiddled around with tile molester but I'm totaly inept when it comes to this stuff. It's purely cosmetic but I think it would be a nice addition to the 2006 rom.
  23. It's difficult to say because all three of the positions are equally indispensable. But there are some vital attributes that are essential when formulating a team. One of them is speed. Speed is an absolute necessity in '94, and can really disguise a individual players deficiencies no matter the position. It's speed that will make the difference on break always and one-timers on the rush. Shot power and accuracy are important, obviously. I also think offensive awareness and passing accuracy are underrated. Naturally some players are more coveted than others, but seeing how there is an abundance of great forwards: good D and a strong keeper will probably be at a premium in the draft.

    NHL96-PC

Why not play the conventional '96 for snes? Were there features on the pc version that were omited from the console versions?
  25. Cheers for the replys fellas. Evan, feel free to dissect the vid if you want to put any of it in your download section.
