  1. Hey guys, I just heard about this tournament. What a brilliant idea!! Glad to see a live tournament finally getting off the ground. I'll definitely drop in to watch and drain some brew. Good luck boys!!
  2. Hey all, I saw that you guys mentioned my video in this thread. Glad to see some people like it. Thanks! I re-recorded it, so here's a new version.
  3. And an interview with The Ron Barr: http://sports.yahoo.com/blogs/nhl-puck-daddy/puck-daddy-chats-ron-barr-unforgettable-face-ea-142705243--nhl.html;_ylt=AiTNdJoMQ5f1XWAYfIHprDCRbcp_;_ylu=X3oDMTE4NWRia245BG1pdANCbG9ncyBJbmRleARwb3MDMQRzZWMDTWVkaWFCbG9nSW5kZXg-;_ylg=X3oDMTFpMm9iMzh1BGludGwDdXMEbGFuZwNlbi11cwRwc3RhaWQDBHBzdGNhdANibG9nBHB0A3NlY3Rpb25z;_ylv=3

  5. Is it safe to assume that because the site is ad-free Evan pockets $0?
  6. The best part is Smith holding his hands against his cage. That oughta keep the fiberglass from bleeding.
  7. English is obviously not his first language. At the very least, please contain your constant policing of peoples' grammar and spelling to English-speakers. What the f**k is your damage, anyway?

  9. Hmm I bet this would have an even more pronounced effect in NHL '98 for GENS because of the buggy two-line pass rule.
  10. I'm scared of the alternative.
  11. I went to the Senators/Leafs game on Saturday in Ottawa. 65%-75% of the fans were wearing Leafs jerseys. No exaggeration. Unlike American cities, who just don't care about hockey, Ottawa let their building get overrun by opposing fans. Pathetic. I would like to nominate Sens fans as the worst in the NHL. Smoz, you could probably add some insight on this one.
  12. Hilarious! Ron Barr and Jeremy Roenick are curiously absent from the list of notable Ga people.
  13. My favourite part about all this is that the refs blew the play dead after a while. Doesn't NHL '94 do the same thing if you stay completely still with the puck for a few seconds? NHL '94 - ahead of its time.
  14. YOU DIDN'T CAPITALIZE "AND"!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  15. You went to Carmen's, didn't you? Congratulations bud.
  16. Do you know when single-game Canucks tickets go on sale? I am planning on going in February. I've been checking the website for the last few weeks and they keep saying they're going to be up for grabs in September, but nothing specific...
  17. Almost - they did it in the preseason last year when they let in people for free. The wave is kinda gay. It's one thing to do it during commercials timeouts, but people who do it during the game don't care what's happening on the ice/field. In other words, a bad fan. This year during a Jays game I was at, someone tried to get the wave going in the 9th inning, in a one-run game. People supported him. I think if you don't want to pay attention during crunchtime in a game, you're a pretty shitty fan. Also, the wave is the product of some 19 year-old who just had his first beer and is looking for attention.
  18. How's this as a start for bad fan criteria: -Poor knowledge of the game -Pick fights -Take chirping of opposing fans too seriously/personally -Boo their own players -Do the wave -Can't hold their liquor -Bring their ugly, sloppy, girlfriends -Are more excited about the "WHICH SECTION IS LOUDER?!" game during commercials than the game itself -Wear suits in the platinum good sections -Order merlot instead of a beer in the platinum sections -Don't cheer -Get into heated arguments with their friends that the Tim Horton hanging from the rafters is "NOT the doughnut guy" (my personal favourite) -Are racist -Only watch the game when their team is good -Call the sport "ice hockey" Any additions?
  19. Suddenly I feel like like a huge dick for wishing death upon Igor Korolev all those years.
  20. Frustrating, but true. On the internet I find Habs fans are the worst, but a lot of that is due to the Pittsburgh vs. Montreal thread on this forum last year. Canucks fans got cocky this year, and are a close second place. When not hiding behind a keyboard, I've seen the Leafs play in Montreal, Ottawa, Pittsburgh, and Philly. If I am going to take the people that I was around those days as a generalization for the entire fanbase, then: -Montreal fans are the smartest, and actually, really, really, hate you, your mother, your team, and their own country. -Ottawa fans apparently wear Maple Leaf jerseys, boo Alfredsson, and chant "go Leafs go." -Pittsburgh fans keep to themselves unless they just had their first beer. So about 1/3 of the arena keep to themselves. They like to spend money on the newest throwback jersey and put Lemieux's name on it. They try to impress you by name-dropping players that are "really good" in the same way your girlfriend will try to impress you by pretending she cares about the hockey game you're watching. They have all banged Max Talbot at one time or another. -What Philly fans lack in knowledge, they make up for in passion (read: alcohol consumption). Most of the chirping I got here was all in good fun, which is fine by me. It helped that any time someone got mad I could just yell "Doc Halladay!" and we'd instantly be best friends. The women were actually way more angry than the men, although if you looked like they did you'd be angry too. I find that in the US since hockey's more of a niche sport with a blood-and-guts image, a tougher crowd goes out to the games. I wish these types would replace the suits in the ACC. I'm going to Boston to see the Leafs in December, so I'm excited to take a piss then.
